Like the changes for sure! Reworked menu and decor changes inside make for a more enjoyable experience. Will definitely go back!
The environment changed. It is dark and parts of the wall are black and it is too crowded. The delightful peasant environment with the open kitchen that made it our favorite restaurant is gone. The cheery and bright environment is gone. The food has changed so that you get too much and the prices are higher. Why would you ever get rid of half portions of pasta. We paid $20 more for the same but too much food. My favorite arugula salad is unrecognizable and TASTELESS. I feel like I lost a friend. Go back to original environment and food and just raise the price.
We know you have to make business decisions but we are really disappointed. We don’t want to change from our once favorite restaurant.
What a great night! The service was excellent, the food was delicious and they stayed open for us long after everyone else left. And the best touch: they had a card on our table wishing our friend a happy birthday!
Overall meal was good with a few exceptions. The calamari in the appetizer was cut very thick and it was tough and chewy. My husband’s steak was tasty but had unwanted fat and gristle on the edges. I had the salmon which was excellent. The sides included with the meal were outstanding- you could have made a meal of just them! As it was the day before Valentine’s Day I will give them a pass as multiple people could have had the day off. Our server was lovely by the way.
Best Italian we’ve had in NJ, hands down. Everything is incredibly delicious, the service is always friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is cozy. Highly recommend!
Being from New Jersey but living in Los Angeles, it’s a must that when I get a chance to go back to NJ I have to eat a good Italian meal and Osteria Moroni did not disappoint.
I was in Basking Ridge for a work trip and didn’t know where to go so I found this place on Yelp and was able to get a table. The place was surprisingly crowded for a Wednesday evening but we got seated at a great table and man was the food outstanding.
We split a pizza and I had the Chicken Parm, a dish I use to test all new Italian joints and all I could say was wow!
The portion was huge, the sauce was the perfect mix of sweet and tangy and the pasta it was served on top of was delicious.
Now I’m almost looking forward to my next business trip!!!
Best chopped salad we have ever had. Shared by 2 and still couldn’t finish. Chicken parm always reliable, tender and just the right amount of pasta. Truffle pasta still our favorite. Was not a busy night, waited 10 min to be seated and service is just slow. Slow getting a drink. Will go back for the food.
Very underwhelming to say the least. Food was average. Service was robotic.
We were there on New Years Eve not realizing that they had a $65 three course fixed price menu!
Always good food and attentive service. Was a Sunday night and surprisingly noisy. Also, they have removed curtains from the windows so when seated near the windows it can be quite chilly in the winter. Soundproofing or draperies would help.
Amazing place - love it every time. Food is amazing - fast and friendly service.
My mom’s 86 birthday.
Chopped salad is a must! So many wonderful flavors. Chicken Parm is always reliable. The shrim scampi was good, a little dry. Eggplant rollatini a was fantastic. Tables are a little cramped, it is difficult for servers to get around easily. Good value, a local favorite.
The food is excellent every time we go there. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the food. And overall great experience every time.
Service is really so so at this place but the food is good so we just deal with it. The chopped salad is the absolute best! Can’t go wrong with a meal. We prefer to sit and eat at the bar to ensure good service.
Very nice. It was our first time there but won’t be our last. Homemade pastas were very good
Loved thier version of a whiskey sour , and the antipasto!
Decided we needed a change so went on Wednesday evening and selected the date night price fix.
Good value - enjoyed the meal.
Amazing food, humble and at home experience. Great place for a date night or family dinner.
As always, the arugula salad was delicious and enough for two to share. I had the bronzino which is my absolute favorite. We all had something different and everyone enjoyed every bite. The sorbet and gelato was a wonderful finale!
Service was excellent. A lot of nice touches for our anniversary, a card on the table, some bubbles for a toast. Lauren, our server was extremely helpful! Food was amazing and there were many options. Will definitely go back.
Consistently good food with lively ambience. Service at Morini is always great.
As always the food was terrific. But the service was awful. Restaurant was crowded and there were only two wait staff to take care of the entire dining room. We had to get up and go to the bar to order a drink and then bartender came over to taken our order and then the timing of the meal was off. We really like it here and will chalk this up to a bad night.
My favorite place for a special occasion. Great food, great service, reasonable prices.
The pasta is insane! The meatballs, meh. Great wine list.
What a surprise! A casual but upscale venue with delicious food and wine. From the carrot arancini with a delicious sauce to the tagliatelle bolognese, wild boar special and steak entrees, we were delighted. Everything was super good from Appetizers through dessert. The wait staff was very attentive and considerate. We will definitely be going back again soon.
A glorified pizzeria with high prices. If you are going to charge the prices this restaurant does, it should be a much nicer atmosphere.
It’s always good! We especially like that you can order pizza from Nicoletta next door
We had an incredible dinner at Osteria Morini for my husband’s birthday! The food was amazing (rivaled meals we had in Rome over the summer). Every dish was super delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive & shout-out to GM, Joe, who made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back!
Some food seems to lack taste- mixed salad sitting in fridge too long? Prices very high. Is this old favorite losing its allure?
Drawn to the place for its consistently great food and we were not disappointed. Bronzino and halibut were very good. The staff was not very attentive. From the bar to the dinner service we waited and waited to order and then between courses. Courses weren’t cleared, perhaps they were short staffed or there is a training issue.
Always a great meal! Great neighborhood spot with good drinks and excellent homemade pasta.
Great food. Sat us near a party that was in the middle of the restaurant. The people in the party were rude, loud, and obnoxious. The they should never have taken a party on a Friday night.
Good food, attentive server, very pleasant ambience.
We love this restaurant. There pasta is homemade, their pizzas are delicious and the rest of their food is consistently delicious.
I have been coming here for years(before it changed its name). Have never had a negative experience. food is great as is the service. Price is reasonable . I will keep coming back!
Walk in the door and your in Italy. Always a fabulous dinner with incredible service.
It was absolutely wonderful. Amazing food and great service!
Incredible food, generous portions and date night special was a great value. What we like best about Osteria Morini is that each dish is unique. There are so many other Italian restaurants in the area that have the same men items all with the same sides. The menu at Osteria Morini is truely unique. Can’t wait to go back
Staff friendly and accommodating
Food was very good
Will definitely be back
