What a find! A walk up from the new Oval hotel to this lovely restaurant. Fresh decor with a converted home makes for much more intimate dining than a big noisy hall! We felt welcome. Loved the drink and food choices and the unhurried approach to our meal experience. Thank you. We have recommended to many and will be back.

Very good experience. Allowed our group the time and space to enjoy each other and the ambience of the place. Very accommodating.

Staff were friendly and flexible. Food was nice, we just had some nibbles with a glass of wine.
Casual, relaxed, friendly and fairly priced with great service. Will go again for similar casual catch up with friends.

Food was amazing, service not the best as we had to ask for most of our stuff, eg. still water, dessert menu and for someone to take our order. Will be back but just wasn't thrilled with the service as we normally would be treated at other restaurants.
Also the coffee was boiling hot and my partner could not even hold it in her hand to take a sip. This also meant that the milk was burnt and the coffee didn't taste nice, so she didn't drink it.

We had a business lunch there on Friday and we found the service was poor and the food was very average.

I received an email confirming the booking.

On arrival we found the cafe closed.
THere was no notification or apology.

We ate at the Italian cafe across the road!

Amazing food once we got it but it took an hour and a half! There was a glitch in their ordering system apparently but we weren't told until we asked about our food, we weren't updated unless we asked. I would have appreciated a complimentary coffee or something while we waited but nothing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our date night at Piccoli Piatti! The service was great - super friendly and attentive. We enjoyed some delicious spritz cocktails that had nice, natural flavours without being too sweet. Food was lovely - oysters and salmon were fantastic, arancini had rave reviews. It was nice and chilled upstairs, but would have been a nicer vibe next to the window (although it was a super last minute booking so we can’t complain). Overall, a great experience and we’ll visit again.

My first time there, enjoyed the food and drinks menu. Gluten free pasta was great, and enjoyed the May y gluten free options . Would recommend to friends .

We had a special graduation dinner here and it was excellent. Very generous portions, friendly staff and great night!

Was fourth or fifth visit to this restaurant in the past year, always bringing others with us. Disappointed that favourite and popular items have been removed from the menu recently; also disappointed at the apparent rule of two maximum corkages per table. This is not stated on either the menu of the website, so available information is misleading. At $15 per corkage, for zero cost to the restaurant, corkage is good business!! While we might visit again, the guests that we took with us this time will not. A missed opportunity to increase client base.

Good food but service was very slow and having said we didn't want oysters ... low and behold oysters appeared! Compensated for by the excellent value.

Really excellent food. Just disappointed with amount of seafood on the oversized fritto misto.
It would be even better if they could provide their own desserts (seems to me those if the fridge cabinet are brought in) - but I must say the vegan nut bar was also excellent. Looking forward to our next booking in 2 weeks.

I love this place. We can hear each other, the ambience is really pleasant and the menu is appealing. Staff are great - friendly, courteous and efficient. I love the gelati cart - really trendy addition. This place is a very welcome addition to O'Connell Street.

Excellent all round, we were a table of 9 and everyone said how fab the food, service, prices and venue was-all very happy and will definitely return!!

Excellent food and great atmosphere. The only downside was the waiters seemed frantic and forgot a few little things (ie bringing table water, didn't tell us we had to go up to pay bill etc). This young restaurant will mature with age and become one of the hallmarks of adelaides fine Italian.

Service was lovely, only complaint was it being a bit too bright so didn’t feel as intimate, also being a Tuesday night it was fairly quiet but that’s expected on weeknights :)

The restaurant was very good and the food delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive, but seemed quite under pressure and we got the impression they were short staffed. Thereby we had to wait or ask for what we wanted sometimes.

Obviously they did not prepare adequately for the staffing and quantity of food required for Father’s Day. Very slow service, a number of menu items unavailable and no dessert available. Quality of food was varied among table, some nice meals, others poor tasting.

Pleasant surroundings and décor, with attentive waiters. The food was quite disappointing. The risotto was nothing like a real risotto made with arboio rice. Instead it was dry and appeared like steamed long grain rice. The chicken was quite dry and bland and what was meant to be homemade gnocci was definitely not.

The service was good with good advice when asked. The entree and mains were excellent and of good size so didnt try the dessert offerings. Wine list good maybe a little pricey but not too bad. Will go back.
