O'Connor's Public House
HAPPY HOUR MENU
Enjoy a great selection of low priced appetizers and $1 off alcoholic beverages.
Great service / good food - consistent with every other time we have been here!
Met friends for lunch. Very good food and large portions. We had corned beef and cabbage, Guinness stew, and a pulled pork sandwich. All of us were very happy with our choices.
A bit loud. The Taste of Ireland is very good and the Donegal chips. Guinness stew could have been a bit hotter with a second slice of bread.
We got the “snug” which was like a fun, private room. The bartender was funny and attentive and the food was very tasty. I had the chicken curry burger.
Great food and enjoyed Bloody Mary Bar!
Everything was great. Camille, our Waitress was outstanding. Super prompt. Meals were: Fish n Chips, Fisherman Seafood Baker Dish, Shepard’s Pie and Mixed Grill. (Chicken/Steak)
All were excellent. As always. It’s loud in there but you can hear each other.
Ordered 4 apps and 6 dinners. Potato skins, chicken fingers, irish egg rolls and irish poutine fries. The apps were decent. Potatoes were over done but still ok. Ordered a few of the dublin Chicken boxties.
Nothing special about these. Could have ordered something a bit better. The mac and cheese with a chicken breast was the best.
Best pub / bar in downtown Rochester...hands down.
Great food and very nice server! We were several minutes past our 6PM reservation but there were not issues still getting seated right away- even on a Friday evening!
Excellent Irish pub experience. Great food, great service and live music!
Fun place with excellent food and many choices. Liquor prices are on the high side but the food prices are modest. Beer drinkers will love the expansive list.
Food and service was excellent. We sat in the Snug. Very enjoyable for all
Highly recommend this restaurant
We had a very good first experience here on Monday evening with our grandsons. Busy and noisy but our reserved table was waiting for us when we arrived. We will definitely be back!
Had 7pm reservation and was sat at 7:45pm. Three groups that came in after us were sat first and didn’t call ahead. Our waiter was solid.
Great meal. I always get a Reuben minus the bread (low carb) and a side salad instead of the fries. My husband always gets a burger. One friend got a fish sandwich and the other one got the Irish trio. Excellent food as always. Best corn beef around. Keeps us coming back.
We really enjoyed our dinner there. Food was good, serving sizes were just right. The only negative thing was that the speaker for the music was directly over our table and it was a little too loud. Other than that it was great.
We never ate. We made a reservation on open table, but it only meant we were on a wait list. We were told it would be 40 mins. When i said we had a reso, the hostess said at the bottom of open table it states its only for holding spot during holidays. I understand it’s busy (I worked in restaurants for years), but in my opinion it should not be available then. It’s misleading. My wife and I came with our 2 younger daughters and only came because of the ability to make a reso. We then had to load them back up in the car and go some place else. Thankfully the garage doesn’t charge the first hour. I’ve always loved o’conners, but think you should remove open table if you can’t honor a reservation. Or at least have something that pops out more. My busy Dad brain never saw it.
Great food and service. Noise level was a bit annoying.
food was not near as good as it has been in the past. chicken strips way over cooked.
A true Irish Pub. Great drinks, food. Keep track of your sports teams on the bar side-have a more intimate conversation and dinner on the dining side.
Why do you offer this if it makes no difference in wait time?
Fantastic atmosphere and food! A lively bar scene but great place for people of all ages. Most of our party had never been there before and they loved it!
We made a reservation then got there and they said “it didn’t count as a reservation because of priority seating” so we had to wait 50 extra minites
Loved the entertainment tonight!!
Great food, great atmlsphere
Food , drinks, and service excellent. Outstanding with our peanut, tree nut, and fish allergies. Finally somewhere with a separate fryer for fish and finally able to enjoy onion rings, which were spectacular, and other fried food at a restaurant. The fried foods we got were not greasy or heavy but very good. We were all very happy with our meals.
We ordered wings as an appetizer but these tasted as if these had been re-fried. They were hard and tasteless. The wings were bad quality and pricy compared to the wonderful main dishes. For the main courses we had the fresh salmon and a steak boxty which were both very good.
The atmosphere was load but typical for a pub environment.
Great Old Fashioned!
Loved it! They have special cube for birthdays !! It was great!
Great food, and good service. It was a very busy Saturday night, so the noise level was at a maximum.
First time visiting 09/15/19. Very impressed. I will return.
o' connor's is one of my favorite places to go! the food there is great and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. i would 10/10 recommend.
Had corned beef and cabbage. Very good and lean . Also had their Trinity- shepherds pie, beef stew and chicken pot pie. All were very good but very small. The cook and service was very, very slow. There wasn't many people in restaurant so it didn't make sense.
I had the bankers and mash and haven't had sausage this good since I left England. The music was nice but didn't need to be amplified so loud. If I had one complaint it would be about the tea, please get someone who knows how teach you to make a proper cuppa. I was brought a clear glass with tepid water and a pathetic tea bag on the side - HORRIBLE!
Our server was very polite and the kitchen staff was kind enough to make me cocktail sauce from scratch
I love O'Connor's Public House. The food is always delicious, incredibly overpriced, but delicious nonetheless.
The problem was our waiter. He was insulting, obnoxious, and acting like he was "on" something. He was covered in tattoos, which wasn't the problem, be he didn't have an off switch. He was dancing in front of us and just plain acting like a ridiculous idiot.
The point is this: He didn't have to put on a show! The entertainment, which was a band, was already playing. His schtick was completely annoying as heck. I can't say that I will be back to O'Connor's. I'll miss it, too.
Hello Andrea I am very happy to hear that your food was good and delicious. As for the pricing unfortunately the area that we are in demands the menu pricing to be higher then other areas that are not downtown due to high rent and the cost of labor, we pay our kitchen staff well. I am sorry to hear that the waiter was acting obnoxious and made you feel uncomfortable. I assure you that this type of behavior is not excepted here and it will be addressed whit this employee. We hope to see you soon
We celebrated a birthday. Had dinner, drinks, dessert and stayed for a little live music. We had our first date here 5 years ago.
I used to love O’Connor’s, but this last time visit was not good. I ordered the Irish Trinity and was very disappointed. The Chicken Pot Pie did not have any chicken, the Guinness stew had one large piece of very tough meat, the potatoes were served cold and again had a very large chunk in the middle, the Shepherds pie was the only item on the plate cooked as expected. I have had this several times and all were good, but this was not. Our waitress was very nice, but was not the one to serve our food and didn’t check on us. We didn’t see her on the floor until she quickly dropped off the bill.
Both my children ordered medium well burgers and they were both cooked beyond well done.
This visit was supposed to be a celebration meal and turned into a big bummer. I don’t know if we will return anytime soon.
Food was good. I tried the corned beef booty. The potato pancake is fairly bland. The filling was nice and the grilled veggies were fabulous.
