Peitro's has been consistently outstanding in all categories. So popular on the weekends, I am told by many friends, when it can have a higher noise level when packed (what place does not), I dine out typically during the week (I am fortunate that my schedule permits this). I am grateful they are open Mondays as they are without doubt, the best available that day in the St. James wide catchment area- authentic, with an outstanding selection of creative food and wine list and outstanding service. If you think you are beyond this area, it is well worth the trip:) For the remainder of the week, there is some competition that they can match in value!
This is the second time they kept us waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time for a table. Not to mention they don’t have enough real estate to keep people waiting.....we weren’t the only ones. It was quite annoying to have to stand in a small crowded space for 45 minutes past reservation time waiting to be seated. They clearly over book this place on a regular basis. Not to mention their parking lot isn’t equipped to handle a crowd that size so it’s nearly impossible to park in their lot and there isn’t on street parking available. Due to the large crowd the staff took an excessive amount of time to take our other and serve our food. I brought this to the attention to multiple staff members and the only thing a got was a weak and empty apology. I can’t see myself going here again anytime soon
Food was average. I felt like I make better shrimp. Was blah no flavor. Also paid for fries we never got.
Absolutely love Pietro’s. The food is delicious and the service top notch. Can’t wait to come back for another meal.
We had a 7:30 reservation and they sat us at 8:45! We were just about to leave when they sat us. This is a serious problem that this restaurant needs to change. It apparently happens regularly. It was not a fluke.They did offer us a complimentary glass of champagne and apologies, but honestly, i just wanted to eat. The other issue is that the tables are so close together that they have to pull the table out so you can get in or out. It feels like you are eating with the people next to you.
What makes it so frustrating is that the food is really good, fresh and inventive. I hope they change the way they handle reservations so that we can go again. Until then, we will stick with restaurants that honor their reservations.
Always outstanding. It’s a must stop whenever I am on the island. Go out of your way to dine here.
It was our first time there. We made 7:30 reservations we waited 35 mins to be seated. our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious. it just was very loud and you sit very close together not a good place for a date night if you want to talk. We will try it again

Went early on a Sunday and had an outstanding meal. We had aracini, beet salad, pork chops and roast chicken. Everything was delicious, although the pork wasn’t as tender as I had hoped. Flavors were tasty! Coffee was nice and flavorful. Service was very good.

We only started going to Pietro last month and have now made it our place to go. The food is outstanding, had the pork chops, skirt steak and the ossobucco as well as some sides of vegtables. They were all very tasty and the food was served hot. Service is outstanding

The gnocchi with truffle sauce was absolutely amazing. We went at 5 on a Saturday and it was empty and quiet. It was a bit chilly so bring a sweater. Nicely decorated for Valentine’s Day. Service was great.
Our first time eating at the restaurant and you are immediately made to feel welcome. Our friends were there ahead of us and had a lively conversation going with the friendly bartender. Our waiter was attentive (but not overly so) and also very amiable. We all enjoyed our appetizers (I tasted both the eggplant and an artichoke appetizer - delicious) and we had 4 different main courses, which we were all very pleased with. My friend seemed to especially enjoy the skirt steak.
What really made the evening special was Pietro himself coming to our table and spending time talking with us and having a real conversation. We were the last table there and I was concerned about not holding up the staff who had already worked a long day. Pietro insisted on our staying and enjoying our Grappa and Port. While the food was outstanding, it was the people that truly made it special.
As always excellent... a little tight on space but the food makes up for it!
We dined this past Saturday of Restaurant week. First I need to say that the owners are fantastic and were extremely hands on and accommodating and genuinely interested in us and our experience, however we should not have chosen this particular nite to dine there. I was unaware that the special menu was stopped at 6pm on this nite, and did not see this noted on their website when I made the reservation. It should have been more prominent I guess. I had been wanting to dine here anyway, and since we had a date with friends thought it would be a good choice. We had an 8.30 reservation and when we arrived early to enjoy a drink at the bar, we could not even get in the door. We finally were seated just before 9pm It was that crowded and I assume they were that far behind in seating. Mistake was that they never should have booked so heavily, especially when you know people like to linger in this quaint atmospshere with some wine. Looked like no one was getting up from their earlier reservations. Anyway the service was attentive considering the full house. The appetizers were great and all of our dinners were excellent except for one which our guest did not care for (strange tasting cream sauce). I believe we were just about the last people in the room just before 11. Anyway, its a hot spot, the food is good if not pricey, and I would come back on a quiet weeknight.

We had a reservation for 730 we were seated at 8:10
We were squished in between two other tables with no movement and you could hear everything other people were speaking about.The parties on either side of us had never been there and neither had we and we all agreed we wouldn't return. It appeared if you knew the Dining staff that you were made first with service. We were told there was no ketchup for the fries or mayonnaise. We asked for a lemon for our water and never received it. The food was brought and we spoke to our server one time. Overall our food was good everything is à la cart. It took 15 minutes to get a check. Sorry to say we will not return I feel like they stuff people into a small place and move them out as quickly as possible. The overall building is beautiful and would be much better served With a couple fewer tables and their reservations spread further apart . This restaurant Should allow people to set and enjoy their meal !

I loved my appetizer. My main course was skimpy and not as good as the description made it sound. I tasted no duck in the ravioli. The dessert was even skimpier. I understand this was a special menu for restaurant week but there were only 3 choices at the restaurant week price. There were a few other choices where you had to add an additional $14-$18. My feeling was that if you are going to participate in restaurant week don’t inflate prices from what is advertised, have a bigger selection, and keep the portions what they would be normally

I will be back
First time there for restaurant week. It was spectacular. The owner and staff were quite attentive, the food was delicious. Had the shrimp and scallops for appetizer and they were great. I had the Broatini (made in a cheese wheel) and it was like being back in Italy. We will definitely be back.
The food is delicious, well plated and the restaurant owner is hands-on.
I've eaten there once a week for the past 4 weeks! Be sure to make a reservation on Friday & Saturday nights! See you there!
Considering it was restaurant week this review may not be accurate for normal times. Restaurant has nice decor. Rear parking lot was unlit, an accident waiting to happen. Staff was pleasant but totally overwhelmed. Food was good. Music was much too loud especially since customer conversations were very loud. Didn't help that some patrons were not using indoor voices. Can't recommend them but would give them a second chance under normal circumstances.

Pietro has consistently served the freshest most deliciously prepared farm to table cuisine time after time. The service is awesome even when they are busy . The entire atmosphere coupled with the exciting people you meet make for a special experience . I suggest you allow Pietro to select a meal for you paired with the perfect wine. You will happy you did.

It is fast becoming one of our places to go--the noise level huge negative--can't hera one another w/o raisin our voices.
