good service , quiet and comfortable lunch that you can enjoy a relaxing lunch .
Our waiter was very attentive. The ambiance was very nice. The food was delicious but way to expensive. There was a menacing fly that continued to hover around our table. I think this was because the doors to the patio area were left open. May I suggest that you keep them closed? Those outside expect flies and bugs but those of us that choose to sit inside would prefer not to have to keep swatting a fly away from our food.
Great ambience, as would be expected from one of Houston’s mainstay lunch destinations. Interesting, diverse menu and excellent service.
Service was terrific and friendly. Food was very good although the dessert was a bit too sweet covering up the flavors of the ingredients (white and chocolate mousse cake).
Outstanding service!!! The Tres leches was to die for!!!
Lovely place to dine… only disappointment was the bread… portion size is way too small.
Delicious meal and great atmosphere. Only issue was the time between ordering and meal being served. Took about 25 minutes.
Went for Fathes Day. All good was delicious and service exceptional
Our group of 6 met for dinner at Ouisies, a long time favorite. The food, as usual was very good (salmon was perfectly cooked, other fish dishes very tasty, chicken fried steak great as always). They seemed short on staff (a common challenge these days), but our server was extremely courteous and the manager even pitched in to help, which was appreciated. The only negative was the bar service; the drinks were just not remarkable. Wine selections were fine.
We look forward to a return trip before long.
As expected, food and service were wonderful! Muffins and rolls are always delicious. Fish was perfectly cooked
This was our first time and not sure we’ll be back. I made a reservation for Saturday night after hearing what great food and service. We get there, valet and enter. The place was super busy but with events which took up most of the restaurant. We were lead to the back room which had no a/c only ceiling fans. We sat down and asked if we could be moved but were told that the air conditioned rooms were occupied by events! Obviously if we’d have known this ahead of time (especially as hot as it is and my husband wearing a long sleeve button down) we’d have made other arrangements. Needless to say we left and were offered no apology no regret and even paid valet for the 10 minutes we were there. Hmmmn not sure if anyone would go back after this experience.
Aldo was very attentive and made our wonderful lunch even more special.
Appetizers we had were spinach dip and crab with salmon were really good. Steak and chicken fried steak were ok. The tres leches cake was really good.
The food was wonderful. We had the grilled snapper tacos, Thai salad and the shrimp and avocado salad. All excellent dishes. The restaurant is a sweet place with plenty of seating options. I think the waiter forgot to put in our order because those three items took a very long time to get to our table. I would definitely return.
This is the place to go!! We made a reservation for our anniversary. We are so glad.
Clean! Peaceful! The menu was not overbearing. The food was fabulous! The staff- so professional. The price was reasonable. When our friends come in from out of town, we're bringing them.
We were there for our 4 year wedding anniversary and I was very excited due to hearing that Ouisie’s was a Houston staple. The ambiance was nice with live piano playing. However, our waiter came to check on us around 3 times the whole 2.5 hours we were there, our food took 1.5 hours to come out (it was busy but bigger parties than ours came in after us and got their food before us), and my husbands food was cold upon arrival. Was quite disappointed. The wine that we had was delicious though. For two entrees, an app, and a medium range bottle of wine it was around $150 without tip.
Great food. Noisy on the porch when full. Piano music a nice touch.
Great! I will be returning to eat soon. All the menu item were perfectly priced. My snapper was superb.
Such a lovely, happening place, but things have gone down, way down. The food was less than mediocre. The chicken on my Kit Chicken salad on greens was too dry to eat and there was little to no dressing on the greens. Total fail. That’s just one example. All four diners at our table only ate their order because we were starving and had to get to a function shortly... The ladies’ bathroom hasn’t been properly cleaned in months. There is massive accumulation of dirt, even a paper clip, behind the stall door that you only see when you go in and close the door. I remember Ouisie’s excellence back in the day, so am very sad to permanently cross this one off the list...
Came here with 10 people and we were easily accommodated (with a reservation of course). The food was DELICIOUS!!!! Everything about this night went so well and this being the first time here we were overwhelming happy with it! Will definitely be returning (maybe bring a jacket too, it gets cold inside).
My wife, a friend, and I went to Ouisies Table to celebrate. They both ordered fish and I ordered a half chicken. The fish I understand was great. The chicken dinner had the surprise of potatoes with pepper flakes (hot) and over-cooked chicken (dry). They ate theirs and I ate part of mine. It was not tender at all. Chewy and dry. Not likely to make this a regular - but who knows - I don't choose the restaurants in this family, generally.
It was a birthday. I stated that on the reservation snd I told the waiter. Do you not do anything for birthdays?
Absolutely 5 star! Every visit is beyond exceptional. The waiters and all staff are super kind and attentive. The food is incredible and always hot and perfectly plated. Always a good idea to go to Ousie's! And they have a mocktail list which made my night!
The restaurant is very nice and it has a wonderful ambiance. The food was very good and the wine list was really good.
Enjoyed the oysters, trout, and my Birthday Tres Leches cake- all good! Waitstaff are courteous and professional
Could not have been better! Can’t wait to go again.
Ouisie's is always a place to count infer good well-prepared food.
But it isn't necessarily always great. Last night I had the lamb chops, and they
came with too much black pepper. Lamb chops don't need black pepper.
Also, too much brussels sprouts. The potatoes were good but not great.
The shrimp & grits was good.
Upon arriving at the restaurant we were not greeted by the hostess. This was possibly because two friends were already there waiting but no one else in the party of six was greeted.
During our walk to our table we were harassed by other customers who were visibly drunk, several members of that party made crude facial expressions at us.
Food was sub par. This was the most disappointing part of the evening. We ordered fried oysters, the beef tenderloin accompanied by lobster mash and asparagus with cherry tomatoes. The veggies were over cooked and extremely salty to the point where you could not eat them. The dish lacked a texture component and did not feel cohesive.
Everyone in our party came to the consensus that we would not be returning.
Dinner at Ouisie's is so nice and relaxing- it's nothing like the hustle and bustle of the brunch crowd. Aldo was a very attentive waiter and the food was amazing as always. We'll definitely be back for dinner!
Celebrated our birthdays at Ouisie's and had a great time with family. The Short Rib Bruschetta, Lamb & Potato Plate and Pecan Pie, were all excellent. Family raved about the Oyster Rockefeller, Spinach Artichoke Dip, Lemon Icebox Pie and the Whiskey Sour. Bartender is a real mixologist.
We arrived early, as soon as they opened. The waitress was attentive and offered suggestions. The food was pretty good as well.
We had a wonderful dining experience last night. It could not have been better. Service was superb as was the food. Looking forward to many more visits.
I was so excited about going out for a nice dinner with my mom for Mother’s Day but was super surprised when I showed up that it was the same menu for brunch was for dinner. As well as same cocktail menu which had almost all champagne drinks listed. I would never go back on Mother’s Day. The food was all mediocre at best. It was like a Vday menu all set and limited. Lesson learned. I called and did tell a manager about my experience but they clearly did fine and only care about money not the experience of their guest.
Mother’s Day. Ask for Aldo. He was so gracious and honest about the menu.
On average the food is good, some items are very good (like the lamb chops). I like my salmon on the v rare side and had to send it back because it was overcooked for me 1.e. Well done. Once remade it was very good. Recommend reservations for sure and if you prefer a quieter setting- ask for table at the outskirts of the main dining room or the smaller dining room or outdoor seating. Service is generally good, Teresa was great on Sunday although It does seem like she’s stretched across the dining room. Wine by the glass options are very limited. Overall nice dining experience.
The atmosphere and ambiance was perfect for Mother’s Day .. family enjoy every plate served.. def will return on a regular
They took foreverrrr to even greet us at the table or take drink orders. They didn’t give us silver ware we had to ask a few times. They were out of many items on the menu and the waiters were frazzled and could not properly take care of the guests. Overall bad experience
They were severely understaffed and did not have supplies to support the customers orders. It took us two hours to get our food even after we were cajoled to orders apps, salads and mains all at once. The noise was deafening too almost painful. Unfortunately it was not the same as what I was used to. I will not go there for a long time again.
Food was good, but the restaurant was way under staffed.
We had a nice time. The live music was a nice touch. We came on a cool night so the patio doors were open which created an elegant atmosphere. The food was good, I got the baked chicken which was a little too salty for my taste but still well prepared. The bread selection before the meal was a unique and fun touch to our experience.
I hope to be back one day!
