Owner was very attentive as was the waiter. Food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We will be back.
Overall a wonderful dining experience. Would benefit from more
Service was outstanding. Their patio is beautiful. Food was good, but the service and ambiance is what will bring us back!
This is a neighborhood gem!
Eclectic menu with small and large plates. Everything we had was very tasty. We sat outside during nice weather and the setting was very pleasant. One of the better new restaurants in Saint Louis
Service and staff were engaging and authentic. Drinks were very much on point and appetizers were delicious. Presentation of food made the experience feel more higher end than expected. Will definitely return.
One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time! Everything was delicious and the staff were so kind and seemed genuinely happy to be there.
Oaked was fabulous! We ate outside celebrating birthday dinners. The server gave us champagne to celebrate. My husband knew the owners, which made it extra special. Food was delicious!
Gail greeted us with open arms. A lovely warm feeling walking in. Love the space. Rocky Tucker plays piano on Saturday nights. He is fantastic. My husband orders the Street Corn and the Duck. Both delicious. I had an amazing Brussels sprouts Caesar salad, so interesting and yummy. My entree was delicious scallops. Kudos to the chef. Dessert we shared The Peach Texture. Beautiful. We will definitely go back.
We enjoyed everything about Oaked starting the minute we walked in the door and met Gayle. The BEST hostess I have ever encountered. The patio, lounge, 1st and 2nd floor dining areas all so attractive. The ambiance is very very nice. Beautiful and comfortable. The bartender on the Patio Friday Eve 8/2/19 was warm and friendly and made great cocktails. The wine list amazing! Then, our food soooo good. Our waitress Irena was attentive and warm also. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience there. We go out about once a week and like to try different restaurants (St. Louis has so many really great choices), that being said, OAKED truly stands out. We will be back. Thank you for a great date night!
Great food and wonderful a attentive staff. Both dining in and the outdoor patio are a wonderful place to enjoy dinner or a drink. We were entertaining out of town company and they were impressed with our choice for dinner. The staff was also gracious enough to give us a tour of the restaurant after dinner. You can't go wrong here!
The staff, the venue, the food, the wine = perfection! We were met by all members of their team with smiles and genuine interest in making our experience fun. There are multiple places to eat or have drinks; from an outdoor casual area, a rooftop veranda, a bar and lounge - a vibe for everyone! The menu is fun, adaptable (ie. To vegan), fresh and unique. Portions are smaller and perfect to share multiple. Let’s talk wine - ah! Denise (the Somm) has a by the glass lineup that is unmatched! A nice balance of new and old world with fair price ranges. Denise is sharp, friendly and was generous with her time. She seems to have a real passion for helping others learn more about wine. We also had great conversation and service from Britt in the bar. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and can’t wait to bring our friends back soon!
Oaked is a relatively new restaurant (opened in Feb) and we had a wonderful meal there. The owner and hostess were very nice and attentive. Everyone wanted us to have a great dinner and we did. The food was very good. My duck was cooked perfectly. They have an extensive wine and whiskey/spirits list. We had a fun time with their somm going over some French wines and her help was very appreciated. We will definitely come back again.
The ambiance at Oaked is fantastic-the darker main level, interesting design, and casual outdoor patio set the tone for a great dining experience. Unfortunately, our service was horrible. We waited 25 minutes for someone to take our drink order, and our waitress never told us her name. The entire experience was almost awkward and we left feeling like we got slapped with our wallet. The scallops were good and the drink menu was outstanding. We also ordered the Brussels salad, mussels, ribeye, and tomato salad and left very underwhelmed. All in all-the place has serious potential but the service and quality of food (especially for a very small seasonal menu) needs some work.
Greeted cordially and promptly, mini tour and introduction to bartender . Wow!
Such a unique and enjoyable getaway for local, but refined, dining in the heart of soulard.
What a lovely experience! We really enjoyed our dinner, from the space, to the friendly, professional service, cocktails and of course the food. There were 4 of us, and we all had beautifully plated and delicious meals. We especially appreciated the darkened ambience on such a warm evening! We will definitely recommend Oakes!
The food was very good. We were very pleased with all four of the items we ordered. The wine list was solid on the domestic options but lacking a bit on the international side. The service was personal but very slow. The dining rooms are a little odd. The lower floor was very loud so we went upstairs. The upstairs dining room was fine but odd in that it had a large TV hanging in the corner. It didn’t fit with the nicer vibe they seem to be going for. They told us our entrees were delayed so we asked for some bread for the table as we were getting hungry. They brought out a small basket of non-descript bread. I was quite surprised to see that they charged us $5 for it when the bill came.
Food is amazing. Presentation on point. Atmosphere is on point whether a small gathering or large, they are set up to handle any size party. The low lights offer an intimate experience and the patio offers an open but secluded drinking atmosphere. I love the scallops and the cheese platter. You can’t go wrong with anything here. The drink selection is amazing and the food is above any other in soulard.
Booked dinner for 4 for my birthday on a Wednesday. I walked in alone (husband parking in the rain) and was greeted by Gail who said, u must b the birthday girl! She called over the owners who introduced themselves and welcomed our group and ushered me to the bar to wait for the rest of our party. The bar wait gal was just as welcoming and made a wonderful craft cocktail. The rest of my party arrived and we had drinks at the bar and enjoyed some fun time. Dinner was great from beginning to end. We had trout cakes, beef special, scallops and salmon. Everyone enjoyed their selections. Wine was yummy too, lots of selections by the glass and bottle. We wud prefer to pass on dessert so instead had ‘mommas chocolate milk’ after dinner drink. Wow- that topped a great evening! Too bad we were there mid-week and missed the live piano music - beautiful grand piano in the middle of the dining room. Thanks for bringing back a cool spot (been to many of the previous iterations at that location) and can’t wait to go back when it is not storming and experience the patio. With so many new STL restaurants coming and going, we hope this one hangs for a long time. Thanks for a fun birthday celebration! Your friends, Katie and Tim.
This was our first time at Oaked and we absolutely loved it! It will definitely be on our list of places for dinner
Food and flavors were amazing! Great place with tasty cocktails.
Great experience. Staff was very nice and food was excellent,
Felt very welcomed from the moment we walked in and throughout the whole evening. Food was excellent, and accommodating to my food allergies. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. Overall a very special evening!
First time diners. From the moment we walked in and was greeted we were pleased. Beautiful setting with several options inside or outside. We dined on the patio on a warm night and they had the fans set up- was very comfortable. All courses were fantastic, as were the cocktails. Will definitely return! Our only issue- and a small one- was that the salads came out right as we were starting our appetizers- we shared it was too soon and they held them for us until better timing.
Food was great, Wine was great, Piano player was great! All and all a great evening! We will absolutely be back.
Food was very creative and presented nicely. Wine selection was enormous with some great selections. Always nice to have hands-on owners who we met. Good new place in Soulard.
My family enjoyed our meal. The staff was very helpful in getting our seating just right---away from the piano (we haven't seen each other in a while and really want to talk plus one daughter can have loud noise issues) and checking the fan level. The meal was great--from apps to desserts--we tried a lot of things and especially enjoyed the charcuterie/cheese board, the baked burrata, the celery/coconut soup and lemon dessert. The drinks were fun and well priced. The water service was a little weird--small pitchers that couldn't service everyone at the table but that was about the only downside we can come up with.
This is a beautiful restaurant with an intimate old world charm without being stuffy. My husband and I had an excellent 24th-anniversary dinner here on a Friday evening. Denise was our server and she is also the sommelier. She was helpful without being overbearing and her wine recommendations were spot on. They have a huge selection of wines by the glass so having Denise's help choosing wine was great. During our meal John, one of the owners came over and introduced himself. He is definitely a hands-on owner who isn't afraid to pitch in and help when needed.
We had a hard time choosing our appetizers so we ended up ordering the trout cakes, pork belly, and the coconut and celery root soup. All of them were wonderful choices. Both the trout cakes and pork belly had a nice sear and the pork belly was some of the best that we have had. The coconut and celery root soup was actually heartier and more flavorful than I thought it would be and was a nice surprise. There was a mix-up that caused a delay in getting our main course order to the kitchen, but Denise worked hard to make it right. There's no getting around the fact that accidents happen but how they are handled is what really matters. We were not in a hurry and our meals were definitely worth the wait. Both the salmon and scallops had a nice sear while still being tender, and both plates were beautifully presented. The spinach sauce with the salmon was outstanding and really made the dish shine. We are new fans of Oaked and will return!
Great food and excellent service
Food was good not great. Portions were small in certain things. - ozark forest mushroom salad - Very small for $18. Charcuterie and cheese slate ridiculously priced for what was received.
Server had no idea how to read the table. Don’t show up 4 times to ask if we are ready to order when we are obviously involved in a discussion
Skip dessert not worth the expense
Glad we tried but didn’t make the list for something we would return to eat again.
Oh and wine selection not good. Might want to review again
We went to Oaked to celebrate our anniversary. We heard about it because their head Sommelier (Denise Mueller) taught a wine course I took. We found Oaked to fulfill our ideas of what a perfect restaurant should be: elegant simplicity, gracious hosts and servers, stride piano in the background, sound baffling to encourage conversation, and then there was the food and wine! Some of the best mussels we've had in St. Louis. Main courses of perfectly prepared beef and duck. And desserts to die for.
We've lived in St. Louis for over 40 years and during that time we've had a succession of restaurants which we've identified as our "go-to" destinations for special occasions. (Jefferson Street Boarding House and Niche come to mind...) We are delighted to add Oaked to that list and hope to return there many times over the upcoming years.
It's a nice venue, nice crowd, quiet and cozy. We sat inside but the outdoor area looked just as inviting. What was a slight disappointment to us, but may not be to others, was that the menu had just changed the day of our reservation. I had chosen the restaurant in advance, very eager to try the entrees from the prior menu. The new menu was very nice, but did not have choices I particularly liked. So my advice is to call ahead to confirm the menu. I also felt it was slightly overpriced for the portions (avg $21-28 per entree and we were able to stop for froyo right after dinner).
We loved Oaked. The service was professional but enthusiastic. We had a tour from the owner, who was just a lovely person. All the different spaces are so cool - and we could really hear each other at dinner, even in the piano bar with the great player. There is also an elegant dining room, a fun-looking bar, a dog-friendly patio with TVs and a cigar deck. The food was really tasty but also interesting, like a real person who really likes real food made it. No pretention, all flavor. Gorgeous presentation. The wine list and sommelier were an excellent addition. Also positive was the free, safe parking.
I've now been to Oaked two times with friends and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Gail made us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in the door. The dining spaces are elegant and warm. Both times I've been on the back patio and hope to check out the veranda and piano room soon. The mussels were amazing with plenty of lightly toasted bread to sop up the broth. The cheese and charcuterie board was a generous portion good for three of us as an appetizer. Last night I had both the street corn and pork belly appetizers and would readily order them again. Finally, you can't go wrong with the beautiful creme brulee.
Great service and fantastic food. If you have not been there, add it to the list as soon as possible.
My wife and I enjoyed one of the best dinner experiences of our 40 years of wedded bliss. From an escorted tour of the building and patio, to our personal sommelier, to a fabulous meal complete with table-side chats with the chef and owner; the evening could not have been better. We will return soon! Thank you!
Lovely new restaurant in Soulard...excellent cocktails, delicious food and wonderful ambiance! Both indoor & outdoor seating...very charming! Service was excellent. Hostess is delightful & the bartender was very knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back!
