It was our first time heading into the city for dinner since the pandemic started. We were not sure what to expect, and we’re completely taken by the food, the service, and the overall experience. Everything was fantastic! We even snagged a parking spot close to the entry which of course is always a bonus. We certainly will be back!

The menu, when viewed on open table, showed an impressive wine list and advertised a happy hour. However, upon arrival, we were told that the happy hour no longer exists. Also the wine list was quite small, consisting of only very expensive bottles. This restaurant I am assuming has been closed for quite some time. During this free time, why have they not updated the website/OpenTable listing to reflect the current menu? What a bait and switch! Food was mediocre. Service was okay.

This is the best restaurant in FiDi. Great Italian food + the owner Martino is jovial; a great experience.

Excellent Italian restaurant in downtown San Francisco. Pizza is very authentic and thin crust. They have a wood oven that makes for a great pizza. Tiramisu is amazing!

It was very elegant . I wasn’t dressed up and no judgement while ordering . Just overall it was a great experience.

We went here on a whim to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The staff was great! The food was amazing and the bill was way lower than we expected for the amount and quality of the delicious food and drinks that we enjoyed! We will definitely be back!!

Food was delicious and service was amazing! Main course excellent and dessert and espresso ended the meal perfect. Restaurant is tucked in a strip setting. Take the time to find it because it’s totally with it.

Everything about my experience at Palio was perfect, as it ALWAYS is--global pandemic or not. Every aspect of my experience was consistent to the perfect experiences my husband and I have had at Palio for now multiple years. The food was delicious! I salivate even thinking about my meal! Martino always makes us feel like we are members of the family when he greets us and always provides impeccable service. If we lived closer to San Francisco, we would 100% eat at Palio every week!

Service was pretty nice, but we ordered ravioli and pizza, both were not good.

The food and service were generally very good. The black truffle butter for the bread was quite good, as was the Bronzino and the pizza. Solid food, a little pricey for what one gets but still worth it.

Always a great location for lunch. The food is good and consistent in it preparation and delivery. Great Italian wine list and friendly service. When business clients are in from out of town this is a "go to" location.

My pasta with crab had little crab, didn’t see or taste green peppers nor breadcrumbs so less than expected. My friends salmon salad looked great. Waiter was nice but didn’t check in. Had to ask for bread.

Food was superb. Ambiance was terrific. Soups and pastas were especially good.
Service was a little on that slow side but not bad. Absolutely no rush through dinner.

Valentine’s Dsy

Went here for Valentines Day. Felt it was quite overpriced for the quality of the pizza and pasta. Ordered the crab pasta and it was really crunchy with what tasted like crab shells in it.
Ordered the burrata as an app, it was delicious but asked for a side of bread which was ~$15! Kind of crazy for bread. Guess we were supposed to eat the burrata alone.
It wasn’t very crowded and the service was slow for drinks, then charged for an extra drink. Sadly would not go back.

We went to Palio for Valentine’s Day. We were seated in the back room. Not as nice as the main room. We had a shared risotto with mushrooms which was great. Our entree was Branzino and Scallops. Also very good. Then our waiter disappeared for 20 minutes. We never got a dessert menu. I had to stand up and waive both of my arms at our waiter. He said i will be right with you...i said no. Here is my credit card. I want to leave. This really ruined our experience at Palio. I will not go again.

We arrived at Palio to be told that their pasta machine was broken so there would be no pasta served and also there was no Risotto. Not sure what a broken pasta machine has to do with Risotto but that is what was said. We live in Hawaii and had actually made a special trip to San Francisco for the weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Since she loves Italian food and we had been to Palio in the past, that is where she selected. Needless to say she was very disappointed and it put a real bummer on her evening. We chose not to stay and went elsewhere for dinner.

Arturro was fantastic and really made the occasion special.

Excellent food, the di mare salad is a winner. Lovely atmosphere. The perfect place for a business lunch and even though the restaurant was completely full, conversation was possible. Palio is now on my top 3 list for financial district lunches.

I haven't been to Palio in several years since they did the renovation. It was nice to see that they still had the same excellent high standards in their food and service.

Palio consistently provides excellent food, seasonal choices, and an outstanding staff. It continues to be my go to place for business lunches in the Financial District and the renovation is just plain classy!

Palio is an excellent restaurant that has great ambience and excellent food. We were there to celebrate our New Year’s Eve and has the fixed menu which was both generous and tasty. The service was outstanding and the staff incredibly friendly and we’ll definitely go back again!
