Pig ’N’ Whistle - West End
Awesome spot for family or just with friends, enjoyed everybit, especially bringing our baby with us, great experience xx 😍
Great relaxed pub style bar and dining experience. Food was good.
Great location, big areas loved the dining room went around 8pm and was lovely and quiet
The food that was sent out was below average. My fathers food was so bad he couldn’t eat it. It was limp, mushy and inedible
After a tough year you made catching up with family a pleasure. Thank you.
The food is always delicious, and the garlic bread is a MUST. Service was not the best, and cocktails took very long to make, even though the place was mostly empty.
The food was great and the staff were very welcoming.
The staff in general were bordering on rude, not friendly - looking like they didn't want to be there. I ordered a glass of red, it was old and oxidised - did they care, did they put it one side - no. After my partner & I discussed this with the staff member then a "manager" they begrudgingly offered a refund
Was expecting an enjoyable night out however, two legal 18 year olds were denied access to the bar or to purchase any alcoholic drinks due to being with minors who were 17. They even offered to drink away from the others however, were still denied service. Was just wondering how this is any different to other adults drinking at the same table and in the same dining room as minors younger than 17?? There’s nothing stopping any adult from giving their child alcohol as a minor so why is this different for anyone else?! Overall, very poor customer service and we are disappointed. Also, asked for some water and were rudely told to get it ourselves from the bar.
Most disgusting worthless burger I’ve ever had. Bad service, expensive and poor food. Won’t be back. It was meant to be a special occasion too.
re- show dinner for 2. The Dining Room was a good choice since it was much quieter than the rest of the venue. Staff were friendly and attentive and provided good service. Good menu choice and wine/drinks list. Food was good - steaks were cooked perfectly and arrived in a timely fashion. The venue is well located around the performing arts venue at Southbank Parklands. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
The waiter was wonderful, she was very polite and every time offering a good service
The dining experience was excellent and I would highly recommend to anyone.
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Pig and Whistle. The waitress who showed us to our table and served us was lovely and attentive. We ordered entree, four main meals and two desserts and all were delicious. The prices aren’t cheap but the quality is great. Not knowing anything about the place we were put in a nice ‘dining’ area however we would have been just as happy in the main ‘bar’ area. The only downside was a few mosquitoes. A great place to dine in Brisbane.
Fast service. But the food quality was very poor.
Server didn’t know what meals were made up of, pretty average tasting, just pretty average food for the area..
We quite enjoyed the food and it did arrive fairly quickly but the restaurant was full of mosquito's for some reason. We killed around 8 of them and told the waitress but she seemed indifferent.
Not enough bar staff
5 ques 20 deep took forever to get a drink
A fantastic place to watch live sports. Great atmosphere.
The seating was squashy. We were all largish people and found the seating uncomfortable. Next time i would ask for internal seating
Very noisy atmosphere ,difficult to hear conversation. Live music as well as 3 tv playing. Bar tender very stroppy as poured drink with ice and I had wanted no ice . Asked to change it for another one Diet Coke and then had an attitude about it.
Great food and atmosphere, will definitely go back.
Good honest food in a first class setting with friendly staff.
Almost always peaceful.
Perfect for pre-theatre dining
Pleasant venue, good service, reasonable food, handy to entertainment district
Food was diabolical. Fish and Chips were cremated and the fish was as dry as a bone (probably frozen fillets). Beer was non-descript and tasteless. Very poor value for money and a very poor advert for British Pub food.
Bar was hopping so we asked to eat in the dining room . Was told "No" as it was only for people with reservations. Got online with opentable, booked for right then, showed the server. Service was nothing but downhill from there. Not sure if they were mad we knew we cold book online, or if they didn't like that we were able to get around them, but our main food server was extremely rude and the original server didn't bother to come back out and show us to our table. I had to ask someone else. Plus side, food is fantastic, and the sticky date pudding and trifle desserts were heavenly.
We booked on line to have dinner in the dining room in the air conditioning
When we arrived for our booking we were made to wait then we were told that we were being seated in the bar area - extremely loud and not air conditioned
We were not able to talk to each other at all the noise was so loud - the singer was extremely loud too
We were told that they had had a problem with flies in the dining room yesterday - well yuck makes me not want to eat there at all and then if it was yesterday then all online bookings for the dining room should have been blocked so as not to inconvenience the customer
I was told that entrees were not served first and that all good courses would come out together - lovely !!!!!! NOT
My fish was - fish of the day - very very dry
All round experience was terrible and will never go there again
Nice seating arrangements, however food was very expensive. I ordered a Margherita pizza which was impossible to cut through with the blunt knives and over cooked crust. Part of the pizza sauce was burnt so I was basically eating burnt, crusty dough. Very, very expensive. Would not come here again. Also, very limited vegetarian options.
Good value upmarket Pub Food, well presented and cheerful environment.
Good for pretheatre dining
Visited Pig’n’Whistle restaurant prior to Qpac show and was once again very impressed.
This has become our “go to “place for a good value, tasty meal when in the South Brisbane area. The standard of food is always great - their burgers some of the best we’ve had. Gado Gado salad light and tasty. Great wine selection as well.
Service is always quick and efficient and staff are smiling and welcoming. Big thank you to our wonderful waiter in the restaurant who very kindly chased us up the street with my scarf I’d carelessly left behind- good on you!
Pre-show dinner. Terrific timing!
Love the place 😄
Great food, great service with plenty of room for large groups.
Great food Great friendly service. No long waits for our meal.
We were booked in to see a show and asked for prompt service. Service was wonderful.
Food was very good and came to us very quickly, all food had by everyone in my group was very good.
We ate early (pre matinee) so restaurant area was empty but was a quiet and comfy corner we had anyway. Waitress was lovely and food was well timed.
Celebrating my husbands birthday!
Bar staff/waitress etc were very friendly and helpful!
Made for a great evening
A disappointing start to this visit, as the bar attendant didn't seen to understand about the OpenTable booking, and said the dining room wasn't open for lunch, and suggested seating in the bar area. When advised of the booking and that the restaurant did open for lunch (from past visits), and a seat taken in the dining room, a new but friendly waitress provided fair service.
It seems new staff and inconsistent training leaves room for improvement presently.
