Piatti - La Jolla
Wonderful restaurant. Great people, great food, great wine list. Always consistent.
In La Jolla celebrating my wife and I's 5th anniversary and Piatti was fantastic. I had mentioned the anniversary and asked if it might be possible to reserve seats on the patio. They did that and so much more. I'd recommend it to anyone even if you aren't celebrating anything - the food and service was amazing.
2 family vacation Saturday night dinner
What a beautiful restaurant you have. Nancy went out of her way to accommodate my party after I inadvertantly reserved for 2 instead of 3. I really appreciated that as we had our 91 year old mother with us. Overall a wonderful experience. Thank you and we will see you again when we return to La Jolla.
The food there is always great and the staff is well trained. We had the lasagna extra crispy and it was amazing. We will keep coming back.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was fantastic. I had made a mistake with the reservation on a very busy Friday night, but the manager stepped in and seamlessly/graciously took care of our party. The service was perfect, the food was special. That said, the concern shown by the manager to ensure we had a wonderful evening.
We had a most pleasant lunch here, thanks to recommendations from friends. The only downside was our difficulty parking nearby. But the food acts service was fabulous! I even broke my keto plan to have the first piece of bread for months. It was SO worth it.
Service was good, food was disappointingly average. Risotto balls were a promising start but both the seafood pasta and cannelloni were somewhat bland.
Love Piatti's! They wisely appreciate not only tourists but the local residents who patronize them year-round. Amanda--our server--is amazing!! Thank you!
We’ve eaten here for 25 years and are never disappointed. We love the veal and cannelloni. The Fritos mists is always a treat.
We have dined here several times and always enjoy it. Service this time was very slow, though probably not due to our server. The salmon special was very good. We will definitely return.
This is without a doubt our go-to restaurant when we have guests visiting us in La Jolla. The food and service are always reliable. Never a bad meal!
This use to be a favorite La Jolla restaurant but from this last visit, am wondering if the chef has changed and we had the same waiter that we had at our last visit. He was less than helpful when asked about wine offerings or suggestions about the menu. Am not thinking we will be back. Hopefully they can turn things around. It is a wonderful setting, but the service and food need to be improved in my mind.
Frequent Piatti’s often.
Brought family to one of my favorites.
Nice place. Average food that is overpriced. The service was outstanding though.
As always, we thoroughly enjoyed Piatti's. I've become fond of the vegan pizza. Don't be put off by the menu saying "vegan cheese" - vegan cheese is almost uniformly bad. In this case, it's cashew cream, and it's excellent. My wife had the ravioli and loved it.
Waitress seem to be arrogant when she saw some of us entering in flippers (it was a sunny hot day), and very agitated when we were not ready to order after she came back first time.
The service was excellent from start to finish.
Cute restaurant with delicious food & wine.
Piatti's was the perfect place to celebrate my husbands 56th birthday with our family. Food was terrific, The menu printed up personally for our party was a lovely touch. The Tiramisu was a fantastic ending to the meal. We love the bread and GARLIC dipping mix... be careful its really garlicky and so worth the delicious smack in the mouth.
Wonderful food, staff, ambiance for our anniversary! Will definitely come again! Molto buona!
Delicious food and prompt service. When I could t decide between two dishes the server suggested a half order if of one item to share. I would go back again and again!
I think we ordered wrong. Our table was good, so was the waiter, but chose the wrong salad and entee.
This is our "go to" to celebrate any occasion we can drum up. Food is consistently FABULOUS. Can't beat sitting out on patio by the tree.
My husband loved the lasagna and my chicken pasta dish was outstanding! We'll be back for a Sunday brunch with friends.
Piatti is our favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego. We keep trying to order new dishes when we go, but the Short Rib Cannelloni and the Saffron Pappardelle with Shrimp are so fantastic we just keep reordering. They also stick really nice house wines. The service staff is always wonderful as well. Always a great dining experience.
Always the best service, great food, and reasonable prices for Italian by the ocean.
Made note is was a business meeting dinner, yet three men tucked in a limited area next to a wall with 3 chairs.
Chances of me bringing business associates here again, very slim.
But the food was very good!
Very nice ambiance with reasonably good italian food and good value.
Excellent pasta !
We went twice this week. The first time was great - the food was wonderful and service was very good. The second time the food was mediocre; I had a worm in my salad, and two of the dishes had clearly been sitting under a warmer for a VERY longer time. The pasta had browned on top and become very hard, and the sauce had a thick film over it. I had the same dish at our prior visit and it was wonderful; this time it was so/so (and needed salt - I don’t think food should ever require added salt). We were told we would get bread and then it never came, and never came. Once our entrees were served (by the very kind maitre de - which was a little odd), our waiter came by the say the bread was in the oven and would be our soon. It never came. So weird. I’m not sure how these two experiences were so different. I came here a few years ago with my husband and as a nice experience, and obviously had a great experience earlier this week - which is why we came back. I’m unsure why this experience was so poor. It was definitely an off night for Piatti.
Our family spent a week in California - starting in San Diego and ending up on a house boat in Sausalito. Well, this was my favorite moment of the trip. This restaurant is fabulous. The outdoor ambiance is great, the service is spectacular, and the food is to die for. I would literally fly back to California just to visit this restaurant.
EVERYTHING on Piatti's menu is delicious. The servers are always kind and joyful and always bring laughter to add to the meal and love that's already present. My close friend brought me here a couple months ago, I have been back about 7 times since...including eating in and ordering out. I truly love this place and appreciate the excellence and love that they pour into the food and service!
This is my favorite Italian place in the La Jolla area. I always stop by there for dinner before taking in a play!
Been dining here for years our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Kids love the pastas here they licked their plates clean. The dip for the bread is good and savory.
Great place with some amazing food!!! I'll be coming back!
I have been here on many occasions but the Lunch I had was very disappointing. Food was average and service was terrible. I was very surprised.
I had planned a surprise bday dinner and made quite a few requests to help pull off the surprise! It all went as planned. My requests were to receive the delivery of the vegan bday cake that morning, to have our guests that were arriving earlier, to be seated and that they have a bottle of proseco and a few selected appetizers set out for them. All of these important details were handled beautifully and professionally by everyone I dealt with. From the hostesses, to our waiter. It was a very memorable and enjoyable celebration. We all had such a good time and stayed much longer than we all anticipated! Thank you all!
Piatti is always a nice choice!
