Palm Court at Kimpton Fitzroy London

Service was terrible - we waited nearly 2 hours for food, with our server repeatedly saying it would “only be a couple more minutes” for our order to arrive (our reservation was at 8:30pm, we finally ate around 10:30pm). Ambience is quite nice but definitely did not make up for the lateness of the food and poor service... Even after all of that, what we ordered was just mediocre, nothing special. It would’ve been nice to be kept in the loop so we could’ve gone elsewhere. Definitely will not be returning.

Palm Court is in the heart of Kimpton Fitzroy and offers an exquisite ambiance and reasonably-priced food. We visited the day before national lockdown which restricted our food choices as the Palm Court understandably couldn't stock up on produce. The food we did order, though, was tasty and a good price. The best feature of the restaurant is its interior design - perfect for a romantic outing.

Wonderful staff, very welcoming and professional. Nice ambience. Luxurious and relaxed setting. Fully recommend for special occasion.

We loved dining at the Palm Court. The service was excellent and the interior of the restaurant is really pretty. The food was very good as well. I would highly recommend dining here to anyone.

Good COVID compliance. Food poor. Had the channa masala - very poor quality dish and popadom was greasy and undercooked. Very basic dish for the price.

It was very very quiet and sadly killed the atmosphere in this beautiful room. At first it took a bit to find someone to say ‘I’m here’ but quickly after I found someone and sat. The service was very attentive and efficient. Nothing was delayed or of bad quality. Apart from the atmosphere it was great. Will come again with friends for other occasions.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH OPEN TABLE. Kimpton Fitzroy has no record of my booking, I booked a month ahead and Opentable even asked me to reconfirm my booking on email in the days ahead. The hotel were very busy but managed to accommodate us on the day thanks fully.

AFTERNOON TEA IS NOT SERVED IN PALM CPURT AS ADVERTISED BY OPEN TABLE. The restaurant manager tells me that this changed months ago and is now served in a much smaller and darker bar / restaurant.

The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the hotel is spectacular - but I suggest that you contact the hotel directly to make your booking.

We were there to celebrate our friends engagement and the ambience was amazing. Really lovely wines and nibbles.

We came here for an afternoon tea. Great ambiance and very relaxed atmosphere. Great food for the value of money. The service was faultless. We would highly recommend this place for an afternoon tea.

I had afternoon tea at the palm court before it becomes Kimpton and the service was amazing...for some how I found the service today not so professional.
Great pastry and scones...sandwiches could be a bit better.

Lovely hotel & delicious afternoon tea which was not too filling. The service was excellent and my husband, daughter and I were well looked after. Would definitely recommend :)

While in London, I entertained several friends - a former ambassador, a member of the House of Lords and others affiliated with the British media. The service provided by our waiter, Sasha, was top drawer! He managed to keep everyone of my guests happy with prompt service. A classic and sophisticated place to entertain friends - I'll gladly repeat the experience again and will request that Saha take care of my guests!

I had a amazing birthday experience there. However I did not get the seats I wanted.

The Palm Court is a perfect hidden gem in the middle of Bloomsbury! We sat in the atrium, which we had to ourselves, and it was so beautiful. Our waiter was very friendly as well as very knowledgeable. He ensured to make our afternoon a special one. I would highly recommend The Palm Court! Lovely food, beautiful pastries, and wonderful service!

Overpriced afternoon tea and very poor service. The restaurant was full of larger parties and as we were only a party of two (and not dressed for a wedding) we were seated in a dark corner and forgotten about. Service was slow and rude and food was overrated for the price. We asked for more tea and (after a 15 minute wait) we’re finally given a pot of hot water to water down our original pot! Not the service expected from a 5star hotel. Sandwiches were served on a plate and we were told to use the same plate for the cakes and scones. Not ideal when you don’t eat smoked salmon and your cakes smell of it! I do not recommend.

Our Afternoon Tea started with bubbly then we were served with sandwiches which were very tasty and more arrived, then scones and delicate cakes and endless tea.
Lovely surroundings, attentive staff, soft music in the background. Was a lovely relaxing time and we will ge back again. Highly recommended.

An excellent venue for Afternoon Tea with one of the best price point to quality, location and service ratios across London. Teas are sourced from The Rare Tea Company and while the scones and pastries aren’t the best (for those try the Mandarin Oriental or The Rosewood / Claridges), the sandwiches were excellent. One to repeat as long as you set your expectations accordingly given the price point.

The service was really really good.tje food was good too but the place was extra special because of the decoration and beauty of it.

Went with my baby and they were really lovely. I would t take a toddler but perfectly fine with babies or well behaved children

First of all I’d like to say that the interior and the food is superb. Nevertheless we were not greeted upon arrival, all though we tried to make eyecontact with the staff. Naturally we proceded to sit down and assumed a waitor would come to take our order. «Do you have a reservation» was the first question, and we did. «You have to sit here» moves us 1m to another table, in a empty restaurant, for no other reason I assume than to demonstrate power. How old are you was the next question, I’m in my twenties but I’ve never been asked that at any restaurant in my life, and I’ve been fortunate enough to dine at some of the worlds finest. So no, I will not recommend nor will I ever return to Palm Court.

Afternoon tea was absolutely lovely. The dining area was beautifully decorated, the food was delicious, and everyone was friendly. I would recommend for a great afternoon tea experience.

Overall a nice experience sandwiches a little disappointing but would recommend just for the experience.

Afternoon Tea was delicious, the effort going into the cakes was clear to see! Service was very good, didn't feel rushed at all. We did have to wait a while for the food to arrive, but it was worth it. The restaurant and the hotel building is beautiful. Would go again for sure! Great value for money

The place was almost empty and yet it was very difficult to book or modify our booking! Service was very bad, tea arrived cold, the server forget to bring the sugar, sandwiches were served on plates (very strange way of service for afternoon tea) and the food was below our expectations. Overall, very disappointing experience. Real shame for such a beautiful place!

Had never heard of this particular establishment but saw Thibault and Erica on GBBO The Professionals so thought we should give it a try. We went for afternoon tea in the Palm Court and it was lovely. The service was good and the food was absolutely delicious, just the right amount of sandwiches and a delightful selection of cakes and scones. The only slight quibble was the water used to top up the teapots wasn't hot enough, but apart from that no complaints at all. A lovely afternoon altogether and finished off nicely by a complimentary illustration done by a roving artist which I thought was a lovely touch and made a great memento of the occasion. I would definitely recommend a visit and would happily go again.

A little overrated. No replenishment of sandwiches or pastries, because they had run out despite having booked so they new we were coming. Rose scones were very nice. Ambiance was nice.

Went with friend for a lunch.. the ambiance and service was amazing.. they even accommodate us to gave the table that we liked even it was already reserved. The only downside is not much choices in the menu, but overall experience was fantastic. Definitely will be back!
