Yes, I would recommend Negril Village to a friend with a caveat. It’s a beautiful restaurant. However, before opening for the evening, they should take the time to clean up paper/trash at the entrance. Entering a courtyard littered with trash does not give a good impression on what’s in store. Also, handwritten notes taped to the doors informing guests the restaurant opens at 6pm isn’t classy.
The service was good and prompt. The food was delicious. But if your digestive system isn’t accustomed to greasy food, you might rethink ordering the Curry Goat and Oxtails items.
The food was amazing!!!! We had the jerk chicken and waffles. Ambience was great as well!!!
The food, value and service was good. The music was too loud making it hard to hold a conversation.
The card splitting is not clear - but the food is good and the vibe is nice
I love this place, I love the staff, and the food was amazing!!!!!!
It’s always good to come into a black owned establishment and receive such amazing service. Thank you 🙏🏾
I had the ox tails which were excellent. My boyfriend had the jerk chicken. His only negative was that it wasn’t really hot so he had to send it back to be warmed up.
They sat us immediately before the entire party arrived, which was great but we couldn't order anything until everyone arrived even with the tickets being separated. Once the entire party arrived it took a minute to get our orders taken and a long wait to get our food. When the food finally arrived, mine was missing so I had an even longer wait. Once I received my food it was good. The plantains were good and fresh.
Went with coworkers. Waiter and food were great, drinks took too long to come and were weak with too much ice.
Went to Negril for a first date. Had an 8pm reservation and we arrived a few minutes early and was seated speedily. Our server was great. We didn’t wait long for drinks or food. We started with the codfish fritters. They were good! My boyfriend had the oxtail pasta, which he enjoyed. It just had a little bit too much spinach for his liking. I had the oxtail with rice and peas. The meat was a little bit salty but was cooked veryyyy well! The aesthetic was very nice, brick walls, marble table tops and chandeliers are right up my alley! Overall it was a good time!
Love this place!! Great food!
Food was awful. Priced way too high! Will not be back
My favorite brunch spots!! Food is always hot and delicious!! Service was on point!!! Never disappoints!
We were well taken care of during our reservation at this establishment.
Arrived at 6pm for a 7:30 show at the Fox Theater. The restaurant was relatively empty when were seated at our table. We placed our drink order and reviewed the menu for our appetizers and main course. When the server took our dinner order, the drinks had not arrived. Approximately 25 minutes after sitting our drinks arrived. We then waited another 15-20 minutes for the appetizer to arrive. Shortly thereafter, main courses started to arrive. All meals were delivered except for one. We did not see our waitress during this time and had to relay messages about the tardiness of the last meal, which arrived at 7pm. We left the restaurant at 7:15 and hurried to make curtain call. No apologies from the staff. Very disappointed in the poor level of service. The food however was very good.
The food was delicious and the service was good!!
Great as always
Our waiter Maurice was amazing. We can be a little difficult at times with ordering but Maurice made great suggestions for us. He was always one step ahead when we made requests, gave us great laughs and was professional at all times. The food was great, except the waffles with the jerk chicken and waffles. It’s advertised as pineapple-infused waffles. However, I did not taste the pineapple purée. It would probably be better to add some crushed pineapples on the side. The rest of the foo and drinks were great. All of this could have been overshadowed by the host who had no desire to seat us when we had a reservation and there was only 2 tables with ppl in the entire place. Thanks to Maurice for a great experience.
So I planned my birthday dinner here for 10 people but only 6 came and the host helped me make accommodations quickly. I loved that. I got the Creole shrimp and grits I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't spicy and honestly not only that the taste was a bit bland. However my friends had the chicken and waffles and Escoveitrch and they enjoyed it. So I would recommend the shrimp and grits if you like actual “creole” food. I had one of my friend Plantains and they were over cooked . Parking is $20 for anytime which is way too expensive for about a hour. The table in the back of us kept yelling it seems as if they’re were gonna fight and nobody told them to quite down. The place is very gorgeous but I won’t be back.
They were out of bacon and didn’t have a fair substitute. But the rest of the experience was fine
The atmosphere was great!!! I will definitely go back!
The food was delicious! The vibe was definitely what my friends and I needed.
I would recommend because food was great!! Service was very very slow. Wait staff was friendly but no reason given for such slow service.....
The food was great! The servers are very nice and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend!
The doors did not open on time. The coffee was lukewarm. They were out of cornbread and oxtails. The amount of money they charge per plate doesn’t align with the level of service provided.
Food and environment was great!
The food is always fresh and right amount of seasoning. The vibe is calming with a hint of southern culture and island feels. I sat at the bar so the bartender was more focus getting ready for the night. Aside from that I recommend to anyone who has a love for authentic food and good ambiance.
Excellent food in upscale environment with classy ambiance. Great service and reasonably priced
Our server Maurice was phenomenal! Food was amazing and the music was awesome! We will definitely be back!
First time Negril and the experience was very positive. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. It's a winning recipe! It was a little loud, but hey...people are enjoying themselves. We will return and recommend.
We had an reservation and still had to wait. Wait to be seated and waited 15 mins before someone even acknowledged our table. We waited 30 mins on our cocktails too. We had to ask the young man who brought our food about out drinks because we never received tj prior to getting our food. Not a very good experience for my man’s 40th birthday. And it was our first time being there.
I loved it! I am definitely going to return the next time I visit the city! My waitress was amazing and she was VERY helpful! 💚 I’m glad I decide to celebrate my birthday here.
Food was great. Ambiance was great. I was annoyed with the 4 checks for big party rule. It’s actually kind of ridiculous and caused so many issues. Otherwise it was a nice night. Would go back again in smaller group but never for a occasion.
The food was VERY oily. But the service was great. But i feel like there need to be more drink specials if
food isn’t gonna be a forte. I also don’t like that the bathroom is in West Africa. How do disabled people access that area ? And only 2 worked and the handicapped one was out.
Had the Jerk Chicken and Waffle. Waffle was delicious with pieces of pineapple cooked in it! Very tropical spin on a traditionally southern dish. I was wondering if the Jerk Sauce was going to be spicy, so got it on the side. But it wasn’t too spicy at all. The only thing I would have preferred was the chicken being more white meat than dark meat. Overall really good meal with a good waitress.
Our waiter was new and excellent. Disappointed that they did not prepare for the holiday weekend which meant my favorite dish was not available AND they ran out of to go containers. We had to piece meal some small containers they had in order to take our food home. Love this place but it seems they always slip up on preventable things.
I’ve been to Negril Village quite a few times and was surprised at my most recent visit. The painkiller (drink) is normally quite tasty and it was very bland with no “kick”. My 4 guests and I were seated quickly however it took awhile for our server to come over. After we ordered and they were out of the snapper (Sunday 4pm reservation) which made me sad, all of my guests were excited. About 20 minutes after we ordered, the server tells us that there is no take out containers. So basically we couldn’t take any food that we previously ordered home. I was clearly confused as to how this happens but I also know that Negril should’ve had a workaround plan. No one decided to go pick up some take out containers for paying customers?? Then one of my guests didn’t eat any of their food as it was tasteless (oxtail pasta) and she kept putting salt on the dish. I asked to see the manager and she was more than accommodating by offering a table discount, a pitcher of rum punch (this also tasted quite different than the first glass we had upon arrival) and found one to-go small container for a side dish. I was truly disappointed in this restaurant however I honestly think it was an anomaly! I will try again one day..
Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. The only concern I have was the extremely loud music downstairs while having brunch with old friends and trying to talk over the music. The three of us were visiting from other cities and chose Negril Village to meet and catch up with each other. While the music was pleasant; it was too loud and we could not talk over it. We had to leave sooner than we wanted to.
Negril Village is an excellent choice for great food. I love dining in or ordering takeout. If you come on a Friday night, be prepared for an energetic atmosphere with live music or a DJ. Great for a date night.
I'm going to say yes because I believe in second chances. The greeters may have been tired, and may management slipped up on ordering supplies but the experience was less than pleasant. They were out of over a third of the menu items. Management should be better prepared. I've had much better Jamaican food in Atlanta without the attitude and for better prices. Some places understand that customer service is important and some just don't. I'll give this place one more chance sometime in the future when I can't think of any other options.
