Penn Commons is a rough-hewn yet chic American tavern on 6th & H Streets in the perfect Penn Quarter location for locals, tourists and sports lovers! With 40 craft beers on tap, happy hour every night & 12 big screen TV's, it's the perfect stop for ;lunch, dinner or brunch! For reservations of six or more, please call the restaurant.

To craft its menu of food and drinks united by one common philosophy - American sensibility joined with American seasonality - Chef Jeff Tunks drew on his first name partnerships with the best local farmers and artisanal purveyors...or he just makes it himself.

Burnished copper lighting, leather sling chairs and salvaged woods provide a warm footing for this showcase of American tavern food at its best.

Very noisy for a dinner location. Looks like great bar scene however. I would not recommend this place for a meal.

Just awful .... food and not the best for dinner meals. This is more of a pub. We left and went a few steps to Clyde’s.

Food is better than average and prices are consistent with DC. Service is friendly and usually attentive, but once in a while they fail to refill a drink. We will return again as it’s a convenient location near the arena along with good food.

One would think that a restaurant, in a major city and next to a large arena, would be staffed and prepared for a concert/game/event. Nope. Even with a reservation, the service was AWFUL!!! It took 45 minutes to get food ordered and drinks served, after we already waited 30 mins to order. When I complained to the manager and said we could no longer wait for our order, he still brought over the check. I had to debate with him about what we didn't receive and would not be paying for. He tried to say he took off 5 drinks for our group, but he took off the happy hour priced drinks that we did get and not the 8 full price drinks we ordered and never received. The food we did get wasn't very good either. Find another place to go.
