Paul Martin's American Grill - Westlake Village
I believe this restaurant was having an off day on Monday, March 9, 2020. I met a friend for lunch and we both ordered salads with steak. The steak was so full of gristle neither of us could chew it. The steak had to be discarded onto the bread plate so we could finish the rest of our salads. A disappointing day at Paul Martin’s. Like I said, unusual. I will give it another try and if the same thing happens I will definitely be sending my meal back and getting something else.
A lovely evening but the prime rib and potatoes for our guest was not cooked or warm ... my guess is that the meal was under a heat lamp but was disappointing to our guests
My mushroom burger was excellent and the welcome banana cream pie very yum ...
But you cannot serve food cold that is meant to be warm
We were a party of 12, two items in the order were mixed up. Service was slow, order took long. Table was not cleared as people finished, food was not that good. Restaurant was only filled to half its capacity, to get this level of bad service. Very disappointed.
I don't remember our waitress' name, she was young with long dark hair and wore glasses, she was very sweet and attentive, great happy hour for a Birthday celebration.
Thank you very much for the kind words!
Great place for dinner! Our group enjoyed the charcuterie board, spinach & artichoke dip, fried chicken, and a wedge salad. We had our three-year-old in tow and she got the best “kid’s menu” Mac & cheese I’ve ever tried. Wish I could remember our server’s name because she was excellent.
Thank you for dining with us and sharing your experience.
Love Paul Martin's Thousand Oaks, beautiful location in country like setting seated in window booth with great service from Kelly it was sublime, food & atmosphere superb this location our "go to" when wanting to have a wonderful dining experience
A reliable restaurant for good food, service, and ambiance. I recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I had such a great experience the following weekend we came back and we weren't disappointed. We come from the San Fernando valley to eat here. Great service from Santiago twice! Charlie the manager came by to say hello to everyone. Great experience!
Waiter was great! Policy of holding half the tables in the restraunt empty supposedly for reservations is a bad one at best!
Great service , excellent food with a lovely ambience and quiet.
Food is very good. Service very good. Food Served hot. Appetizers took 20mins, food took 50 more minutes. Too much time in our opinion.
But, If ur not real hungry or not in a hurry to eat. Then no problem.
The service was very slow. We had a party of 8. 6 of us got our entries but we had to wait for over 20 minutes for the other 2 meals. We complained and the restaurant made it right by not only comping they 2 entries but also all our appetizers. Things happen and obviously something was wrong tonight but they made right by us.
We had reservations and were seated right away even though it was a busy evening. Our waiter was attentive, fun and helpful. He had a very large 70th birthday table to take care of but tended to the 5 of us as well.
Delicious meal and nice evening. We will return!
This was our first time having the Sunday night; “Prime Rib Special”. It was very flavorful & tender. The tossed green salad that came with it was a nice size portion & tasty too. The special also comes with ice cream & homemade shortbread cookies, a generous three scoops. Overall, we will be back again!
The wait was out of control and it was super noisy and definitely disjointed.
Was day after Valentines Day. Took 45 mins to get seated. Food was ok, not great. Campfire sunday for dessert was awful. They offer us a 10 off gift card, but wont be back anytime soon
Had a great time.
Are Valentine's Day experience at Paul Martin's lived up to our expectations. We had a great time with great service, great food, and a great ambiance. Most noteworthy was the exceptional and extraordinary service we had from Michael our waiter. We eat out a lot, and a classier restaurant like this would tend to have elite service, but Michael went above and beyond. Thank you for a great time.
It was wonderful and I loved our server
Paul Martin is a great spot. Been there quite a few times never disappointed, I’m ovo-vegetarian so I had the multi mushroom burger which was excellent.
Had the butter cake for desert simple amazing
Food was fantastic. Drinks were fantastic. The services was less than good. I’ve eaten here quite a few times and never had an issue. Maybe it was an off night. The food runner handed us our food and did not make an effort to put it on the table. It was so strange. The server was nice but felt awkward the entire night.
We will 100% come back ju
Excellent food and service! Consistently a crowd pleasing restaurant with the ability to make you want more even when you’re full.
Thank you for your kind words. Please visit us again soon. Management
Always a great time at Paul Martin’s ... good food, good service, comfortable. This was one of the rare times our server did not pour the wine...but otherwise another wonderful dining experience!
Paul Martin’s American Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is consistently good and they have an extensive wine list too. Just call us regulars!!
Very good meal and staff is excellent
My halibut dish was superb!!! Hubby’s chicken was overdone but it always is - restaurants just don’t “get” juicy chicken unfortunately!!! I wish he’d stop ordering it out 🙃.
We were disappointed in our waitress this visit but overall Paul Martin’s is one of our favorite spots!!!
Great menus items. Great wine list. Attentive service. Overall very nice dining experience.
Can’t do separate checks for 12 people, totally understand. They said they can do 3 checks, which was fine. But they end up making mistakes on the checks and they just shrugged their shoulder when we mentioned it. We spent more than half an hour just to figure out the maths on our own. This is not the first time this same issue happened. I brought 16 people here for Christmas dinner and checks were a giant disaster. Swear that I’m never bringing a big group back here again
Very nice as always.
We always enjoy dinners at Paul Martin. Food is always good and the sevice great
We came here for our anniversary and I must say we were very happy with every part of the restaurant. The service was awesome. Our waiter was super attentive and all of his suggestions were on point. Especially the butter cake for dessert. That “giant pancake” of buttery goodness my wife and I are still talking about it. Very nice touches to make our dinner feel special. So happy we found this place. We will be back for other special occasions or when we can ditch our kid with his grandparents. Lol.
Selected the 2020 DineLA Week menu and order the Clam Chowder, which was different and delicious. The salmon sandwich I ended up eating without all the bread. Salmon was too undercooked for my taste, but the Sweet Potato Fries were perfectly salty & crispy. We then ordered dessert off their regular menu as I can't resist a Butter Cake, however it was a little gooey in the middle, could of been cooked longer. Service was ok, not too attentive for a slow Monday lunch hour. Did notice that they charged us more on the desserts then what the menu had.
Since the food was so good I would recommend this restaurant but will tell others to be prepared to wait and wait and wait to order and wait and wait and wait again to get your beverage and food...
Fantastic food. Waitress was on point and prices reasonable.
Always a consistently nice place to have dinner or lunch. Our waitress was wonderful.
very good food and service was impeccable. a robust happy hour menu and very good cocktails
Always an excellent dinner. Food is hot and delicious. Great Happy Hour food as well.
The food was great and the service was even better.
