Food was amazing and staff was great.
The fettuccine Alfredo was so tasty with an amazing cream sauce with wine and fresh herbs and freshly grilled chicken!
As long they will maintain their food quality and hopefully, they will bring back Angel Hair pasta.
Absolutely wonderful server, she made us feel very welcome. The food was really good, though the veal was a little on the skimpy side. The pasta primavera was delicious. It was quiet when we got there, but got quite busy, & people need to learn to use their inside voices. But altogether a great experience.
Been going here many years. Recent updates are lovely, including new menu and better quality. Food is really good. MUCH more than pizza nova...this is now our go-to for family dinners. Love it.
The waitress keeps saying JESUS Christ
The pizza very delicious ✅
The restaurant is overall 8 rating
Amazing food! Super friendly staff. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Great restaurant. I would of missed it when passing by. Not a big restaurant from outside. The food was DELICIOUS. Great service. Good Parking. 3 people spent $105. 2 cokes (me), 2 glasses of wine, wings, soup, each of us had our own main dish.
We had tickets for the ballet downtown but we wanted to find a nice place with good selections for the vegetarians in our party instead of the restaurants close to the theatre which were either too expensive or had limited choices for the veggies. Not only was the food and selection great for everyone at Nova, the price was very reasonable, it was easy to get to and our server made sure we were on our way downtown with time to spare!
Food was okay! Service was good!
Lunched with 3 girlfriends ..great lunch specials offered ...quality and quantity excellent! Service was very good and courteous. Christmas decor was not overdone .. it was just right! The restaurant is bright and cheerful .. light colours.
Good selection of menu items and great for kids ( pizza and pasta). Service was excellent. Like the real Italian feeling. Well done Nova !
We visited for our first time on Saturday evening. Went with a group of 8 for a family dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the gluten free pizza was delicious!
I met a friend here for some drinks and an appetizer that we shared - calamari. I love this dish but this place had it a bit burned that day, so something was off with that and the seasoning.
I will definitely still come back to try other dishes and perhaps the calamari will taste better on another day.
We had a large group of 28 friends and was the second time I arranged our dinner here. Service and food is amazing with reasonable prices. We will be back, probably for our Christmas get together. Highly recommend, and thank you to everyone!
Service was very good, food was also good. Had to pay for bread wish it was complimentary.
Dawn was our server and was great!! Asparagus salad needed a zip.. and we suggested lemon juice be added. Spaghetti was very good. Veal parm a hit and my artichoke penne was very good as well. Tiramisu was a disappointment ( no lady fingers to be found) but cheesecake etc was decadent and rich. We will go back!
First let me say that the staff was VERY pleasant and I enjoyed the food very much. We were dining with a toddler, and because of that, I would have expected a bit more attention and quicker service. It took a long time for anyone to take our order so it might have been nice if they had brought something small for our little guy to snack on - crackers? juice?
The noise level was quite high - and on this occasion it helped to hide our rowdy toddler... BUT... I would probably not choose Nova if I wanted a quieter meal.
The place was not full - but there did not seem to be enough waitstaff to look after all the tables in a timely manner.
Food overall is good, main entree is great. Dessert menu can be improve
We were a group of 6. Waiter was attentive. Food came quickly and hot. The only complaint, one of the 6 meals was much smaller in size, noticably so, not sure why.
My husband and I had a very enjoyable anniversary dinner. We definitely will be back.
Didn't realize the restaurant was closed for renovations when I made the online reservation. I went there from quite a distance to find it was closed. It would be wonderful if the online reservation service could let patrons know such important information when booking online.
My first visit, however, not my last. Excellent food and service and I will return.
The pasta was extremely flavourful. The staff was very nice. The price was affordable. Great meal.
Food was expensive when pizza is being brought out from Kitchen next door (Pizza Nova). Ambiance was OK. Owners can certainly work on reducing the prices to get customers back at their location.
Hadn't been to the restaurant in years so the renovations were a nice surprise. There were 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 children. Even though I had indicated that it was a Birthday when I made the reservation, the restaurant never acknowledged it. The waiter was very nice and attentive. Pizza was great, a little skimpy on the Cesar salads. Disappointed to learn that we couldn't order a large order of wings, apparently can but only for take out. Overall a good experience, would definitely go back.
The place has healthy options too. Was surprised how a not so big area can have a cozy and quiet feel. The fried calamari was heavenly, the steak and salmon was nicely done, and the rest of our orders were pleasant. The overall service is friendly and personable.
Overall it was rather disappointing to be honest. My girlfriend had the steak sandwich which needed to be sent back. I had a pasta dish that in my opinion was too small of portion. Service could have been better as well. Overall, I went once and wouldn't go back.
We pass by this place all the time and we finally tried it. It's a great neighbourhood place and really good if you have a large group and/or kids. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. We were there for lunch and found that the portions were a good size. Definitely recommend trying the asparagus salad.
The chef was very strict on substitutions which meant we had to pay $2.50 for mushrooms instead of just taking artichokes out of my pasta. Overall the taste of the pasta was good.
Excellent service. Food was delicious, as always. Nova never disappoints.
Recent increases in prices make this a less desirable destination.
We ordered the spring menu of veal chop, it was like veal jerky, a bit burnt and so well done my mother could barely chew it. It came with mash potato instead of parsnip coz parsnip was sold out. The veg choice was broccoli, carrots, or peppers, why not one of each to make playing more colourful? No substitute allowed on the spring menu. The ribs on the other hand was decent. With potato wedge on the side. No vegetable.
Also had the mussels as a starter, good portion to share but some were tiny.
I liked how they warm the bread as not many places do.
Not sure why this place is 4 stars when it's pretty basic casual fare.
I guess I was looking for a bit more upscale and didn't know it was part of pizza nova.
Great service and the food is always on point. The menu is reasonably priced and has a variety of options.
Opted Nova for our Mother's day lunch and it was a very pleasent surprise. The food quality was good, and the price poitn even better. I had the 10oz steak medium rare and it came exactlybas ordered...I have neen to steakhouse where they cock it up.
Overall everyone at the table came away happy with their meals and would definately come back.
Nova is fairly old restaurant where they have kept to date without forgetting what made them popular to begin with. The service is friendly, efficient and professional.
Heard good things from a friend so decided to try Nova Ristorante. The food was alright, just not as good as I expected. My husband had to send back his veal chops because it arrived lukewarm and was cold half way through his meal. Someone in our group ordered lamb chops and requested mint jelly but they didn't have any which seemed odd not to have. It wasn't a bad experience but didn't stand out either.
Nova was recommended to us and we decided to try it on a week-night for Valentine's day instead of a special meal at home. They were not overcrowded but the servers were "run off their feet" and were not able to provide good service. After long waits for a first course, I had trouble getting the server's attention to get a spoon. Perhaps we should have chosen other "mains" but they were "so-so." A disappointment. Prices were moderate but I won't rush back to try it again.
We got together to reunite with cousins after the passing of our dear Aunt. I reserved the day before, the table was great, the food and service were great. The Manager (Veronica) was so helpful and accommodating.
Party of 5. Restaurant was not busy. Four of us received our meal, one delayed. Then told the delayed meal had been given to another party. By this time the rest of us half finished our meal. We were offered to make the same thing or something else. Ambiance ruined by this point. We cancelled that meal. Left as soon as the rest of finished main course. Given $10.00 off our bill but still did not make up for the fiasco. Will go back hoping this was a one off.
Always a positive experience and wonderful food for good value at Nova!!
