A wonderful restaurant with a unique rooftop terrace with stunning views of Santo Domingo. The food is varied, delicious and beautifully prepared and presented. Staff are young and very attentive.

Be aware, the menu at the time that we went was not accurate to the items my partner and I desired to be eat that night.

Excelente comida, excepto por el ceviche, no nos gustó mucho. Nos dieron la mesa más abandonada del lugar, casi al lado de la caja. Muy poca iluminación. Cuando pedimos un vaso con agua, nos llevaron una botella de esas ridículas de agua fancy. Que sigue siendo agua, pero cara por la botella.

Food was not great, service was even worse. I would not go back.

From entry through dessert, the restaurant ambiance and staff were lovely. My dishes were beautifully presented and the music and lighting were delightful!

Ordered Cheese Soup, Fish of the Day, and a dessert. Overall food seemed just bland, without the bold flavors usual in Oaxaca.
The fish was correctly accompanied with a fork and fish knife; however, the fish was served in a deep soup bowl. When my waiter saw how awkward it was to eat, he quickly brought me a spoon. This particular dish should be served in a soup plate, or the bean broth and mole verde could be a little thicker and the meal served on a regular plate.
As a solo diner, I enjoy a glass of wine but was disappointed the wine list didn’t offer any choices for single glasses.

It’s all about the terrace view. The building is an old casona; truly special in a lovely neighborhood. The service is also very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The food was disappointing based on its ranking to be among the “best of the city.” The background music was too disco mix weird and loud. The presentation of the dishes is beautiful to look but wasn’t wowed by any of the tastes. Many were on the sweat side and nothing stood out as truly special for the reputation. Go if you want a lovely place and service; not for exquisite food.

L’emplacement est remarquable. Immense, plusieurs terasses font face à Santo Domingo. Carte courte et bien montée. Service adéquat.

The service was not the best and the food good. The place has a very nice view on the terrace but they seam that were not willing to let us go upstairs and when We went up It was empty. Next time in Oaxaca I'll give it a second chance.

The best meal I've had so far in Oaxaca. Outstanding. I highly recommend the pork tiradito and pulpo a la talla. Amazing view of the city.

La comida fue muy deliciosa, lo recomiendo cuando visiten Oaxaca. Las medidas de sanidad Covid muy bien ejecutadas.

El servicio si me dejo mucho que desear, el mesero claramente esta poco preparado para un servicio minico, mucho menos para Pitiona. Los alimentos te hacen olvidar este detalle.

Si quieren mejores reviews o ranking, el servicio debe MEJORAR enormemente. El Mesero amable, pero claro desconocimiento básico de atención a cliente, hasta desconocimiento de como abrir una botella de vino. Habia poca gente, y aun asi las bebidas fueron ofrecidas casi despues de 15 minutos o largos periodos de desatención. No conocia muy bien los platillos como para refomendarlos.

We ordered two dishes. Pulpo tacos were very rubbery and the pork mole dish although delicious was luke warm. The upstairs seating is beautiful at night, I highly recommend getting a table there.

La verdad un muy buen lugar, la vista de la terraza es expectacular, el ambiente super, poco ruido , los platillos interesantes y sobre todo un excelente servicio. Jorge nuestro mesero nos dio un tour historico por la gastronomia local y una cátedra sobre mezcales super interesante y todo desde la comodidad de nuestra mesa. Super recomendable.

Horrible, chewy ceviche. Told the waiter, heard nothing more about it, but was still charged for it.

Had the octopus entree. Cooked poorly so was chewy as well.

Crab tostadas were satisfactory, but unfortunately, not good enough to overpower the bad texture of the other dishes.

Won’t be back. Ever.

The atmosphere and concept is all there. The drinks and starters are something I would come back for. This was our second time coming to eat entrees on the rooftop seating and we were very disappointed.

There was a plastic wrapper in one of our entree dishes. The server seemed like he couldn't even both explaining the dishes to us. We ordered the same cocktail as another table and noticed that their cocktail got a flaming presentation that ours didn't, we even asked to confirm it was the same cocktail. The rest of the entrees were also underwhelming. Overall the experience left me disappointed in the food and service.

I'd recommend sticking to the starters and trying a cocktail.

La comida es buena pero existían mayores expectativas para una “cocina de autor” por lo que le otorgo 3/5 estrellas.
El servicio en un principio fue muy atento y explicaban a detalle los platillos pero tras culminar la cena los meseros tardaron mucho en recoger los platos vacíos (aprox. 15 min) y olvidaron entregar un mezcal que ordenamos al final. Tuvimos que cancelarlo tras la espera y pagar la cuenta.

De verdad uno de los peores servicios en todo Oaxaca. Lento, tuvimos que pedir las cosas MIL veces para que las trajeran, pedimos un perchero que JAMAS llego. Un vaso de agua sucio. Fatal. La comida rica pero el servicio de verdad deja MUCHISIMO que desear.

Riquísimo e innovador y súper recomendable.

The place is awesome, we loved the view of the terrace. At the moment we came at Pitiona, the host told us that we had one and a have hour to stay at the restaurant, that was a little rude and disrespectful, however the waiter was very nice and we never felt that pressure again.
The lechón tacos were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. We will visit again this place, hopefully the host will not treat us like she did.
