Excellent ambiance and great food choices for brunch and lunch!
Wonderful! Will definitely return.
Brunch with an old friend
Me and a co worker tried the lunch menu for the first time. The selection was really nice and the food was delicious. Service was a little slow for lunch, however the ambience was fantastic.
Oeste is a great find--fun, loads of ambiance, great food! Everyone seemed to be celebrating, enjoying themselves. If you aren't celebrating, come to enjoy the festive atmosphere and soak in the joy of others. Our group of 5 made special requests for accommodations and food, and the wait staff complied with pleasure. I am happy to recommend Oeste and will return soon.
Went there to brunch on Sunday, no warm welcome- no actual ask about our reservation. Just showed us to the table. Service was terrible, terrible. Food was not plated well, felt like I was at a diner vs. what the beautiful, surrounding atmosphere was like. I really wanted to like Oeste and to make Oeste my spot, they need to overcome some real challenges to make this happen. I
Came here for a business lunch. Nice selection of beer on the menu. Wait staff was good about refilling water. Food was good. We ordered the brussels sprouts and I don't usually like them, but I was eating these. I had the nicoise salad which was good. It was nice to be outside and they arranged the umbrellas so we didn't get too hot.
My wife and I went for brunch, and loved the atmosphere. Drinks were really good as well.
Pancakes were awesome, as were the biscuits. Will be back to further explore menu. They have a rooftop deck. Too hot today, but next time
Slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww lunch service on a Friday. Our entrees took 45 minutes to come out. Surly waitress. Was she in a bad mood or was that just her personality? Food nothing to get excited about. Menu sounds better than food actually tastes. Giving 3 stars because of the rooftop seating.
This place is such a good idea on paper - comfort food menu, full bar, well appointed space including outdoor area, etc. Hope they make it work. Competition will be fierce in Old Oakland soon. Waitstaff, restaurant cadence and food quality need attention.
I've been to Oeste 2 times. The first time was great all around. The second time, more recently, was not as great. Would like to give it another shot but not as eager to recommend.
So much to like about this place. Great roof deck. Great bar. The right amount of food at the right price. This is a gem of a spot in Old Oakland and easily one of my favorites. May the anchovy stuffed fried olives forever live on this menu.
We were not aware ahead of time that children were not allowed in the restaurant, it's not clearly listed on their website. We were accommodated in the cafe area but, of course, service suffered as we were not in the usual path or line of sight of the servers. Food otherwise was great though!
Thank you to Genevieve and her team for allowing us to host a baby shower on their rooftop! The staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed the ambiance.
This is my 4th time at Oeste, but my first time for brunch. We had a table on the rooftop, very nice space. The waitress made sure we had shade over us, very friendly. Food was very good, especially the sweet potato pancakes, which we ordered to share. I will definitely be back for brunch!
I love love love the ambiance here - best in Oakland! I bring all visitors and new arrivals to show off. Drinks and rooftop are stellar. Food is hit or miss.
