Picco is a reliable Italian classic in the heart of northern NJ. The entertainment that they have lined up weekly is what makes this place a destination. The food and service are also terrific, as is the bar, which can make any drink desired. I would say the only negative, and it's a big one, is the valet service. I guess the saying is true that you get what you pay for because valet parking is free but the kid who is in charge of it is terrible. He doesn't pay attention, is on his phone with earbuds in, and it took me a full five minutes to get his attention. This can really be a negative way to begin an evening out for most people.
The Sunday Brunch was amazing. The menu had a lot to choose from and everything was delicious. My family and I went after church and they are all still talking about how tasty the food was and already planning our next visit. I enjoyed the large selection of food to choose from and also the omelet station.
Vincent was great at accommodating my family because our reservation was for 7 but our headcount increased at the last minute to 8. The wait staff was very attentive without being annoying. I highly recommend Picco Tavern for a wonderful meal whether is a dinner or brunch. You won’t be disappointed.
Would never go there on a Saturday night again for dinner. Took 1.5 hours to be served.
Service so bad the waiter bought us a round of drinks. Once the food came, it was very
good -- but starving by that point.
I've been to Picco Tavern many times, but never for lunch. Lunch was great. Not many people there for a Wednesday, so it was quiet. I met a friend I hadn't seen in a very long while and they did not rush us which was great.
Food was good, service wasn’t good. They constantly forgot about my table, took forever to take my order. The place wasn’t busy so there wasn’t much of an excuse. Definitely not going back.
Prior to our arrival, I called the restaurant to request a table where we could see the group that was performing. The man I spoke to assured me that it would be taken care of. Upon arrival we asked to check our coats and was told by the receptionist to take them to our table and put them on the back of the chairs. We found out later that there was an affair upstairs but this wasn’t explained to us.We were then shown to a table where one of us had our back to the group. We asked about two other tables and were told sorry they’re reserved. We sat down at our assigned table and ordered drinks. We soon realized that on one side of the table was the path used by the servers and on the other side, up two steps, was the bar order area so there was constant flow of staff traffic around us. I went back to the server and told her that the table was unacceptable and that if she didn’t move us to another table we would finish our drinks an leave. She came back a short time later to say she might be able to switch us in a little while. She managed to do this. The food was quite good, however, the service perfunctory at best. When our entries were served they were put in front of us with no offer of fresh pepper or cheese for the pasta.
As much as we enjoyed the entertainment and food, it is doubtful that we will return.
Food and service are always excellent. If you like to eat dinner and dance you'll love it here.
Food and service were decent, but live music which was extremely loud during dinner spoiled the experience.
We went for Sunday Brunch and it was very good....wide enough selection for all..... Bravo
Didn't understand why the larger round tables had table cloths and the smaller square tables didn't. The food was good, but service really slow. The waiter only came over once after the initial drinks to ask if we wanted refills and it took forever for him to come and ask if we wanted desert.
The music was great, but the whole place was way to loud to have a conversation even at the back of the room.
The lower dining room was closed for a party, so we were put upstairs. We had a reservation for 7:30 and arrived on time. We didn’t get seated until about 7:55 and were put at a table they set up on the dance floor. The service was disappointing and the food was just average. I truly expected a better experience. It’s a very nice place and they had entertainment which was very nice
Food was amazing! Went with a party of six for my 45th birthday on a Thursday night. Loved everything!
Amazing.... wonderful staff and entertainment
It was very nice. Food was decent and a good value. We were appreciative that they didn’t rush us out. My only negative is some chafing dishes were empty and took time to replenish. But there was a nice assortment of food that you can eat and than go back for other dishes once they were replenished. We were a party of 6 friends getting together and we all enjoyed what we ate and had a nice time. We are planning to go back soon.
It was a Saturday night. The ambiance was vibrant. It was an active restaurant with music and a live singer. It seems to be catered to a much maturer crowd. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection.
The place was nice, kinda big as its the lobby floor of an apartment building, valet parking made sit easy. The food was good, not amazing but certainly good. The services however was fair, seemed like there was no coordination and was very haphazard with long wait times on drinks, check etc. Ambiance worked but the DJ came on at 10 which made any continued conversation at tables impossible. But place had a dance floor and large bar, Probably would not go back but still place was OK.
We were a group of six.....Tuesday nights include half price pastas from the menu...and a truly great value for top-notch pasta.
In addition to the pasta dishes, we also had the mussels and seafood salad...both were excellent choices. We all enjoyed our dinner in very comfortable surroundings.
The place was crowed but they had everything under control..Nancy does a wonderful job
The Picco Tavern was an interesting find. We had never been there and did;t know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Nancy, the hostess was very friendly and accommodating, even lit the fireplace for us. Food was good and at a reasonable price, We would go there again,
Worst service... food mediocre at best... very disappointed
We had a great time food was great and a good portion for money. Lived the ambiance and DJ. Will recommend to others
Enjoyed my Valentines dinner with my wife and another couple. From the appetizer to the maim course the food was fantastic. I had the Pico meatballs for an appetizer, they were excellent and came with spicy peppers. It reminded me of a dish that my Sicilian grandmother used to make. I then had lobster and shrimp in a vodka sauce with fresh linguine. It was amazing!! Service was great as was the atmosphere.
What says volumes about this place is they had a special Valentines menu and also their regular menu.
I do highly recommend the Pico Tavern. I will be returning
YES I WOULD RECOMMEND PICCO TAVERN TO MY FRIENDS BECAUSE THE FOOD THERE IS EXCELENT AND SO ARE THE DRINKS!
We had a reservation, they told us give us a few minutes 45 minutes Later they were telling us it's going to be a really long time, we have no tables... mind you they confirmed the rev with me at 10a. They were seating other tables that walked in after us extremely rude and unprofessional. We ended up leaving without eating and wil never go back.
Awful awful people!!!
Great service, vibrant bar, great weekend entertainment...food is consistently good, not spectacular.
It was wife and I celebtated our 2 year anniversary, and was told after we sat down there would be a $5 charge for the band? My bill for the 2 of us was $190. Does this go the same for the patrons at the bar? And I also tried to pick your table but was told this is only during the week ?
Not a happy couple
Loved our food and service! Looking forward to going back!
Awesome neighborhood gem. Booked the table because Open Table was running a special on points. I am so glad I did. Every aspect was Top notch. The bar had a great selection, the Zuppa Di Clams was the BEST we ever had, and the menu is extensive. Do not pass this place up.
The atmosphere was great. Service was excellent. Food was really good, although both desserts we had were stale.
Food and service were amazing. Had appetizer and entree from Specials menu. The band was great. Dance floor large. But it was noisy before the band but now a favorite!
As always we enjoyed our dining experience. Our friends who dined with us were here for the first time...they said they will dine again soon.
This place is fantastic!! Beautiful decor and healthy food!! The service was excellent and the band was great!!We loved it!!! Can’t wait till Saturday night to come again!!
Pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our meals. I had a special - linquini with Alaskan King Crab which was excellent. The apple galette dessert was also great. We will definitely go back. As we were leaving we saw some musicians coming in so we missed the entertainment.
Everything was good except for the noise level. It was way tooooo Loud. Could not hear each other
It would be better if they could get a handle on the parking situation. The valets try but it is tough getting in and out. The food was great but I asked for a substitution on a side dish and they said there weren’t any. I would have paid for it but it wasn’t an option. Also, the waiter did not understand what we were saying even when we repeated it. Although, he was nice, he seemed too rushed and tried to make up for it at the end of the meal. All in all, I would still return there.
Food was very good, great selection. Service was average...had to ask for water, coffee and plates to be removed.
Always a wonderful staff with consistanly very good food
I don’t like the new surroundings. It use to be more elegant with tablecloths etc. the new setting is more like a diner. Food was ok. Why did they change it?
The ambiance was very nice. Place was beautifully decorated and spacious. Food was good. Portions a little small and was a bit pricey but overall quality was good. The wait staff was a nor overly attentive but they were friendly. We went on a Saturday night and they had entertainment. The singer was Anthony Duke Claus and he put on a real good show.
