Beautiful restaurant, very nice staff.
Celebrating Living by Learning
Food was great and the outdoor seating is very attractive.
I really liked the atmosphere at this place. It was very cute and cozy with trees and lights. The waitress was warm and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice romantic and quiet night
The staff is always wonderful and the food is delicious. No tipping since prices include gratuity. There’s heaters outside but it’s still cold so bring a jacket.
We were looking for a place that was open and inviting.
We found it. Working on campus I was unaware of this place. I will be back soon.
So good. We will be back soon!
Relaxed graciously informal outdoor setting, trees, landscaping.
Terrific Burgers and Reggiano fries. Staff gracious and very patient.
A long, leisurely lunch in a restaurant part of an excellent hotel.
Excellent spacing, sanitation practices. Lovely ambiance on large outside patio under olive trees. Cocktails were perfect. Food delicious. Only criticism is service is slow so come to relax and heaters are attractive but inefficient so bring a warm jacket or coat. A nice oasis on UCLA campus at the Luskin Conference Center and Hotel.
Everything was great. Pleasantly surprised. Would go there again.
Love the restaurant and the food. All round great value. One thing that would be helpful would be Opentable letting people know that Plateia can only seat 6 people to a table.
One of the only restaurants I feel comfortable dining at during COVID. Temperature check at front door, masks required upon entry, PPE on all staff, no menus, just scan a code to see menu on your phone. Great ambiance on the outside patio at this UCLA restaurant. Very nice Mediterranean style cuisine.
Great place to go for a quiet meal on-campus (outdoors).
Plateia never disappoints. The outdoor patio setting under the olive trees is just lovely. The food is incredible, especially the deserts. This is definately a great place to eat and relax.
Beautiful food, excellent service, and we felt very safe.
Delicious, top-quality food. Had the Columbia River salmon burger. Have had the steelhead trout another time. Terrific. Beautiful environment, too, surrounded by a lovely garden of cacti and succulents.
This is a little gem in the middle of UCLA campus! After leading a small group 6 around the sculpture garden, we arrived at Plateia with our table outside "reserved" with umbrella shades well placed. Everything was very much COVID sensitive: masks, shields, gloves, hand sanitizer, distanced tables....so reassuring! But please let me commend the alfresco dining patio as beautiful, drought sensitive plants. Food and service is excellent, for carnivores as well as vegans.
It was a wonderful evening, the service was very relaxing, the food was excellent. We had a good time!
Love this restaurant
Great spot. Kind of a find, since it’s on campus.
Great place, nice staff, and fantastic food. Will recommend and will go there again.
Wonderful food, service, and ambience.
It's a great place to meet people, with an excellent bar and lots of areas where to sit and chat.
The restaurant is good and the service as well. I like the salads and the main dishes. Once in a while there is something that is a bit of a stretch, not unusual for chefs in the US who love to invent even what should not be reinvented, like "Cacio e pepe" It's not advisable to mess with the original recipe by adding ingredients that do not fit just to make it a little different. It doesn't work. "Pecorino Restaurant" does a better job with that dish (but not with others - they have no idea of how to make "puntarelle").
The food was pretty good but the cocktails were quite small for the price. Service was slow but friendly so don’t come here if you’re in a rush
Very nice for a quiet breakfast. Great food I would highly recommend.
Very enjoyable. Service exceptional and prompt. Look forward to my next visit.
Enjoyed a mid-week luncheon at Plateia. The menu is nicely eclectic and features sustainable fare. It also changes so there is always something new to try. The service has come along way from when it first opened. Still, no matter if I have reservations or not, the greeters always seem pained to find my table. When I requested outdoor seating on line, it seemed available but when I and my guests arrived, it was reserved for a large party. We obliged and ate inside but never saw the party. After the meal, I asked the person taking my plate for a coffee. Again, the pained look followed by, oh, okay I can do that. I guess I'm only supposed to ask MY table's server. I wish it felt more like a genuinely welcoming atmosphere but somehow despite how good the food is I always leave with a sour taste in my mouth.
So a bit of a surprise here. Was recommended by one of of wine group members. A bit out of the way up on the UCLA campus and parking quite expensive. Personally I parked down in the village at a public lot for $5 plus EV car charging. But, surprisingly good food. One of us had the scallops dish. Quite good although the sauce even being good a bit sweet. For me forget the impossible burger. Nyet!! Definitely get the artichoke sun dried pesto pizza. Excellent!!!
I feel very bad that the servers can’t take tips. They should change that policy immediately. Our server was a gem! She took an old bottle of Bordeaux with an old cork and was able to extract so we could enjoy. Kudos to her!!
Overall a pleasant surprise.
Delicious food! Wonderful service and ambiance! My friends and I enjoyed a lovely lunch. Will definitely be back!
The food was about the same level as CPK-CA Pizza Kitchen only much more expensive. The building was beautiful but over lit. Even my daughter said Mom why are the lights so bright. I marked the noise level as low but only three other tables were filled so that is probably why. The wait staff dropped the plates and ran without asking Is everything OK ? Can I get you anything else? It was difficult to find the parking. Two people stood under an umbrella but no valet is available. They pointed to underground parking entrance that had no visible sign. Unfortunately I would not recommend Plateia.
The food was delicious and the environment is a great one for meetings and social gatherings. Our server was not very attentive though, he took a while to take our order (after we weren't initially ready) and he took a very long time to bring our check at the end of the meal.
Very caring staff but not the place to eat if you’re in a rush.
The crusted salmon and baked Alaska was fabulous. See ya next week!
Great pre-game eatery. Love the hamburger and fries. Impossible burger is great two though I’m not much for relish on it. Good beer selection. Plan to go again tomorrow.
Judy, Thank you so much for your review. It is wonderful hearing back from guests who enjoy and appreciate our commitment to food and service. Thanks, Plateia LCC UCLA
I have enjoyed Plateia Restaurant many times over the past few years. Since I stay at the Luskin for all my visits to UCLA, I have had the opportunity to dine at Plateia for every type of meal, including breakfast, brunch, lunch, appetizers, and dinner. I've enjoyed it every time! The menu offers a nice selection, and the food never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh and delicious, and the options are not overpriced. The service has always been excellent as well. Highly recommend.
Despite a packed reservation list, we were seated on a timely basis and our reservation honored. Our waitress was friendly, smart, and aimed to please. The food was delicious (from the game day menu). Everything came promptly and servers were very attentive. We made it to the UCLA USC game with much time to spare. There was no stress to rush ! Thank you Plateia!
Excellent choice if you need to be on campus. No tipping permitted. Valet parking, but if you are at UCLA for an event at Pauley, for example, park in lot 8. Excellent service.
A few dings. Unfortunately, every time the doors in the dining section open, a blast of cold wind goes through. Ask the folks at engineering across Westwood Blvd. how to design around this.
We eat here often. I find the menu limited, and I think every single time I show up the soup of the day is butternut squash.
