What an amazing evening. This has become one of our favorite local destinations.
The food is amazing and the service surpasses that. Unfortunate for these employees that one week they are open, the next closed. The fact that they come back should be applauded. What a frustrating and very uncertain time to be in hospitality.
Most beautiful hotel I been to in a long time and the service was so exceptional. I will be a regular here. I’m glad I found it close by and a hidden gem.
The patio seating area is beautiful. Our waiter, Jeremiah, was excellent! The cocktails were great albeit expensive for the mixology ones. Probably the most expensive that I have ordered in our country. The appetizers were very good and the cheese plate was 10/10. Unfortunately the lunch menu is quite limited . Many in our party did not care for the choices. Thus we split and went to another restaurant for the main meal. I also do not understand the sharing dinner menu in the age of Covid-19. No doubt this place will be successful once they work out the kinks.
Pacific Point is the newly renovated bar area, formerly called The Lobby Bar, in the stunningly remodeled Park Hyatt. No bar stools allowed around the beautiful new bar due to Covid, and tables are spaced for social distancing, but the ambiance is friendly and elegant, and the service was spot on. The menu has a bit of an Asian fusion edge to it, although you can still get a great burger and fries. The Hamachi was the best I have ever had. Fresh, with perfect accompaniments, nearly making me moan with every bite! Can't wait to go back.
Not impressed...not the same as when it was Four Seasons. Poor selection of food, no potatoes whatsoever, soggy Eggs Benedict and the bacon tasted like chlorine. Service was not great either. Won't be back
We were there for Christmas Day brunch. It was beautiful, calm and super healthy and farm to table fresh. Lots of gluten free desserts too which I very much appreciated. Lovely servers and support staff. Great experience and our new tradition.
Annual family Christmas brunch
Service was extremely slow with very few diners there
Went for a thanksgiving buffet. The food was excellent for adults but very limited for kids and quite expensive. Was surprised by the lack of choice for them including some staples such as pancakes or waffles?
Went for Mother's Day brunch and it was a pretty spectacular spread. Seafood, sushi, prime rib, lamb, pork belly, along with the usual pancakes, french toast, omletes, bacon and sausage. Whole room of tiny amazing desserts. By far the nicest brunch - also the most expensive. Worth it for a special treat!
We ate at the Easter Brunch and the food was amazing! The chefs prepared a vast array of food and desserts, each of which was carefully prepared and artfully displayed. Among our table of 8, we must have sampled everything offered and without exception each dish was delicious. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. The vegetarian options were creative and out of the ordinary. Grilled meats, salumi, and sausages were also available. Finally, the desserts were worthy of a whole separate meal. Fanciful creations like filled churros and mini cheesecakes with delicate hand-painted fondant eggs were amazing.
BUT - the host and management were incredibly rude. Even though we had made our reservation a month in advance, the host tried to seat us at literally the worst possible table. When we asked to be re-seated, the host first told us every other table was already reserved and he could not accommodate us even though the room was less than half-occupied (and remained so). Then they caused a scene wringing their hands over what to do in an uncomfortable standoff while we stood first in the dining room and then in the entryway for 10-15 minutes. A kind waited finally broke the tension with a “of course we can seat you somewhere else” and off we went. No apology or explanation from the host or the rude female “manager.” We were there for almost an hour and a half but the room was never more than half-full. What became clear to us is that for Easter Brunch (or possibly this is their standard practice), management holds the best tables - i.e., view-tables by the windows - for Four Seasons time-share owners but otherwise stick locals/visitors with crummy tables alongside the buffet. We watched this play out twice again during our visit. That said, the chefs and waitstaff were outstanding.
In sum, food was excellent but management soured our experience from the start and made no effort to rectify their missteps. We will think twice about going back again.
This is specifically for their Easter brunch. There was hardly any breakfast items except for an omelette station with only two burners, eggs Benedict (with meat so if you don’t eat that you couldn’t) and horchata French toast which is not exactly kid friendly. We had to have the lovely lady at the omelette station make some plain eggs for her. The rest was very appropriate fare for lunch but not at 930am. We also got a call the day before that our table was outside. I asked if she knew which exact table and she said yes. Turns out we were in the corner, it was freezing and the inside had plenty of tables. In addition we had to ask for toast from our server who would bring one slice at a time. Maybe a few more items like breakfast potatoes, quiche, oatmeal like other competitor hotels were offering would have been better. I only looked this up after the fact.
Great venue and good food with excellent service. Always enjoy going here. Brunch is an experience.
Celebrating
The staff was busy with change over. We had really poor service and the staff were noisily filling the silver ware and moving pitchers that were rude and very loud. This was not a cheap meal and even though the food was good I’ll never go back. When we spoke to the concierge about our experience it was evident that this is an ongoing issue. Too bad.
The room was pleasant and not very crowded. The service was good. The food was fair. Lunch for two totaled $80. for one sandwich and one salad and two ice teas and two desserts.
no buffet after 10:30 am, open table or the restaurant did mot disclose this fact: we stated that we were looking for Sunday brunch buffet when we called the restaurant. why? we have had good experiences with open table in the past. omelet was OK, cooked well, potatoes seemed like they prepared the day before, dry and tasteless. dish did not come with toast, paid extra, or you have toast and pay for potatoes. for a $34.00 breakfast, seems like it should come with both. i don't mind paying for expensive meal but it should be exceptional.
Very pleasant & cozy with superb customer service!
Our Friend Kat adores Park Aviara Hyatt. She can rarely attend due to wheelchair issues. This was her birthday celebration and she thoroughly enjoyed it - as we all did. Excellent service.
Really fabulous and creative Thanksgiving buffet. Wonderful eclectic mix of seasonal favorites and surprising combinations. Dessert is to die for. We had two adults and a fussy teenage and everyone left (more than) satisfied!
When we come to SoCal each year to get away from the AZ heat, we make it a point to have Sunday Champagne Brunch at the California Bistro. This was our third time this year.
It is in a beautiful setting with marvelous, friendly and professional service. Christina was right there bringing replacement utensils, filling our glasses and inquiring if we needed anything.
The selection of food ran from king crab legs to prime rib to fruits, huge peeled shrimp, cerviche, salads, lox, pastries, cheeses, omelettes, desserts - everything you could want.
The patio for al fresco dining is our favorite. Gorgeous.
Can't wait until next summer to return to the California Bistro!
My high expectations were unmet. The experience was unique in its lack of civility. The wait staff was poorly trained and unfamiliar with the menu and wine list.
Jeremiah, our waiter, ended the meal with a lecture. The gist was that we had chosen the wrong place to lunch. We had come to relax and dine. A fast food meal wasn't our goal. We were told that we didn't belong ,and Jeremiah suggested that we take our business elsewhere in the future.
Despite the critical attitude, we tipped generously. It's not in my nature not to treat people poorly.
We are locals who could have become regulars.
This was unique in my years of travel and meals at the finest hotels worldwide.
I suggest management address this embarrassment and introduce immediate remedial action.
We had a great Father's Day brunch.
Always a good experience, and the food was excellent, and the staff was wonderful this past Sunday.
I dined their in order to take my friends out after they had me over so many times to their place. I can't imagine why anyone would pay so much for a meal, but I think my friends liked it. And it was nice to at least have tried it. The staff were very nice, but I think they were a little overworked. There was no one at the egg station or the carving board most of the time. The diners had to ask for help, or even cut their own prime rib. But, all and all, it was a nice dining experience.
Attended for Easter brunch. It was amazing. Oh my god, best dessert table ever and best breakfast food ever. Fresh seafood and eggs made to order. Simply amazing
The brunch food was excellent both wide variety and quality. Service attentive.
However, expect to pay $100 per head.
New Year's eve buffet was superb. Just enough food variety to satisfy all tastes without it being overwhelming or over-indulgent. Everything tasted excellent. The service was great. Was worth it.
The selection of food did not equal the cost. Way over priced for the limited selection of food. Disappointed is the best choice of words I can give.
To be honest I thought the chairs were to low budget looking, it needs a little music,
To quiet and can hear the kitchen, I didn't like the chard salad, lettuce was to tough they left the ends on so it took me 10 minutes to cut the thing just give me a good salad please that's already cut nothing I have to work too hard at.
Everything was wonderful EXCEPT the time limits. The brunch didn't start until noon and the food was put away at 2. When we go to brunch we like to enjoy the company we are with. We don't immediately jump up and eat. We savor the first (and sometimes second) glass of champagne while catching up on life.
The place is beautiful; the food was delicious; and the value wasn't too bad. The only thing that was a bummer was that the service was really slow. It took almost 40 minutes for them to finally take our order. Good place if you are not tight on time.
Amazing place for a special meal. Brunch starts at noon.
Great food, great location, but a bit overpriced (paying for location). Good food selection but very poor selection of salads
Very disappointed . For the price, there was a poor selection, most of the hot food was cold. One of the cakes was frozen in the middle. Couldn't find anyone to make the omelette or carve the prime rib. Mimosas were good but they must have been understaffed because it took forever to get a refill. What food there was was good, not excellent . Guess you are paying for the hotel ambience which was beautiful , but the Bistro restaurant was not exceptionsl
It looked like a converted conference room with Denny's style tables. The waiter was great. I think he was embarrassed at the room.
At $80-90 a head for a very minimum Buffett. We had an 8:30 reservation and by 9:15 they were tearing down the Buffett.
We will never go back. Who would have thought there was a Denny's at Aviara!!
I was looking forward to our brunch here since it seemed to have good reviews. The resort seems pretty posh as you're coming down the drive. Parking is valet ONLY (bring cash!). There are no signs whatsoever in the resort lobby to direct you to the restaurant, and it is not easy to find on your own - down a long hallway, take a right, then take a left. Once we arrived (at 10:45am) for our 11am reservation, we were told by the hostess that they were tearing down the breakfast buffet and would be setting up the lunch buffet 11:30. So we could order ala carte or eat quickly from the breakfast buffet or wait 45 minutes for the lunch buffet. We decided that the 3 of us would do the breakfast buffet. However, when our waitress arrived, we didn't have a chance to tell her - she asked if we wanted coffee and when we replied yes, she sped off without waiting for our questions about the buffet. So we waited for her to return with the coffee. And we waited. And waited. Meanwhile saw several other staff members walking around, none of them helping customers. Our poor waitress was the ONLY one of several who was helping customers! When she finally returned with the coffee, it was 10:55. We asked if we could do the buffet and she hesitated, told us they were tearing it down, but said if that was ok with us it was ok with her. Predictably, the food was cold and picked over and pretty mediocre. The quiche was good but cold. Also were bagels, bread, jam, pancakes, bacon, and sausage. Hardly worth the $30 per person! I realize they have no control over this, but there was a screaming toddler at the next table. I wouldn't go back. Nor recommend.
Great food with fresh ingredients
Service was lackluster caring
food was delicious. The view is lovely. It was pleasant to talk to my friend. They do try to cater to special food sensitivities.
Had a very nice buffet breakfast outside on the patio. Good service and selection of food.
