Really really really good gourmet food, cooked by a chef from Napoli who creates dishes in the same traditional way his Nona used to cook it. We licked every single plate with our fingers! It was absolutely delicious! And no need to go to Sydney for that! What else to ask for?

It was suggested by the waitress that we share an entree between 2 people. This was one calamari (which was delicious) at a cost of $24. This gave us no more than about 4 bites each. Not good value for money.
The main course, squid ink scialatielli, prawns, spinach, chilli seemed to lack flavour.
Overall, with the additional cost of wine, I feel this was not good value for money.
Dear Sharps, Thank you for your valuable comments. I believe an entree was recommended to be shared as two main pasta were ordered then. I am sorry that we can not fill a plate of fresh Australian whole calamari from Martin Seafood for $24. Unfortunately Osteria cannot bit the price of pubs serving frozen overseas calamari. The additional cost of a glass of French or Italian wine doesn't come complimentary with our dishes. But this is a nice tought, free wine in restaurant will be very nice:)

Really delicious food and lovely wine list, staff were very welcoming and the restaurant has a nice cozy feel, the sourdough with smoked butter is the real MVP, it made our meal.

This was our first visit to Osteria il cocca but not to the venue that this restaurant occupies. Previously this venue was extremely noisy and unfortunately not much has changed.
The food was delicious and there was good variety on the menu. However I do feel that having lived on the Central Coast for over 30 years this restaurant is overpriced for the area and portion sizes.
The wine we had was spectacular but I would like to see some Australian wines on the wine list. We really should be supporting our outstanding local wines.
Service was attentive and professional.
We will return tho Osteria il cocca but unfortunately due to price it will not become one of our frequently visited restaurants unlike others in the area.

I will not have any Australian wines on my list for the reason that it will not respect our concept. Nicola the chef is Italian and I am myself from both world, France and Italy. I want to sell a wine I know, with the story of my countries that I know and where I grew up. Our guest can discover then the food and wine we grew up with.
Superb evening - inspired food/wine - excellent service - value for money menu - would have like a quieter atmosphere but that surely did not detract from the evening. Don't miss it!

Brilliant food in all regards, presentation, originality and of course flavour. One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever dined. Hosts are very attentive and family friendly, a must visit food experience if you are in the area.

What a surprise! A brilliant newish Italian restaurant with a fresh new outlook on Italian food. Everything is cooked over wood fires, so it reveals a wonderful smokey edge to the flavours. Even the glorious butter has gentle smokey infusions.Each of the two entres and our mains fantastic. dare I say "memorable!" You have to see the gelato being prepared from scratch before your eyes with a dollop of liquid nitrogen added as it is served. Show business! We loved it. Can't wait to go back. We were so disappointed with the food. We have been before and loved the food but this visit the pasta was tasteless and dry and our gnocchi was burnt.
Hi Dear MAPA, As per Saturday we don't recall anyone complening about the food, not when ask or cleared. Wondering if you came before if you would have let us know you did not like it, we could organise something for you. Always easier to go and hide behind a screen rather than facing the staff and chef. There is a very enjoyable pleasure to destroy a reputation of a chef and a team, thinking the "reviewers" have the new taste buds of the most finest professionnel reviewers of the country!

Beautiful food, always. A challenging evening for the kitchen and staff due to a power outage that affected the entire town. This did not detract from the amazing dishes and service.

I do hesitate in saying no as I like to try and be positive but 3 out of our 4 main dishes weren't that great. Unfortunately there was too much salt on the tomato/olive sauce that was on top of the whole snapper, though the snapper itself was cooked beautifully and was nice and fresh. The crab/chilli bisque was heavily oiled and stodgy. The entree of kingfish was good so maybe it was just what we chose.

Before reviewing a whole team that works very hard to bring our guest the best we possibly can. if you read the reviews this kind of comments are not usual, maybe the food was not at your personnel taste that night. We are happy to showcase our food again.
We had a lovely meal and the whole family enjoyed the experience. The staff were very accommodating and we would recommend it to friends and family.
We had been recommended to visit this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed! The wait staff were friendly and attentive. The service was wonderful. But the food... oh my gosh. The food was outstanding! The gnocchi in particular was absolutely delicious! We can not wait to return!

Just what the neighbourhood has been crying out for. A terrific eatery with great ambience. Sophisticated yet accessible with delicious food, a good reasonably priced wine list and professional service this is the best addition to the peninsula we’ve had in recent times.

Paid $70 for 4 course degustación. Dishes were well presented. The duck in a beetroot and cherry sauce was the best of the dishes. The other courses didn’t have a balanced flavours. Sourdough bread was the first course. The gnocchi was beautiful and soft but had a bland sauce. Perhaps there are other items on the standard menu that are nice however the signature degustación needs to really shine and it didn’t this time unfortunately. Wine was excellent.
We had a wonderful meal on Thursday evening for my birthday. We chose the $70 four course menu, and the food was delicious, very fresh and well presented. We also had the pairing wines which were of excellent quality from France and Italy. The staff was attentive and efficient and explained each dish being served.

Food was fabulous. Best gnocchi I have ever eaten and i have only recently returned from southern Italy. The bread and special butter divine and so different. Staff were delightful

Food was good, not the best of it's kind I've eaten but still very enjoyable. Service was lovely and friendly - the only reason for my rating is that the gaps between a couple of courses were too long for us. It was a great experience though and sitting on the front deck felt a bit like being on holiday in Europe. Have the Tiramisu - it's divine.

Brilliant chef with a repertoire that’s extensive. Have eaten in multiple places that have been under his/ her management and never been disappointed.
Highly recommended and thankful that someone of this skill set has finally made it to the Central Coast.
Wine list is creative and affordable.
Booked a table for 6 people and all thoroughly enjoyed.
