food and service excellent. Noise level OK until larger party arrived
Excellent food and service. Warm and friendly. A great dining experience.
Great food and very kind attentive service. Only issue was a number of large groups which resulted in a higher noise level than I enjoy.
Our favorite place to dine. We love bringing old and new friends to your Bistro. All new comers are pleasantly surprised and come back and those that have tasted your cuisine come back.
Always thanks for creating a lovely evening out. Mary and Barry
Tasty food. Presentation is appetizing. Baba is very good. Lamb was a bit dry. Please
Offer WW Pita.
Our Visits to your Bistro are always Special. Food, friendship and conversations make Noujaim’s Bistro our place to enjoy a meal and share your wonderful food with friends or our new friends who will experience Lebanese food at it’s best. Thank you George and your Staff for a lovely evening.
Food was fantastic and the service was very good. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Always wonderful! We love it here and highly recommend.
Great relaxing diner , food and service were exceptional
Delicious food, excellent service and all presided over by the wonderful owner/chef George! Highly recommended!
At dinner, George Noujaim came out and introduced himself, wonderful to meet the mind behind such great food. We are from NYC and have had found it difficult to find a good restaurant around here, so happy to have foud this place.
The hummus is excellent accompanied with a basket of warmly toasted garlic pita chips. His falafel sampler is crunchy on the outside and soft in the center with a tahini dipping sauce that was the perfect compliment. We were surprised by the fresh flavors in the Lebanese salad, the mint, and lemon just lit up our taste buds, so good we took some home with us. We shared the main course of signature garlic shrimp, it was simple, clean, moist, perfectly cooked. The Baklava for dessert was flaky and light for such heavy ingredients, it melts in your mouth. Go!
excellent mediterranean food - chef greets guests - moderate prices - nice ambiance - highly reccomend thurs - sat evening.
Food came out a little too quickly but we asked for them to hold it back and they did and it was no problem
However when food came out it was not hot delicious however and wil definitely go back
Food was very good. Service was attentive and consistent. Albarino by the glass was a good sign the food was going to be good. Baklava was excellent.
Very relaxed atmosphere! Enjoyed the authentic food and great wine list!
Wonderful Mediterranean food, great service. We had a great evening and will definitely be back!
I really enjoyed my lunch at this excellent restaurant. Although they were still officially closed for lunch, they allowed my small party to reserve a seating. It was my birthday celebration, so wanted to have a memorable meal. It was delicious. I had the Garlic soup, and also a pita stuffed with lamb, with a side of tabouli. Fresh and authentic.
The owner enjoyed talking with us, and we had a fabulous time. I will be back again soon!!
I have now been 4 times. Cannot find better Lebanese cuisine in CT! Always has lamb on the menu, and all the toppings and sides are made in-house. Just order the appetizers like tapas and you won't regret it.
Always wonderful, friendly and accommodating.... what else is there
Had a group of 7 for dinner. The owner/chef greeted us and the attentive staff made sure our every need was attended to. Would have given 5 stars but for the very large group that was dining at the same time, made the restaurant very noisey.
Outstanding food. Wonderful flavors. Friendly service, including two visits from the chef. Reasonably priced meal overall given ability to BYO.
My main objection was that we are a couple who came to have a nice meal and conversation with one another, but the entertainment, which I was not aware would be there when reserving on-line, nor when seated, was a singer who seemed more appropriate for an actual Club venue. She continuously tried to engage us in her songs and between-song chatter, even coming to our table while singing. The volume of her karaoke machine background and her singing were so loud and her actions toward us were so intrusive, I felt like my ability to converse with my wife over dinner had been hijacked. A simple single instrumentalist playing softly as background would better suit this small venue. We left between sets, skipping dessert and coffee, so as to avoid the second set, which promised, from her description, to be even more flamboyant.
Had a wonderful, relaxing evening at Noujaim's Bistro! Our party of 8 was well-accommodated for dinner. George did an inspiring job re-designing this restaurant into a bright, contemporary space that is welcoming for one or a few diners as well as a larger group like ours. The menu choices sounded amazing and the selections we eventually chose were even better than imagined. We started off sharing the Chardonnay Mussels, Gambas Al Ajillo (shrimp with garlic cooked Catalonia style), Garlic Soup and French onion soup...all delicious. I had a Paella fish special that included mussels, shrimp and a white fish that was simply divine. Others had rack of lamb special, Braised Lamb Shank and Chicken Kabobs in a homemade garlic sauce. Everyone was thrilled with our meals and our waitress was very attentive. This place is BYOB, so we brought some wine and the glasses and service were quickly provided. We ended the meal with some Chocolate Baklava that was that was the best I've ever had. It was a nice treat to have the owner and chef, George, stop by our table for a quick hello. We'll definitely be back.
This restaurant was perfect. Only drawback is no liquor license but you can bring your own. They even supply a cork screw for your wine. Thoroughly enjoyed the venue.
Ralph Nader told us to go there - he was in Norfolk as Noujaim's was just opening in this location. They have done a superb job renovating the space. Service is excellent, Lebanese food excellent. Everyone friendly.
Great addition to Winsted! Service very friendly and welcoming. Food was very good. Definitely going back.
The Kibbe is exceptional but make sure to call ahead for it.
Much needed dining experience in Winsted CT. Really good food. Support it!
Very attentive service. The owner came over repeatedly to the table to ask if all was well. The complimentary hummus was exceptionally tasty. The evening special of cod was particularly enjoyed and the shrimp appetizer and the chicken kabobs were fine, if a bit undercooked. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.
I loved my dinner. Do did the other 5 people I ate with. We had beef kabobs, chicken kabobs, short ribs, chicken schawarma, etc. Just about everything on the menu and it was all fresh and delicious! I highly recommend!
This was our first visit and we were very happy with our dining experience. The food was delicious, especially the Babaganoush, Hummus and Pita bread appetizer. The Chicken Shawarma and Lamb Chops were generous and expertly prepared. The owner was friendly and solicitous throughout the meal and we will go again.
The only Lebanese food around, and it was quite good. Liked especially the baba ganoosh and hummus. The rolled grape leaves had only rice, lacking spices. The lamb shawarma was ok. If you have a desire for Lebanese food, it is worth the trip to out of the way Winsted.
We have used Open Table to find undiscovered gems in Northwest Connecticut for several years and this is one of them. Great service, quiet and good for conversation. Very interesting Lebanese/ Mediterranean dishes. We especially recommend the Mussels Chardonnay and the Eggplant Croquette. Who knew there was anything this interesting in Winsted! We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
The setting was very quaint and elegant. Very much enjoyed the noise levelthat provided the opportunity for conversing. The service was fantastic! Really enjoyed the familial service. The food was very good. Will definitely return.
