We love the lively atmosphere and dependably good food. Fun for a couple or a group - a French bistro experience in northern VA.
In beginning waiter was distracted and service was not good. He got better as the evening went along.
I want to know why my reservation did not earn points. The maitre’de was very surprised at that!!
I took my friend here for her birthday last night and had a FABULOUS time! The food, wine, and ambience was perfect! The service was superb too! I highly recommend and I will be back!
Have been here a couple times and both times the food was pretty good but service could improve. The service is lacking and not what you would expect at a French restaurant
The service here is so good/ we were welcomed at the door by a gentleman and escorted to our table. They provided a high chair for the toddler at out table which they cleaned before us.
I think Bibb/Boston salad was dressed too soon, with more tarragon this time than last-It arrived limp. Otherwise, salmon was delicious, as were the steak and hamburger.
Our waitress was lovely, and accommodating with a sense of humor. She treated the toddler at our table very nicely!

The food, wine, and service were all excellent. Parking is convenient, with a free parking garage just across the alley. As the name suggests, the menu is French-leaning, and has just the right amount of choices, and variety, in my opinion. There are daily specials (one of which I had, the "jambone," ham roasted on the bone, very tender and delicious). The restaurant's decor is lovely, and the dining room is spacious.
The food was good. We ordered the house salad and escargot as appetizers. The salad was large. Alot of lettuce on the plate but the herbs made it pop. It got more interesting with every bite. Entrees included steak-frites, Trout grenobloise and the omelet. The strip steak portion was quite generous. We were able to box up half of it. The fingerling potatoes and carrots with the trout were quite tasty. Nice size serving of tender trout. I would order again. Classic french bistro menu and atmosphere. The first serving of still water was quite warm. We had to ask for ice twice before it got to the table. Service was a little slow. Not sure if that was due to the holiday or covid labor shortages. There was no bread for the table which seemed like a miss. I would return.
Great food, glad to see that beautiful restaurant up and running again in the lovely Mosaic.
Bartenders, wait staff all so attentive, witty, and pleasant. Sister was visiting from out of town and they made her dining experience special.

Great Cocktails and dinner
Even though we had a reservation and the place was virtually empty (4:45pm), the maitre d insisted on sitting us at a horrible table. Tip: Don’t bother arguing with her since she’s incompetent and has bitter attitude. Just talk to the manager.
Lovely girlfriend lunch date on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Several small plates to choose from and excellent French onion soup so filling that we did not have room for the 2 appetizers also ordered. Delicious looking plates passed by going to other diners and we vowed repeatedly to return with a larger party to enjoy apps and drinks one day (when Covid 19 calms itself down)! We will return!
The entire experience was fabulous. Shared the paté to start and then had the braised short ribs and that dish was to die for. Didn’t leave a speck on the plate. Will 100% be back and can’t wait to try more of the menu.

Waiter was very attentive and described the food and drinks. Ambiance was great - very open and French. My salmon was amazing - crunchy on top with earthy mushrooms and spinach. I had the squash soup as an appetizer and it head layers of flavors with apples, yogurt and pumpkin seeds. You must try it! My husband had the caesar salad and shortribs - he would get them again. The cocktails were clever and complex. Will be back again soon.
The omelette was PHENOMENAL! And I loved the vinaigrette used for the Salade Maison. Food was great, would definitely recommend.
Ambiance, service and food/wine list just wonderful all the way around. With a packed house, however, noise level a bit challenging and that could be helped with some well-placed carpet runners. The wood floors are great, but with a high ceiling, the decibel level can be difficult. Carpet always helps.

Impeccable! The food was incredible both in variety and taste- we had escargot, salmon as appetizers snd sea bass and sirloin as our main dishes.
This is truly a hidden gem at Mosaic. The rooftop bar area is cozy was cozy and quiet.
Service was excellent- we had to switch tables because our friend joined us unexpectedly and our new server Michael took wonderful care of us.

Just the loveliest time in a perfectly authentic, warm welcoming environment. Great host (her second day!) and server (Michael I believe). Proactively handled serious food allergies with effortless hospitality. Will definitely return soon and become a regular!
BEST cod dish that I've EVER had and probably top 3 seafood dishes that I've ever had! Very *uniquely creative* entree, but appetizers and deserts were also GREAT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
It's a shame to see this once-promising place slide this far downhill. I was surprised it was empty when I arrive at peak lunch rush on a Saturday, but I wasn't surprised by the time we left. In the entire place, one other couple had just arrived. We were greeted by the host in jeans and a dirty t-shirt. A server was wearing a black top and shorts that were filthy and sloppy. Once we were seated, along the long wall in the upper, window level at the second to last table, the smaller curved booth, we waited a long time for our order to be taken. While we waited, a party of 8 started to come in. The host walked them down the length of the room and sat them right next to us in a restaurant that was completely empty. The group asked if they couldn't sit at the wall around the corner of the L but the host told them no; he had other parties coming. Once the group was seated, it was clear they were going to be loud, so, when he finally came to take our order, we asked quietly to be moved to the other wall, and we were also told he had other parties coming. We ended up having to sit at one of the small tables in the well by the bar in an empty restaurant. Well, he didn't have other people coming. No one else came in all the time we and the large party were there. Maybe he just didn't want to walk far? (He was also acting as a server.) Though the food was so-so, that wouldn't keep us away because it's pretty inside and we love Mosaic, but the horrible service will. So sorry to see this happen to a place we used to like. Oh, well. We came for the gnocchi and it's off the menu anyway.

I was very pleasantly impressed with the food and service at Parc de Ville. The menu has limited choices, but they were all well done; indeed, the food was more authentically French in quality and presentation than at some higher priced establishments that claim to serve "French cuisine." Every thing that we had was consistently very good and reminded us of similar dishes that we have enjoyed in France and Belgium. The open space was also appreciated, making "social distancing" possible.
The food is always amazing, it would be nice to have the full menu on the rooftop. The outside seating was nice but lacked a little bit of curb appeal and while you could look inside the ambiance is lost outside.
The food was amazing and the server was funny and very nice. Service was very slow at first but got better as the meal went on. Escargot was fabulous and my daughter couldn’t get enough! Steak frites to die for with a bernaise sauce that will knock your socks off and the duck was similarly outstanding.
Staff and manager need retraining.
Far away for a fine dinning experience. Drinks are too expensive, the food is good but nothing special.
The food was excellent. We ordered the escargot, sea bass, braised short rib, and chocolate tarte. Everything was so flavorful that we wanted to lick the plates clean but instead we asked for bread. The bread was yummy too. We will definitely go again to try more of the dishes. 😀
