Pietro's Italian - Radnor
This is my second time here. First was a mom’s night and the food was so yummy and it’s fun. Next we brought Grandparents for lunch(we spent last summer in Tuscany with) and everyone agrees- delicious- faster than an 8 hour flight. ;) The Eagles game was on. Everything was amazing... our new spot...
Food took a little longer than expected but everything was tasty when it arrived! Pietro’s is a go-to place for us!
I ordered the white mussels as an appetizer and the Veal Marsala as my entree. The entree came with a mushroom risotto. Both were very good. My wife ordered the Chicken Limone. It came with a cauliflower pinata. My wife complained that the way the chicken was cooked made it seem under cooked. The cauliflower was good. I tried it and the flavor was very good. The problem is the service. It was very slow. The bread wasn't served right away. The mussels appetizer was served with my meal. My entree was a little on the cold side after I finished the appetizer. The chocolate moose brownie and the tiramisu was excellent.
Good food and good servicev
Food not up to typical standards. Mussels cold, cauliflower charred and gravy/sauce looked like paste and leftover from the night before. Disappointed.
Solid Italian food with some specialty pizzas. Great wine selection and excellent service. Will definitely be back!
Exceedingly noisy, could not carry on a conversation without screaming.
Here for Villanova's Family weekend and thought we'd give Pietro's (in Radnor) a try based on the reviews that we read. Coming from an Italian household, this food did not hit the mark for me. We were so disappointed.
We ordered truffle French fries and the rice balls as appetizers. Little did we know that this would be the best part of the meal. The rice balls were tasty but the $7 truffle fries were simply French fries with a little grated parmigiano cheese on it - huh?!
We were all excited about trying the Rigatoni Bolognese. I ordered the Lasagna in a béchamel with bolognese sauce and my husband ordered the Rigatoni bolognese. The other two people in our party also ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese. The sauce was not good. It almost tasted as if there was oregano in the bolognese- what kind of Italian restaurant does that? As far as the béchamel sauce goes, it was non-existent. The table's consensus was that no one enjoyed their meal. However, the restaurant was packed - so maybe it's just me and the food that I grew up eating is authentic Italian. Pietro’s clearly is not.
It was very noisy overall but that didn’t bother us. The outside patio looked lovely.
Offer a small Caesar salad
We have always loved going to Pietro's in Center City Philadelphia. We are thrilled to learn they have a restaurant nearby in Radnor. Although the menu is not as extensive as the restaurant downtown, the food is just as delicious. Whether for a casual or more dressy occasion, we love to go to Pietro's because we know we will have a good meal in a wonderful atmosphere. We will continue to return for a very enjoyable evening. Service is great. Ambiance is wonderful, especially during the warm weather at the outside seating.
Delicious broccoli pizza. Add to your regular menu please!!!!
Pietro’s is a nice casual dining spot! They have good specials for happy hours and some lunch specials. Their lunch sandwiches are massive!
The food was very good and we enjoyed our food. The restaurant is very cute with lots of character! The service was really unacceptable though. Just one thing after the other! First our appetizer, the calamari came. Our server didn’t bring it out, a very young looking guy brought it from the kitchen. It didn’t have any marinara sauce with it and I asked him if he could bring it and he said he would. A good 10 minutes passed and I had to flag down our waiter to bring it and it was at least 5 more minutes until he brought it. By this time the calamari was cold. It was still good though because the marinara was very warm. He asked if we’d like bread as well and we said yes. A few minutes later he brought our pizza and asked if we’d like anything else and I said yes, the rest of our food! We also ordered a pasta dish and truffle fries. He had a confused look and said he’d check on it. Several minutes later he came back with a menu and said he’d failed to put in the rest of the order and he’d be sure and get it out quickly. Probably 15 minutes later, he brought the fries and pasta out but we were pretty full from the pizza. We asked if we could get the bread we asked for with the appetizer also. We also asked for Parmesan cheese for the pizza that he never brought so we ended up taking one from another table. Food was good but a very disappointing experience over all.
Pizza took an hour to come out on with a relatively small customer count in the restaurant. Manager explained they were busy filling take out orders. If you go to the restaurant call for a take out order then tell them you are seated in the restaurant.
Always good . Often the check in is indifferent
We had reservations for dinner for 4! When we arrived we asked to eat outside and said we were happy to wait the 20-30 min or more that were projected ! 20 min later we were seated inside when told it would be a while. When we sat down near the window .. we saw an empty table outside! I went back and asked the hostess if it was possible to sit there. She said she was unaware of an empty table and had just been outside .. she went out side again and saw the table and kindly re directed us there!
Out server came by and took drink orders .. we also asked for water for everyone! Drinks came ( she was not aware that you had non alcoholic beer for one of us who ordered it) .. ( we had all eaten there many times over the past 5 years and knew youbhad it ! She never brought water and never brought bread to our table! We placed 2 salads to share ( one between each couple ) and 2 entries to share . A small pizza between 1 couple and eggplant park between the other couple.. she did not remove our salad plates at the time of the pizza arrival..we waited and waited And she never came back to the table .. 12 min later we asked someone to send her back and we asked about the eggplant parm.. “ I didn’t notice that you didn’t get it “ she came back and said it would be coming .. 15 min later it arrived. She brought our check and took the cards to split it and when she delivered it back to us ... there was no pen!
One of the members of our party was a for we manager at gulliftys .. each of us are grown adults / with grown children.. and have eaten many times .. sometimes weekly at Pietros over the years ..
We understand that you may have been short staffed?? As it was Labor Day weekend .. but we also saw many servers we knew from previous visits there who may not have been looking out for fellow TEAM members .. also the manager usually surveys the inside and outside and stops by tables when we are there .. and no site of the manager that night ? Maybe at the shore ?
This is our ‘go to’ Italian in our area - good selection of dishes - convenient and good value
Very good pizza and service . Near Radnor hotel. Plenty of parking and also nice outside dining area
We had a wonderful day outside under the garden terrace - great weather, great food, great service...Couldn't ask for better !!
Delicious food and a very pleasant atmosphere.
Made a last minute reservation at Pietro's to join a friend for dinner and it was a good pick. Enjoyed my limoncello martini and both of us had the cauliflower pizza with peppers. Would probably pick a different vegetable next time - for some reason I didn't love the peppers. Our server, Marina, was great. Super friendly and efficient. Only minor thing was that the cappuccino machine was not working.
Live this place! Fantastic casual Italian with outstanding food, and fun, helpful, energetic servers.
We were a party of four, we ordered four different entrees, and the food was very good. I can say that my Chicken Limone was absolutely excellent. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
Modest pricing on solid Italian dishes. Plus pizza is very good. Nice beer and cocktail selection too
Had a ‘lunch special’. Delicious. Portion was large - took half home. Great lunch deal.
Good Italian restaurant in the Main Line with a really pretty quiet outdoor terrace.
The homemade bread is delicious however we did not enjoy the bean-olive oil dip it was served with.
The crispy calamari was good, lightly coated and non greasy.
Both the chicken shrimp linguine and rigatoni alla vodka had big chunks of onions which to me spoiled the dishes a bit. At the end, I had a whole side of my plate full of onions. I have never had that and wished I sent both back. However, the sauce was really good. The shrimp and chicken were perfectly cooked.
Everyone around us was having pizza - I guess we’d have that next time.
Great pizza and great outdoor dining space. Friendly service too
We love their partner restaurant, Estia, so we had high hopes. There is not an outstanding pizza place in our area, so there is a prime opportunity. My guest had been to another one of Pietros restaurants and highly recommended it. Both of us were disappointed. Service was terrible. Our server was clearly overextended. She presented our menus and our bill but we never saw her in between. We ordered the beet salad, which had no beets, but since no one came back to check on us, we could not get that rectified. We ordered a simple Margherita pizza. There was no basil on it, and clearly it sat for awhile before the server picked it up and brought it to the table. We will not return nor recommend. Sad to see such a prime opportunity wasted.
They served chilled red wine?
Hello, We keep most of our wines in wine coolers, currently our reds are set at 60. Sorry that was too cold for your liking and can always serve room temperature red upon request. Kind Regards, Gus Pashalis
Great food, reasonably priced, good service.
Food was delicious and service was very good.
Good spot for the kids. Service was a little slow (especially with 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year olds), but it worked out fine. The food is a little pricey; however, we will return.
Our group of 13 people (4 different families) was supposed to have a late “happy hour” lunch at Pietro’s in Radnor today. However, one of the families was not allowed to eat at the restaurant because they had brought “outside food” for their 7 year old son who has severe food allergies. Instead of being accommodating, the server and restaurant manager instructed them to leave the restaurant because they had a “strict policy” on not allowing outside food in that restaurant.
They didn’t offer an acceptable explanation as to the intent of the policy. As mentioned above, the reason why they brought the outside food is because of their son’s food allergies. Unless the restaurant owner can absolutely guarantee that there would be no cross contamination in their kitchen, Pietros should have allowed the family to give their son the outside food instead of taking on the potential risk of an allergic reaction occurring.
If the restaurant’s concern was losing out on what would have been a single food order for that child, keep in mind that we were a group of 13 people who all ordered food and drinks.
And all of this on Father’s Day too!
It’s a real shame as Pietro’s has not only lost 4 families / 13 people as customers, but we will also be sharing this negative experience with our extensive network of friends who would otherwise have been future customers.
Dear Anonymous, Unfortunately due to liability reasons we're unable to accommodate any outside foods. Kind Regards, Gus Pashalis
Pietro's has great pizza and other Italian food. We ate on patio. Lemon chicken is excellent. So is pasta and chicken.
Great outdoor space but it was entirely in the shade so bring a wrap to keep warm. Food was amazing!
We were seated promptly, but then ignored while others were served around us. We left without ever talking to a server and will never return.
Need to reduce noise level with plants or fabric! Food is good...wait staff could improve by removing plates before bringing entree.
We like Pietro's and will go back but last night was not the best night. Our waitress was pleasant but the service was noticeably slow, even though the place wasn't particularly crowded. My pizza was good; my husband's zucchini pasta was bland. Next time!
Very good food!
Came for the live music at happy hour which was great. Food is always average but the happy hour prices make it a good value.
