Poppies Beachside

The whole experience was lovely. The service was excellent. It was extra special having music- he was terrific. The steaks and lamb rump were excellent. The mango coconut curry was lacking sauce and didn’t have a strong flavour. The seafood pasta was a bit bland once again lacking flavour. A few meals could have done with a few vegetables just to complete the meal. The pork belly was lovely and full of flavour.
However, we all enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back. Thanks for a great night.

This was our 2nd visit here and we loved it again.
Beautiful spot to relax, enjoy coffee and a bite to eat. Staff are friendly & attentive . Food is great with a good selection on the Breakfast menu. Our only negative was our coffee order was slow again but it is amazingly good when it arrives, a local coffee I believe . Definitely be back 😊

Twice cooked pork was too tough to cut, let alone eat. Entree prawns were also tough & overcooked. Staff were young & probably still learning, but lovely. We were looked after at the end by a lovely more experienced staff member. Very limited menu. I will give it another go when they’ve had more experience. Only recently opened I believe.

The restaurant was having a few teething problems but staff are wonderful, though new staff needs a bit of training up but have the most important qualities I.e. smile, friendly and helpful as possible. Wines could be better and more fresh veggies with the main courses was the view of a few at our table. I had lamb rump which was delicious.

Food is outstanding. Ambience is good, lighting is a little bright. Service is friendly but not professional as yet. One professional wait staff (lady that used to work at the resort) with all of the others being rookies.

This is a newly fitted out restaurant and is beachy and casual in arrangement as fits a surf club

The staff are friendly but still learning their trade. Therefore service for price is blow par. They could not when asked say what is in the dishes or served with the meals.

The food was a total mixed bag in quality.
The crab and the fish were fine. The lamb (x 2) chewy and therefore poorly cooked and the pork belly likewise. This is standard restaurant fare and should be straight forward for most chefs

They need to look closely at their menu and indicate what sides will be offered for each meal or if sides need to be ordered separately

For $30 meals they will need to lift their game. There is a lot of competition in Yeppoon that delivers far above this for the price.

We will wait 6-8 weeks and try again. Perhaps all this will be overcome.
