Ocean & Acre

Love the dining room. We went in January so we didnt get to enjoy the open air bar or the outdoor dining but it's looks very appealing. The menu is very good with great options and interesting recipes. Execution was just ok. BY FAR, the best dish was the Redfish on a risotto. Outstanding! Highly recommend it. A nice surprise was the bone-in Pork Chop. Really well good and well prepared. We also very much liked the Mussel appetizer and the broth. The calamari however was strangely sweet and not enjoyable. a couple of our main dishes were average in both preparation and inspiration. The fish and chips were more breading than fish and lacked flavor in the batter. The Grouper special was good, not great, and the dish was missing an element and not nearly as interesting as the Redfish preparation.

While the menu and the ambience is nice, manage your expectations with the service as it's very difficult to get truly professional servers in this part of town anyway. Our server was eager and tried hard but was not experienced and knows nothing about wine or spirits or really culinary arts in general.

We will definitely go back. It was overall a good experience.

This place was really solid! The food was great as well as the location - excellent calamari and the fish was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back and highly recommend

We enjoyed our meal. This restaurant is very nice. Service was great. Our waiter, Justin was very attentive. The food was good and served very warm.

Best Lobster Roll outside of Maine! We enjoyed everything we had and the red fish was also amazing! Our server was fantastic and we will definitely continue coming back. I saw were they had some negative reviews from NYE, but even if I wasn't in food and beverage and always working, that's one holiday I would never go out for! I can attest that their food, wine selections and service are on point!

The server was nice but didn’t understand the menu especially for a gluten-free person. The manager did try to rectify the situation with the gluten-free appetizer. The lobster roll was good, but all the other dinners we’re over cooked and tasteless.
It’s a beautiful restaurant, they need to be more consistent with their service and food.

It was a busy night on New Years Eve but the entire staff showed poise and professionalism. Everything served was delicious and cooked to perfection. The food and drinks came to the table quickly despite how busy they were. We will definitely make this one of our regular spots to eat.

Had reservations for 8:30, we didn't get a table until 9:45. They had a limited menu for new years but ran out of food, instead of 5 courses we only had 4. The main risotto dish wasn't cooked and it was 1 spoonful on the plate for the main course. Not at all worth $59

With respect to the fact we had a NYE reservation and we're still in the midst of COVID, our visit here was a complete disaster.

We had a reservation at 8:15pm - got there at 8:05 and proceeded to just stand there by the door until 9:20pm. There's an outdoor bar where we could've waited, but it was so insanely crowded that despite our masks we decided to avoid it.

Once we were finally seated, we waited another 20 mins for even water, another 10 to place our drink order, THEN our deer-caught-in-the-headlights waiter (it was abundantly clear he was very new) tried to explain the prix fixe meal we'd been staring at for the last 30 mins, drinkless. We were towards the back near patio and ticket station, where we watched this poor man hopelessly buzz around with his hands behind his back between tables doing nothing useful.

Eventually - probably around 10pm, we got 1st course, delivered by a different waitress who actually seemed on her game.

We asked her if we were going to get our appetizer and she confusedly explained yes we were supposed to get that first and grabbed it for us immediately. Our appetizer - ONE chip with goat cheese and a little smoked salmon - was good, but had clearly been waiting to be picked up. The main course arrived shortly thereafter by yet another waiter (ours had yet to leave his bubble, we think he was scared) - honestly, it was hot and quite good, so no complaints there.

Our waiter reappeared and explained the desserts we'd selected were sold out and if the alternative was ok - of course it was, no problem. 30 mins later the manager showed up with the sold out dessert instead of the one we agreed to - again, that's fine, it's what we wanted anyway, but this poor waiter... cold creme brûlée that had clearly been flamed ahead of time and refrigerated. Not a big deal, but it was another dent in the value of the entire experience.

Extremely loud, terrible service. Just OK food. Not worth the nearly $200 paid.

Reservation was at 8 sat at 9 so an hour later. Server was great except she got 4 tables at the same time as us-poor management. We left after our initial drinks took 20 minutes. Too many walk-ins maybe?

The food was decent but nothing special. We also made reservations for 7:3 pm and were told our table would be ready 10 minutes late. We were finally seated at 8:30. We only saw our waitress when she took our order and when she brought the bill. I did not think it was worth the money.

For it being New Years Eve 2020, this would have a been a night for NO issues! For a night that might be first for some folks getting out in a long time, this should had a been a time again to not be out of anything. First, didn’t get seated until after 8pm for a 7:30pm reservation. Then service was extremely slow. Then out of wine we ordered a glass of. Then out of dessert we ordered but 2 mins later, the table next to us got 2 of same dessert. We like this place a lot, but NOT very happy this time and this was night they should have wanted to shine!

Christmas Dinner..... seafood stew was extremely bland taste like watery tomato soup out of the can.. then tried the bacon wrap scallops... not a good combination with the sweet sauce on the top.. the rice was under cooked.. the only reason I left a tip was because it’s Christmas and economic times are hard for service workers.... fish and chips my daughter had was just ok a bit greasy.

Food was mediocre. Service was below par. Our entrées showed up 60 seconds after we got our appetizers. Entrées were not warm. Managements attention to detail is horrible. Our first visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, it will be our last.

One of our absolute favorites - surf and turf with a great atmosphere

This is the second time this has happened using open table...if I make a reservation on Open Table why am I being seated at a crammed table in the middle vs a nicer table (booth)...the middle tables should be reserved for walk-ins not people who take the time to reserve.

The food was decent not great...the service was great, but our server was loaded up with tables so she did the best she could. The guy singing was too loud, we couldn’t carry on a conversation. He had a great voice, but I didn’t go to a concert, I went to have a dinner date.

This is my second time eating here. Both times the food was just okay. It is stylized in a way that is trying to be eclectic and competitive in that type of restaurant market, but in my opinion, it falls flat. It sounds weird to say, but it seems like they are trying too hard and would do better if things were kept a bit simpler. However, for a Sundsy night, they were fairly busy, so maybe others would not agree.

This was our first time visiting the restaurant. We had three couples for a Christmas lunch. We didn’t really know what to expect but we were so thrilled. The food was fantastic and the service was great. We ate outside on the patio and it was perfect. We will definitely be back.

The restaurant was nice. They had the outside bar windows open so it made it shut drafty inside. Otherwise, the food was great, service was good and we enjoyed our evening.

So much fun! Great food, cool restaurant and outstanding service. Loved our birthday dinner celebration at Ocean and Acre.

The hushpuppies are crazy good and the salmon, pork chop, grouper and steak were all delicious. And crème brulle (sp.?) for dessert was so yummy! We were next to the door so it was a little cold but great atmosphere otherwise.

We will definitely be back!

The food is not as good as the restaurant ambiance.

Ordered the Alabama Grilled Oysters and they were dry and "fishy". Contrasting that the raw Bluepointe Oysters were delicious. The hushpuppy appetizers were undercooked with the centers still "doughy." Both of our entrees were tasty however. My wife had the bacon wrapped scallops and I chose the lobster roll.

Cocktails WAY too expensive, beware. Asked for a bourbon and was charge 20 each.

Birthday 89 year old Mom. Said they had something for her but took too long. This place is loud!

The Fish and Chips is amazing perfectly done, will definitely go back.

Had a lovely night on the patio

We were there the first time for Thanksgiving dinner and had a pleasant experience. The dishes, while possibly sounding familiar in name and even in description, came with unexpected twists that made them taste unique and refreshing.

Went here for Thanksgiving special. All 5 courses were good, the sides were excellent. Enjoyed Caroline as our server/bartender. A good way to spend this holiday!
