Pizzeria Via Mercanti - Elm
The food was very yummy! Only negative was that due to the busy-ness during the holiday season and all the group parties, extra tables were put in and it made it a very tight fit. but the food outshone that slight discomfort.
Always great food but the noise level was extremely high with the crowd and music
Service was terrible - we had to ask multiple times for items. We had to ask for bread after the table beside us were given some. We had to ask for parmesan cheese as we both ordered pasta. We were never asked if we wanted tea/coffee or dessert. We had to ask for the bill three times (we had a show to attend so it was important to leave on time). The food was just mediocre. This is not a place I would go back to even though it is super convenient to my workplace.
Loved the pizza! It definitely is how a pizza should be! Will be coming here again and again for sure!
food was delicious and ambiance was inviting. only reason not giving it 5 stars is we felt rushed since a waiter was coming to us too often in hopes we would leave soon
Food was ok. Wait time was also not too long. However, the major issue was one of the dishes (pasta) had a big piece of plastic in it, that had clearly fallen in while it was being prepared. The wait staff simple took it away and offered a coffee as an apology. Felt like a bit more could have been done here.
Was a last minute choice for dinner based on it was available. Off on a side street this busy spot is rightfully a neighbourhood favourite. It was busy and a bit noisy. We sat immediately. Service was a bit bumpy but reminded me of service in Italy so I guess a bit authentic that way too. Food was great. We had buffalo mozzarella, shared a pizza and fried cheese to start. Dinner was lasagna, seafood pasta special, bolognese and a tomato chicken pasta. All were really good. Prices were very fair for portions and quailty. A great option for a casual night out for really good Italian. Will definitely be back.
Great place, great vibe, great service, authentic Italian pizza, will go back any day
Food tasted great. Service was not good.
No free refills on soda (not expected).
Got 1 refill, 12oz glass at most.
Cost me $6 for a Diet Coke.
A good place with à pretty manager..
We like very much
I didn't feel the love in the food. I had the pizza and the crust on the edge was good, but the center of the pizza was soggy and didn't hold it's shape when it was picked up. The topping on the pizza we're bland and missed that umami flavour and proper seasoning from elements such as Parmesan cheese or sea salt.
Went there for a group lunch. The food was nice but the service was not. Our server was gruff and not friendly, and after we finished and they packed up our leftovers they never came back to our table. We had to eventually get their attention so that we could pay our bills.
very good thin crust pizza in a nice setting.
beer and wine selextion could be improved
Pizza was authentic and had sufficient toppings. The cook on the pizza was also very good. Service was okay but not outstanding. Would recommend the pizza!
Great service with friendly staff and authentic pizza.
Great calzone - huge portion. It is a lovely place but almost too popular - very very noisy. Service was efficient but not that friendly
Dining at Via Mercanti was a very nice experience. The quality/price ratio is definitively unbeatable.
Best Neapolitan pizza I have eaten in all of North America, light dough and savory toppings
Have been there many times, my favourite place, excellent foor and great value.
