Number 73 Bar & Kitchen

Service was slow and not up to standard expected. 100% I could see mixed households on tables. Quite rowdy and not socially distancing from themselves or waitresses.
Tables were closer together than expected considering indoors.
Some menu items out of stock. But can understand that to a certain extent.
My biggest complaint would be the mixed households, this is truly not satisfactory and is braking the law. And not just confined to one table. I saw about 4-5 tables that would be extremely unlikely in the same household. Groups of more than 6 as well.

Covid compliance is good with staff wearing masks and sanitiser on show. NHS check in encouraged.
Tables well spaced.
Menu is a little limited. Great selection of starters/tapas but the main meal choice is small.
Service is friendly and attentive. Drinks remain a little slow to arrive.

Number 73 remains to great place to eat out and stand put choice for Waterlooville.

Food good, however took over an hour from ordering to arrive. Ambiance tainted by one of the staff members only sporadically wearing a mask. Likewise, some customers doing the same when walking through/around the venue, without masks. Toilets VERY clean! 😊 Would revisit, but maybe post COVID?

Your waitress needed several trips to the table to get our order. She didn’t offer any drinks menu and we had to ask for everything ourselves.
I was a big enthusiast of Number 73 when it opened first time but now I was very disappointed with the food quality and as above with the service.

Food was over priced and our starters where cold. Didnt stay for the main course as so disappointing

Put off straight away having to provide credit card details for deposit to book a table.
Then again to have email and text reminders to confirm the booking or lose it.
We were rushed to leave the table since we arrived until we left, which affected the entire experience.
Disappointed the cocktail and food menu's were limited.
We were not enamoured with the food menu at all. Very expensive and basic so decided not to eat dinner.
Ordered only hummus, oil, olives and bread. Hummus was disgusting. Bread was hard and cold.
Cocktails that were available were nice.
Been here few times before and really loved the food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Sadly not the same anymore.
Nothing special. Wish we'd booked somewhere else for our date night.
Wouldn't go back. Wasn't made to feel comfortable and overall not a nice evening out

Very disappointing. We have visited before and always enjoyed eating here but the service was very poor tonight, and the food not as good as it normally is. It lacked friendliness and ambience.

Lovely place to eat. This last visit I had the small plate - Ribs with Pomegranate Salsa - Delish!!!

Great evening. Really well organised for Covid with great food and good value for money.

Fabulous breakfast, and we were a little apprehensive after the table next to us complained but ours was wonderful .. I only left what I was too full to eat, looking forward to our next visit

We’ve been a couple of times for lunches, coffees etc and always found the service very slow but lovely people in a nicely decorated place. unfortunately yesterday it just just a bit of a disaster...! We were the only people in and when our food eventually turned up (after half an hour Plus of waiting) it wasn’t what we offered and was stone cold... we then tried to order another drink that never appeared. We did not feel that we could pay for the food sadly and the manager did accepted this. I live locally and really want number 73 to do well however it cannot run as it did yesterday. People stood at the front door waiting to be seated for ages until I had to tell them where the staff were (in the office chatting..) I’m really sorry to have to write this review but it has put us off coming back.

We have eaten here many times and the food is always top notch!

We’ve visited Number 73 several times and never had a problem until now. We very rarely complain, but on this occasion, it was necessary.
My family members all ordered steaks. None of these were cooked as requested. Two chose to eat them nonetheless, but one sent it back. The steak was still undercooked when it was returned. The chef apologised and arranged for it to be deducted from the bill.
Also, the waiting staff didn’t seem to have table allocations, so we were asked the same questions several times over by different waiters.
It was a very busy evening. We waited more than an hour for our starters. This was surprising, given that every table had to be pre-booked.
Despite social distancing, the restaurant was very loud and we had to shout to be heard across the other side of the table.
I would recommend Number 73 on the strength of previous visits, but not this one I’m afraid.

The food here is absolutely beautiful. The restaurant is clean, modern and attractive.
I cannot wait to return.

Lovely evening not the most extensive menu but food very good

My pork belly was so delicious I couldn’t stop talking about it
Our waitress was so upbeat and wearing the visor didn’t seem to bother her

food over priced for what it is, and i am married to a chef.
chefs are noisy.
We had a table by the kitchen, not impressed with the two chefs, that were very loud, and discussing what plates to use, and to weather the plates had salad or not.
Not happy with hearing the two chefs, when my part and my self were trying to have a conversation.
would not rush back.

We arrived were shown to our table then left nobody came to take drinks order so after 35 mins I caught the attention of the lady in charge. Still had to wait another 20 mins until food order was taken then waited was told no more burgers available choose ribs another very long wait until we were told no ribs left either and they wouldn't be able to cook us a meal as they wouldn't have time as it was 9.35. I'm diabetic had not eaten since 2 so needed food. We were given our drinks (one pint cider one soda and lime) free!!!! Other diners were complaining about food saying how poor it was cold and not worth the money. Went to my favourite Indian bought a takeaway not the evening I'd planned. I am making a complaint to owner as other people got food who arrived after we did. I think the management need to manage as this venue was badly run!!!

Food fantastic, however the absence of a manager has created chaotic, poor and inconsistent service. They really need someone to step in and run the front of house staff, as they are desperately letting down the kitchen.

Fillet steaks were lovely, service was a bit hit and miss. Got the impression most of the staff were new as they were often clumsy or didn’t do the basics, such as bring the cutlery ahead of food being served we had to ask for it. Steak knives brought out for starters and then normal knives brought out for steak. Had to prompt for our drinks at one point and think they’d forgotten them as obsrr Er bed the bar person hastily pouring the wine and beer after the prompt. Appeared very busy making cocktails instead. The ambience was quite good, the cushions on the chairs were useless as kept slipping out the hole at the back of the chair. Very limited choice for deserts 3 in total and one they’d sold out if

Good service and tasty food. A nice ambience but was slightly noisy.

We were served our starter with our main meal which wasn’t ideal and only agreed because it was all cooked and ready to be served. Menu limited.

The food was okay, poached egg slightly undercooked. It was tasty but nothing special. The two female servers were not at all helpful and left hot drinks waiting to be ran for 10 minuets whilst standing around. Was very disappointed by the service.

We arrived early so we asked if we could have a drink at the bar before going to our table staff very happy to help us and very polite shown to table in a lovely manner service was superb and efficient all staff treated us very well. We will be coming back soon.

Several items out of stock so not available very slow service we had to keep asking for assistance. We’re given dessert menu then no one came back asked for the bill no one came back had to go and find someone to pay who was just texting on her phone! No staff wore masks or visors no evidence of hand sanitising between serving tableA no sanitiser available on the dining tables
