Ocean Terrace Restaurant- Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club
Breakfast service was very slow . Service was mediocre.
Dinner service was much better . The service was better and the food at dinner was delicious.
Maybe it's good in the warmer months but we were moved inside shortly due to the weather and had to leave shortly thereafter because the noise was unbearable and the waiter was not pleasant or attentive. We would only return to give it one more chance because of the professionalism and the kindness exhibited by the hostess. She was wonderful and we did notify her that we made the decision to leave. Not exactly how our anniversary evening was supposed to go.
Worst food we’ve ever had! We were extremely disappointed. When I booked reservation I informed them it was a special occasion, they acknowledged it and served a very poor meal and drinks. 😡
Great service, felt good about our decision to spend a birthday dinner at this restaurant
Perfect temperature of the food , outdoors on a cool windy night!
Such a great meal, delicious . Are there two nights and both nights everything was perfect
To start, the setting is amazing. A rooftop terrace with a water view, Newport type architecture with lively music. The ambiance is fantastic, but the food left a lot to be desired. Our tuna tartar was warmer than room temperature, our salmon was well undercooked, and the potatoes to our short rib were crunchy. This venue hosts an incredible space for a cocktail or lunch, but it could use some improvement from the kitchen.
We arrived on time for dinner (we had a reservation) only to be told that there were no tables available with heaters and that it would be at least a 45 minute wait. We agreed to sit at a table with no heaters even though it was very cold. Our waiter was fine but he clearly had too many tables as he disappeared about 1/2 way through our meal. Food was way overpriced for the quality - steak was just okay, cod with lobster mac was barely edible. Salad was decent as was the cheesecake.
Delicious fish entrees and appetizers. Cosmo drink was fair. Nice outdoor seating, very comfortable and the outdoor heaters a plus. Will definitely dine here again.
Arrived on time for our reservation only to be told that the 3 open tables that we could see were being held for a large group that was supposed to arrive at any time. We were then told that we could wait for the next available table or sit inside (which is not an option for us as our son is “high risk” for COVID). We decided to wait. After waiting about 20 minutes, we saw the hostess seat 2 separate “parties” at 2 of the 3 tables that were supposedly being held for a large group. When I approached the waitress she said that the large group had not arrived, and, therefore, she decided to seat people at the tables. I reminded her that we’d been waiting to be seated and she said we could have the “next” table but only if the people who had made the reservation for that table didn’t show up. What???? She said she was going to call them and still see if they were coming to dinner. By this point, we’re completely confused as we had a reservation, we were there and waiting to be seated, but she wants to call someone else to see if they’re going to show up? Makes no sense. And, we can clearly see that there’s still 1 of the 3 tables open that she’d been holding for the large group that never showed up. I asked about that table and now she says that we can sit there if we want to. She said she was the “low man on the totem pole” as the hostess and that it’s not up to her to make decisions on what tables are open and who gets seated. This restaurant is very poorly managed. Wait staff was friendly. Food was not worth the price. I would not recommend.
It was a very cool, late season night. It was somewhat difficult to stay warm enough to really enjoy the food. With that said, the food was just OK.
Terrible food. Entrees were lukewarm. Chicken was very dry and sides were tasteless. Cod was decent but accompanying sides were cold. Very limited wine menu. Would stay at Ocean Edge resort again, but would not go back to the restaurant.
Food wasn’t really great
Took the beef, $40 was good
The mashed potato was cold
Took also the fish, vegetables was really bad( sticky rice) bland. No flavor cold
Fish was ok
Food was good but barely and veggies and potatoes served with my main course. Service was rather slow to get additional drinks and our bill at the end .
Had lunch. Service and atmosphere was great great time
Our waitress was friendly and very efficient. Food was delicious. Beautiful surroundings.
Wait staff was very attentive and professional. They honored the reservation on-time. Disappointed that they didn’t have heat lamps on the outside patio when it was a chilly evening. Food was very good. Presentation was nice.
Good food and service
Location is awesome
Wonderful birthday celebration! Food was delicious ....we love their crab cakes !
Only suggestion would be to put some heaters on the patio for warmth.
Service was great, friendly staff and food was good . View was nice
The ambiance was fantastic. We were tucked away in a quiet library room with only a few other guests. It was intimate, but comfortably spaced between tables. The service was flawless and waitstaff were very attentive and professional. The food was delicious, perfectly plated and prepared.
We had such a great time every one was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend 👌
Really poor service and very spiteful, rude staff.
Poor service, underwhelming ambiance. They didn’t even acknowledge my husband”s birthday. Food was mediocre and service was blah! Maybe cause we were the only people of color! Would not recommend!
Ocean Terrace at the Ocean Edge Resort is a delightful place to dine, with extensive outdoor seating. On a recent occasion, two members of our group of four had excellent cod and halibut entrees, while a friend and I were somewhat disappointed in our braised lamb shanks that were both tougher and fattier than they should have been. While I still would recommend Ocean Terrace because of its setting and ambiance, given the generally high prices, we must say we were disappointed in our recent meals.
The view was amazing and the food was delicious. We had crab cakes which were almost all crab. Amazing! Then we had the mussels and the sauce they were in was delish! The only downfall was the wait staff. Our waiter wasn't too attentive, so we waited a while to get drinks and our bill. But overall, a great spot to celebrate a special occassion.
Ate on the terrace on a relatively cool night. Service was excellent. Food very good.
Outdoor dining on terrace during pandemic IS tricky. Wondering why they don't have more heat lamps for the fully open part of the terrace? Mid September was cold & windy. Servers were kind and nice. For the price, food was good, not great. Charcuterie board was preassembled and chilled: cheese & honey meant to be served at room temperature. 2 slices of strawberry were wilted. One piece of crostini impossibly hard, not able to bite into. Haddock was delicious but overly salted crust - unpleasant. Green beans were overcooked, grits & beans were chilly when meal arrived. I know it's hard to plan for all weather with outdoor dining, but for the price, I think more attention should be paid.
The menu is VERY limited but the service was lovely and the setting is beautiful.
Limited menu due to COVID19 which was disappointing but the fund was good and the service was good as well.
Our food was excellent and our waitress was excellent very sweet lady
very good ambience. very good service, especially by the host (as well as our server christina). swordsfish entree was nicely prepared, not overdone. steak tacos were a hit. swordfish tacos, not so much. halibut entree was excellent.
Great and outstanding location and service but definitely need a little larger menu for breakfast with few more options. I wish a yogurt parfait or something simpler and less expensive would be great on the menu. Would definitely come back but would love few more choices. We also had lunch there first day and breakfast two days. Wish couple more healthier options and more salads were available but gem of a spot and view!
Great place to have a drink and some light fare while looking out at the Bay.
Good drinks, mediocre food, good service, expensive
A beautiful evening to be at Ocean Terrace for dinner. Four of us enjoyed the evening. Ordered drinks - all good except a Cosmo-switched to wine. Crab cakes were fabulous, as were the steak tacos. Oysters were very disappointing - came on ice that was basically “water” and barely a bite in each oyster. Entrees were excellent. Halibut cooked to perfection, lamb “chop” was delicious, and a fabulous beef tenderloin. We will go back regardless of minor disappointments. We will order wine and steer clear of the oysters at this establishment.
We were there at 11:30 when they opened. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks and over 45 minutes for our order of pork belly fritters to arrive. The fritters were rock hard with very little pork belly and basically inedible. Margarita's are $18. Hard pass on this place.
The Salmon was undercooked.
Wasn't what I thought it would be.
Atmosphere was fantastic. Food was delicious. I will return!
