NH 44 restaurant
Excellent service, fine food, well priced. But...the washroom was a tragedy, broken toilet seat ( on the floor) no excuse for the unsanitary mess. Sorry but it's true. Will look forward to a marked improvement on my next visit.
All new Indian dishes for us, they were explained well, and we have not had a better Indian Food experience, ever!
Excellent food, love the owner who served and helped us pick our food. Will go back again for sure!
The food was very good, nice presentation, fresh and plentiful.
The staff was wonderful.
Really good food. Real indian taste. Chef very cordial. Comes out of the kitchen and gets feedback himself.
I heard about NH44 from a friend who works there. My family and I decided to eat there for lunch. The day we went to visit, the restaurant was hosting a special event where all the sales made that day would be sent out as donations to help victims of the Australia bushfire. The service was great, very quick and friendly. Our server spent the time to explain what each dish was and list any allergies. Our food came out hot and was extremely delicious! We will tell of our friends and family about NH44! We plan to come back again.
Really lovely food, creative and delicious!
My whole team loved the menu and the food was delicous. Good variety and great service
If you expect and desire "same old same old" purportedly Indian cuisine, don't bother going to NH 44. But if you want to go on a geographical tour of India with a daring, innovative young chef, Sarath, don't wait to go to NH 44.
Just for starters, close your eyes and taste the veg pakora plate, eased along your palate with cold and dark Cheetah beer. Or add the chicken tikka or the masala mutton to a spoonful of chicken biryani. I just have to take a few moments off.... Just so I stop drooling and continue with this review.
Eating out at NH 44 is not just a meal, it is an experience, a complete break from our cold streets and pre-snow bone chilling dampness. Chef Sarath will oblige you with some understanding of each dish and tips on the number of items to order without generating doggy bags galore. And so so very affordable that four adults had three starters, two main course dishes, four beers and three glasses of wine AND very full stomachs, for just $100. Guaranteed that we will return often, taking new sets of friends and family with us.
It is not the price one pays by going to NH 44, it is the bigger price you will pay by not dining there. NH 44 is a most welcome addition to the Indian cuisinary in Ottawa and our long wait for authenticity and innovation has finally ended. Hats off to chef Sarath.
All six of us were amazed at the size and quality of the dishes we ordered. Everything was delicious, we are definitely making this one of our "go to" places. Next time we intend to order a variety of appetizers for sharing.
Good food from all regions of Indian cuisine. Something for everyone.
A colleague recommended this place to me and - by God - it did not disappoint! He brought leftovers of their chilli chicken and from the moment I tasted that morsel I was in love.
For my first visit I brought my girlfriend and we tried the matar paneer and pakora in addition to
the chilli chicken. What a treat it all was! I will absolutely be going again!
