Beautifully fitted out restaurant at first glance with a promising impression; no expense spared from the decor to the glassware.
Wait staff appeared frantically busier than the room capacity, humorously I did end up with accidental splashes of olive oil in my old fashioned while being served breads to start which I was suggested was too old of a beverage for me. I didn’t have the heart to say anything, our server was already sweating through his shirt, frantic pace; also I wasn’t willing to wait a while again for my first drink again.
Rock oysters were lovely, lamb loin done well, however pappardelle lamb could have used 3-4 more minutes, al dente has a fine line. Biggest let down for me, the paella. Risotto isn’t paella unfortunately and I had to sneak on a salt sachet to continue, very wet and the seafood contents chewy, baby food texture. Roast potatoes were done well although wait staff did recommend shoestring truffle fries.
Looking around all the surrounding upper class effort I didn’t think such a suggestion had a place on their dinner menu. Amazing wine selection top to bottom although the wine arrived nearing the end of mains; for the size of their bar and spirits selection one would assume a more expansive cocktail selection also.
Dessert menu was uninspiring which by this stage I caught a glimpse of the neighboring table ordering the seafood for two platter, dodged a bullet for the price and size comparison. Opted for coffee to end the night. Left it on the table after a single sip.
Before settling the $300 bill for 3, I quickly ducked into the bathroom. Floor pebbles are starting to lift and come away; somewhat of an omen perhaps. Presenting as a upmarket haven to socialize with friends on a weekend without going into the CBD, the basics were missed at every turn. That’s all that’s needed to improve the experience. Cuisine basics which missed terribly for me.
Double charge on a bottle of 2018 Pieropan Soave wine. Please call me.
PECA exceeded my expectations.
Service and ambience was on point.
The food was exceptional and the wine paired perfectly. This restaurant is a rose amongst the thorns in Macarthur.
Great service and ambience, however, fresh produce is not so fresh and ruined the overall experience of the meal. We got the seafood platter for two, the oysters were warm and sour and the crab had no meat in it. By the time we got to the muscles they were cold, everything came out at once and was hard to eat it all in time to enjoy a warm meal. The strawberries in the dessert were also under ripen and had no taste, making our dessert underwhelming also. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, however the food quality ruined the experience especially after paying $400 for dinner!
Food was acceptable. However for the prices charged I would of expected a lot more
The food and service was exceptional.
All our meals were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.
My first impression was WOW
Seeing a great restaurant in this area and it definitely met all our expectations
The food was faultless and the service was outstanding
The ladies were very hospitable
I recommend this restaurant for all occasions
Great attentive service, food was very good and hot. Got to try some new wine. Will be going back. Only negative a little on the pricey side, but made up for by good old fashioned service.
Second visit here and as beautiful as the venue is the food is just on the same level. Starters were okay, the burrata and wagyu capaccio nothing memorable. We also ordered the WA lobster which was a small half shell lobster diced into tiny pieces and dressed with far too much dill, we weren't expecting anything much larger as it is only $32 but the execution was bland and unappealing. The "dry aged" steak came out overcooked, we sent it back and another arrived within minutes, to us it didn't have any rich beef flavour that you usually get with dry aged this again was not great, we didn't finish it. I personally wouldn't return again but hope they do improve the food as our area deserves to have better dining options.
Food was incredible, but service was disappointing for fine dining. Asked for sparkling water, instead received still tap water, charged at $9 per bottle x 2. If they left the bottle on our table so we could help ourselves, I would be happy, but they half filled our glasses and took the bottle away and were not attentive with refilling glasses, unless we asked. When I asked for more water they didn't let me know if we had finished our bottle, just added it to our bill. I was very suspicious if we had in fact finished our first bottle of water as they were 1L bottles and we only had 2 half glasses each. They keep all the open bottles of water along the edge of the bar - our waitress was a little ditzy, so it wouldn't surprise me if our bottle got mixed up with another table.
They only left a bottle of water on our table just as we finished dessert - too late for us to have with our meal, and it was at this point I took the opportunity to examine the bottle - very obvious they were not refrigerated, sealed bottles, as there were no remains of a seal around the neck, and no condensation. They keep the open bottles in a row along the bar - I would have felt better if they at least opened the bottle in front of me for hygiene reasons, especially during covid.
The waitress wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu, and was a little forgetful during our time there. Thank goodness the food and cocktails were amazing, but for fine dining and the price we paid (almost $370), I expected better service.
The atmosphere is really nice & architecturally interesting. Our waitress and other staff we encountered were nothing short of lovely. And of course, the food... the food was stunning. There wasn’t anything we ordered that we regretted or wouldn’t order again. Perfect special anniversary dinner, thank you!
Peca was a beautiful experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. My only criticism was the price. I thought it was overpriced. Unfortunately we would only go back again for a very special occasion instead of going there regularly as the price was too expensive.
Excellent food as always. Fine Dining at it's best.
Had a lovely birthday dinner. Service was great along with everthing we ordered especially the seafood platter which was amazing!
Went recently. First time dining there. Two of the mains unavailable as they’d had a function which is really not acceptable at a restaurant in this segment. So we ordered the seafood platter which at $180 for two people isn’t cheap. We asked the waitress what was on it which wasn’t what we received. The quality was average and the quantity wasn’t enough to fill two people. The sides were ordinary too. All in all very disappointing for a meal that expensive. We won’t be going back.
I was a little under whelmed by this fine dining experience.
Attended PECA for 5th Wedding Anniversary. Dinner and drink selection were great. Food and drinks were amazing. Ultimately fine dining. Ambience was awesome. Would definitely re-book.
What a pity was so looking forward to it.
The lamb loin was tuff and I left almost all of it and was never asked if there was anything wrong.
Scambi for entree was tiger prawns not Scampi!
Friend had seafood paella and it was more like a rice soup with no taste
Sorry guys but I was so hoping to come back again and again the seating's and everything was great but the food was tasteless.
Husband had Scallops (which he loves) he said they were ordinary
No sure if it was a bad night for them they were very busy but no excuse for food with no taste.
Great service and amazing food. Would most definitely recommend it.
Outstanding food and service. Best lamb I’ve ever had, all meals bursting with flavour! Quality does come at a price, but was well worth the price!
Our second visit to Peca, very enjoyable and we will look forward to another visit in the future.
This experience was horrible. From the moment we walked in the doors the ambience was off. We were Invited to take a seat in their bar area to enjoy a manager continually barking at the staff quite unprofessionally and loudly, and slamming phones angrily as we attempted to relax. He even proceeded to swear and yell at the chefs in front of us. Not a great way to start the evening. Then, during the meal we had to ask three times to chase up where our water was. When I asked the waitress for cutlery she brought me dirty cutlery, hesitated to put it down as she noticed it was dirty, yet still continued to put it down anyway. Upon checkout we were overcharged $18 on our entree. Horrible, horrible experience for such a beautiful looking venue.
Great nite overall being placed in the corner which isn’t a problem other than trying to get the attention of the waiters at times. But still a great feed the Tomahawk, squid, and zucchini flowers were delicious. Definitely go back again.
I really enjoyed my night at Peca it was my first time there I have been trying for quite sometime to get there.
It's the 2nd time we've lunched there and it won't be the last
Mains took too long, complimentary bread and olives that weren’t ordered where charged without advising of this $14 charge, and $9 for still water - but it’s from Italy so apparently that justifies it being the same price as the sparkling. Pasta wasn’t cooked through, steak was cooked to perfection but didn’t justify over an hour wait from when entrees we’re finished.
The last time we were here it was amazing
Good service and good food - nice for a special occasion
Visited for the first time, lunch on Friday For a special 40th birthday lunch ( only 3 of us)
Decided to go based on instagram posts
The food looked good in the pics
I ordered the mussels a clams and had to ask for a finger bowl Then another bowl for the shells, customers should not have to ask for this, my daughters scallops were overcooked my pasta was cold and undercooked, we decided to give dessert a miss and finish with a limoncello meringue cocktail, which in the pics show a beautiful cocktail with brûlée Italian meringue peaks, we were served an insipid looking lemon cocktail with crushed up dry meringue which was sprinkled on top
Waitresses were wearing Red & blue ink stained grubby linen aprons, the decor is great but lacks the finesse of a fine dining restaurant it’s trying to achieve. Very disappointing
Great dining space with superb decor. Servers could be more welcoming and have good knowledge of the menu.
Food needs to be refined as both times I’ve dined there, the food has not been good. If a restaurant expects diners to pay a premium, it should be reflected in the food with an experienced chef.
My partner and I were overall disappointed in this experience and won’t be going back...
Basically, our booking was for 8pm, we were seated at 8:15-8:20. Which I suppose would be okay if everything else ran smoothly.
We waited another 20 minutes to order drinks and I wish I was exaggerating. Every other table seated after us was served first and even got their drinks and food first. I believe the waitress had forgotten to put through the drinks, I assume this, because we got our drinks after our entrees came out and I had to flag down the waitress.
I guess the use of notepads aren’t really effective when multitasking and flicking through pages to put through orders as some are forgotten...
After we had ordered the drinks at 8:40, we waited an extra 10 minutes to order our food. At this stage we were the last table to order and missed out on a preferred dish due to high demand.
Food wasn’t worth the money, oysters with pear kruskovac wasn’t anything special, just like a slushy on an oyster, calamari was ok, the zucchini flowers were probably over fried and gave a strong oily taste that was left in your mouth which took away the taste of the dish. I felt the pasta I had was a bit more on the undercooked side rather than al dente and the plating of the pork dish looked unappetising.
The hour wait for an hour of unsatisfying meals... would not recommend to be honest.
The service was great, our meal tasted amazing and we didn't wait too long for each course. It's fine dining so it was a little pricey but I recommend trying it out.
It is over priced but has a lovely ambience - mgmt didn’t follow through on my request to sit away from the door and so we were freezing all throughout dinner
Very crowded for the rules regarding COVID....we had a table for 4 and we 2 people from other tables within 1m....? The food was ok...we won’t be rushing back
Food was delicious, staff were friendly & the venue was great!
A great dining experience, the staff and food was amazing .
We had a magnificent meal. Our waitress was very prompt and polite.
We will be back to this beautiful venue.
Food was ok. Not amazing
Awesome friendly staff. The freshness and quality of the food is first class.
The food was delicious and the ambience was nice. My only concern was that it was not very well "socially distanced". There were two events being held at the time and several large group bookings. It felt crammed- I would have expected them to be more responsible with their reservations.
The food here is outstanding, (kudos to the chef), The restaurant itself beautiful, first class, unfortunately, the table service from some of the younger staff was well below par for a fine dining experience, and requires training to match the quality of the restaurant. I see this problem in other reviews too. But the calamari, melt in the mouth, the lamb shoulder with mushroom risotto, was to die for. Overall, we had a lovely dining experience, although gets a little noisey due to acoustics of the room, on the pricier side but look forward to dining there again. Would definitely recommend.
