My fiancé and I have even wanted to check out Oggie’s for a while. Service was very attentive yet not intrusive. It was a very intimate experience. In light of it being a very cold day in January and pandemic concerns the team executed very well. The food was cooked to perfection. Do yourself a favor, order the ribs…and then order them again! Can’t wait to come back with friends.
Excellent meal! Garlic bread was amazing. Small menu but everything was done very well. We would love to dine here again!
Our family of 8 celebrated Christmas Eve here after suddenly losing our matriarch a month ago. Oggies was kind enough to take our small group and we were able to have a nice family gathering with amazing food and cocktails. Loved the new decor. Service was warm and gracious. Thank you!
Lovely holiday family dinner
Christmas Eve lovely gathering
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve meal at the restaurant. We had a special request that was more than accommodated. While we thought the Caesar salad was so-so, all of our entrees were delicious. Service was slow but it seemed like it was due to understaffing—our server was not slacking by any means.
I wanted to like Oggies because Hotel Metro has always been a favorite of my husband and I's but Oggies was decidely unimpresive. The first impression i had was that the carpet was dirty and not vacummed . The next issue was the coffee was super bitter and not at all rich and delicious. I know that isn't the end all to a restaurant but for breakfast its pretty important. The Sammy was just ok the sausage patty was fairly gristly so I didn't eat that.
Our waitress was very good and she was a definite bright spot. I think Oggies could be really really good but there has to be some definite improvements
Visited for a pre-theater dinner before a show at the Pabst. It is walking distance to the theater. Had a wonderful dinner! Service was spectacular. The ambiance is upscale and fun. Food and wine were excellent. Would highly recommend. Will definitely return.
Very nice wine list by the glass and reasonably priced. The four of us each had something different and they were all excellent. The mortadella sandwich was very tasty and a little different from the average non-burger sandwich. I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection and had good flavor and the heirloom tomato relish was outstanding.
They were out of cocktail sauce for the oysters and the brick chicken was way undercooked. Appetizers were also too salty.
If you are looking more for cocktails and a level up on bar food this would be the place. The ambiance is great, the menu selection needs to elevate some before I would really consider it again for dinner.
What a nice little gem of a restaurant. Since it is rather new and there is the ongoing staffing shortages, the menu is a bit limited now. But, as the most competent and lovely manager, Becky, explained to us, the menu will slowly build over the coming months. Despite that, the dishes that are coming out of the kitchen are inventive and unique. My husband had the Caesar salad and it was fresh and classic -- was even topped with anchovies, the proper way to serve a Caesar. We both opted for the Milwaukee Burger. It is served with two "smash patties," reminiscent of those soda fountain smashed burgers that sizzled on the griddle. Other little surprises in the Milwaukee Burger that elevated its pedigree are cheddar skirt, a crunchy griddled disk of cheddar that forms a skirt around the sandwich; and house made bread and butter pickles that are fresh and that have no resemblance to grocery store pickles. And the "Bougie Ranch" sauce was a slip of yum. Wine list is just right. I enjoyed the Spanish tempranillo. Will definitely revisit. The setting in Hotel Metro (now a Marriott Signature property) is stylish and intimate. The lobby bar could use some upgrading, however, to be a bit more inviting.
Food and service was excellent. I would recommend this for a pleasant night out for dinner
We went to Oggies for dinner before a show downtown. The limited menu gave each of us a great option. It was cold outside, but the ambiance made us feel tucked into a cozy piece of architecture with great views of the trendy passersby on the street outside. The food was remarkably good and our server wasn't just pleasant, but made sure we got served with enough time to make our curtain. We'll be back.
Food was lack luster and some of the seasonings were WAY too heavy. Overall it was just ok.
The food was very good, particularly the variety of starters. Good beer list. It’s connected to the hotel so nice spot for a dinner or a snack.
Oysters were amazing
My husband and I were guests at Hotel Metro and dined at Oggie's for breakfast. It is an excellent choice for dining, and the food is delicious, and the service excellent. Mandie, the Server, exuded warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness. Outstanding excellence in service. Chef Aaron made time to talk with us about the preparation of the Oggie's Potatoes when he learned of our interest. The potatoes were unusually flavorful. The bacon was perfectly prepared to the "right" doneness, had no grease, and was a rare event when dining out. Due to schedule constraints, we were only able to eat breakfast. But, we return in December and have made reservations for breakfast and dinner and are eagerly looking forward to it. Well done, Oggie's!
The place is really nice, excellent service and food was delicious.
Great night at Oggies…food and service were great!!!
Cute place, the food is just really bad and cold… and expensive.
A total sleeper in Milwaukee the food is sensational. Chef is way cool enjoys harvesting foods from the most ecological sensitive purveyors and is super friendly. You simply must dine here.
Enjoyed the place. Ambiance was nice.
My family and I tried all their appetizers on the menu. My fav is the hoisin and ginger ribs.
Drinks were excellent
Nice restaurant and bar. Limited entree choices, but very good.
Date night. Outdoor dining - with shade due to building to the south. Noise level was fine - what we expected - street cars and trolley noise.
Great server - friendly and engaging. Kettle Chips and dips for opener was exceptional. Enjoyed Sauvignon Blanc wine and people watching. My main dish was their hamburger and seasoned fries. Very good. My wife got a Caesar salad with chicken adder. Too much dressing and overall average. Next time dressing in the side.
The restaurant was very warm, for some reason. Also, the waitress, who seemed to have been in training, brought the bill to our table before we'd even finished eating and didn't ask if we wanted dessert. I had to bring up dessert to her and then she said they only had one thing (a lemon tart) that no one wanted. The entrees were good, but I doubt I'd go back here for dinner.
Ordered chicken caesar salad was very good, bartender makes excellent drinks. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. I will be back.
Made a reservation here to celebrate a birthday with a very small group of friends. Took so long for our drinks to come and waiter never came back to take our food order! We ended up just asking for the check and left. Was late to another event due to the slowness!
It was great. We were visiting Milwaukee for the day and really enjoyed our time at the restaurant
Service was fantastic! Food was delicious! Loved the decor!
Burgers were great! Not a fan of the seasoning on the fries. Service was fantastic.
Waited nearly an hour for food and had to go to bar myself after drinks never arrived. Good food but horrible service all around.
The food took a long time and was cold. We were one of two tables.
Menu is limited but excellent. Very attentive wait staff. Nice dining option.
Great! Would go back for drinks before dinner any day.
Great spot for a drink and bite. Wonderful re-do
We visit on Christmas Eve. The staff was very friendly and the burgers were amazing!
We were fans of c1880 and wanted to try the new restaurant he opened in the Hotel Metro. Many of the same items are on the new menu, plus some other interesting appetizers and entrees. We three enjoyed the experience eating inside, and a server was one we recognized from c1880. My husband had corn soup and the duck which he really liked, and I had salmon with elephant beans. Very tasty. Daughter had the gnocchi. Desserts were special-especially the" Watchamacallit". That dessert was served in a smaller bowl than we remembered, but the taste was the same. Awesome. Coffee was not hot enough, but they quickly made a new pot and it was steaming and satisfying with our desserts. Yes, we will be back soon. The new dining room is warm and inviting.
New restaurant opening in the middle of a pandemic.... well yes when Chef Hauck is at the helm. Patio dining was perfect. Service was awesome and the food was delightful. Go and enjoy yourself!
Awesome meal. The corn soup is next level. Every one of our starters and mains were fantastic. The ribeye was particularly excellent as was the steak tartare. Can’t say enough about the great hospitality provided by Aaron. He was top notch.
