Palmwoods Hotel

Everything was excellent. Great food at an affordable price and a menu that offered choice. Service was very good. I love that we have a place to go locally with such a good standard. Covid requirements were met. It was also a nice ambience in the room. Not overwhelmingly noisy. You could actually have a decent conversation.

The girls that served our tables were excellent. They were extremely friendly and efficient.

I particularly like the idea of the COVID table service as we didn't have to keep getting up to go to the bar.

PROS
The bistro atmosphere was excellent. Our server was friendly and efficient.
The bistro was very strict about COVID social tracing and staff wire masks - very reassuring.

CONS
My partner and I both ordered steak sandwiches on the recommendation of the server after we sought advice.
We firmly insisted NO beetroot and NO BBQ sauce.
Both steak sandwiches contained beetroot.
We also found the steak contents tough and the price high. A steak sandwich with carmelised onions at the Alex Surf Club beachside bistro is $13 and is much better value and tastier in my opinion.,

The setting was fine, typical outdoor pub area, but pleasant. Service was efficient and friendly. The meal was not so great. The crumbed fish that I had was more crumb than fish. The fish flesh was very dry, thin and it was more like eating a piece of fish flavoured toast really. My wife had sweet potato and quinoa fritters that looked good, but were pretty tasteless as well. Disappointing as we have eaten her before and the food was OK. Not the case this time though. Should probably have just had the pizza ... they looked quite nice.

Great food & very flexible service - one of our party couldn’t make it at the last minute - we arranged to take their meal with us - no takeaway service but very obliging.

All good but seafood platter the scallops and prawns in the breadcrumbs were way over cooked!!

Appeared recently renovated. Good food service provided by wait staff.

We had a lovely meal, good service and the kids enjoyed the playroom.
It was noisy but we chose to be near the playroom. Very good covid rules in place.

Hi the service was slow not the usual awesome service

Table service at sports bar was poor considering we were the last table left waited over 20 mins for kids icecream which we had tonleave table and find to get it delivered to our table.

Great food and a great location. The place was very busy, but we still didn't have to wait too long for the food. We'll be back!

Great steak, lovely seafood - took a little longer than usual

We decided to go to the Palmy at the last minute and we’re well rewarded.
We ordered the seafood platter and the calamari meal which we shared. They were both wonderful and we will be back to have the same again!

We really enjoy eating inside in the air conditioned restaurant area of Palmwoods Hotel. The food is always excellent, without fail, and the service is really good. It's very handy for us as we are only walking distance away.

All 10 of us really enjoyed our meal. Waitress was great. Excellent quality food and desserts and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend

The Palmwoods Hotel remains one of the best value for money dining options in the Hinterland. The choice is extensive, the wait time is usually short, the meals are reliably good and the prices are reasonable. Add to that a selection of dining settings, and there is something for everyone - we chose the table service restaurant and Palmwoods Hotel lived up to its high standards!
