The Pitcher Inn

The ambiance & service were good. I was disappointed with the carrot salad, which was my appetizer. The portion served was so small, I kept from asking whether or not three other people had gotten to the salad before it was served to me. For the price, it was not good value. My husband started with the mushroom soup & thought it was very good. We both found the striped bass, which we had for our main entree, good & had an interesting mix of flavors.
Below expectations... we ordered a meat sandwich; the bread was dry and the meat a bit chewy. Not what we were expecting from Relais & Chateaux.
Tracks is fabulous relaxed eating with excellent drink menu and high quality, if small menu and great customer service. Setting/ambiance is perfect post ski hangout
We had one of the best experiences at this location Very friendly staff awesome service and great food. I would recommend this beautiful little hotel to everyone going to Warren. Thanks again to the staff for all their work.
We had the most delicious dinner at Tracks by the fire - their cozy casual downstairs pub - after a day of skiing! Creamy mushroom soup and pasta with grilled romanesco in a pesto sauce that I would order again and again!
Can't wait to go back!
We really enjoyed the lower level bar area. Much more casual and a great atmosphere. Same food menu and a very warm and cozy feel. We were supposed to go upstairs for dinner reservation but asked if we could stay downstairs and they were very accommodating.
We dine here at least once a year when we are in the area to ski. The ambiance is warming and peaceful especially sitting near the cozy fireplace. Our meals were outstanding , the rabbit pie was so rich in flavor and the pasta dish was also wonderful, don’t miss the opportunity to dine here.
We love the atmosphere and the great cocktail selection! Betsy is a wonderful server and very attentive !
Kayla was excellent server. Food very good. Nice atmosphere.
Tracks was a lively place for a drink and dinner.
Food was great and the service was excellent.
The Main Dining Room is lovely.
The service throughout the Inn is outstanding.
The food was excellent!
One of the most lovely Inns in the Mad River Valley. Excellent, personal service. The food is overall outrageous although my last trip it was less than stellar. I have to chalk it up to a very slow night. Even given the slight miss on dinner, this is well worth the price.
Warm inviting fireside seating downstairs in the pub area was so enjoyable with yummy food , drink and games (pool table and table shuffleboard) looking forward to our next visit !
The Pitcher Inn is elegant and charming. Our table by the fireplace was lovely. It was interesting to watch the chef actually charred fennel on the grate in the fire for someone’s appetizer.
The menu is limited, but offers enough variety to satisfy.
Every dish that we had was prepared with thoughtful flavors, presented beautifully and most importantly, delicious. Last but not least, the service was exceptional.
I would highly recommend an evening at The Pitcher Inn.
The best meal ever at the PI, veal two ways, beautifully cooked slices of loin plus a lovely piece of ossa buco in a delicious sauce.
Wonderful place for a special occasion.
They put us in a different restaurant from what we reserved. Put us in tracks instead of regular dining room which wasn’t cool
Good Morning, Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry for the reservation mix up. This would never have been done intentionally. I was not aware of the mix-up, or I would have quickly fixed the situation. We pride ourselves on great guest service, though we are human and mistakes do happen. Whether dining with us or somewhere else, please let a staff member know when something is not right, it is the only way we can fix it the issue. Kind Regards, Lorien Wroten, General Manager.
Anne Fennelley is amazing at her job!
The Pitcher Inn is a gem. Tracks, or the downstairs tavern room, is cozy & comfortable & beautifully decorated. Service was truly outstanding, as were the cocktails, albeit libations are quite expensive here. My husband & I split a charcuterie plate, which was superb: the cheeses & salumi are special, as are the chef’s inventuve & perfect pairings of relish & pickles. My husband enjoyed his parpadelli with mushroom cream, which just needed salt pepper to enliven it, and I enjoyed my delicately fried, crispy fish & chips. I heartily recommend this restaurant, but do note that drink prices are on the high side.
Another wonderful meal, good service and a lovely setting. Do not miss the cassoulet.
Pitcher Perfect 😁
This classic inn has been thoughtfully restored.
Wide, spacious dining room opens out onto a romantic, stone patio beside a rushing stream. Lush garden setting, string lights entwined with grape vines.
Our waiter, Will was extremely knowledgeable in the menu, food preparation and explained be the sublte differences of local cheeses and other farm to table ingredients.
Each dining room ( there are two) contain fireplaces which add warmth, charm and ambience. All tables are adorned with lit taper candles and crisp white table linens.
Original oil paintings adorn the walls.
Our Filet mignon was exceptional and cooked to perfection. The chef pays careful attention as to not to overwhelm the diner with extraneous ingredients. Presentation was artistic.
Dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. Marzipan Kumquat tart
With apple, fig compote and creme anglaise.
Highly recommend the Pitcher Inn and look forward to a return visit.
Absolutely loved the pitcher in! Our server was great, food was amazing! And next time I want to stay the night!
Wonderful food and ambiance, enjoyed cocktails downstairs at Tracks before we headed upstairs for dinner. Wanted to experience the restaurant to see if we wanted to host our son's college graduation here. Definite YES!!!
We ate in the downstairs bar, Tracks, and loved every dish we ordered as a group. The duck appetizer was delicious, as well as the burger, and cavatelli. Our server was very knowledgeable and took excellent care of our group.
We loved the Pitcher Inn. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts and dinners were fabulous and fresh with local produce.
This restaurant/ bar is welcoming and charming. The service is always very good and authentic and the food honest and diversified. Perfect for an après-ski or a more formal dinner.
We go to Pitcher Inn once a year, it's a 350 mile round trip but we think it's worth the drive. I had the scallop and fois gras appetizer and then the elk chop. The scallop dish was amazing and the elk chop was very good.
Warren Vt is up in the mountains and the Pitcher Inn is located in beautiful surroundings. The easy way to get there is on 89 but we recommend that you take the scenic route along Route 100, if you want even more fun take Route 116 though Lincoln, the Lincoln Gap is the steepest road in America.
We were very disappointed with our meal. We’ve been eating at the Pitcher Inn for years and have never seen a more unexciting menu or had such ordinary food. Service, of course, was fantastic. Hope this was just an aberration.
We eat here monthly and never have a bad experience.... just sad when they are so busy we can't get in on short notice.
Best dining experience in VT.
Great service by Betsy and her team, delicious food and great ambience!
Stayed two nights at The Pitcher Inn while in town for a wedding nearby. Had the opportunity to have dinner in their place the first night, quite frankly, not expecting such a great experience. Beautiful, relaxing room, with a “New England” tone that provided exactly what we needed after a long day. The servers were friendly, informative, and provided just enough attention to keep us comfortable. Again, not expecting a spectacular meal, we got one. From the bread selection through desert, every course was perfectly proportioned and prepared. While one meal doesn’t necessarily make a restaurant good or bad, it was obvious that this wasn’t The Pitcher Inns “first rodeo”.
Wonderful and yummy as always! Will see you again soon!
This was an outstanding evening. The food was amazing. The service top notch. What a gem this is in Warren, Vermont.
We've enjoyed going here for years, and Tracks is as good as ever - but the food in the dining room has changed. Pasta entree was appetizer size and prices were high for portion sizes. Very disappointing.
Our table of two couples, were seated, and offers drinks. The servers were the best team I have ever seen. They all seemed to really enjoy their jobs. The first course was served. The calamari was seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The entries all four were served in unison. The servers were fantastic.
A lovely setting for our honeymoon. The staff was exceptionally friendly.
We had a delicious meal at The Pitcher Inn! We ordered the pork and the ribeye. Both were amazing! And the bread it great!
Everything was perfect- especially the service
Nice quiet restaurant, the food is excellent, and so is the service. Very personable. Good value for money also.
Wonderful service & ambience. I don’t mind spending good money on delicious food, but this was average at best. A bit too pricey for what was offered. Service was outstanding, however.
