Friendly staff, good drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere!
Wonderful fun speakeasy. Only gave a 1 on food because they made me put something and they don’t serve food. Drinks were great, service wonderful, can’t wait to take some friends back!!
Service was great we arrived early and was able to be seated. The menu could use some more variety but the ambience and room set up more than made up for that. Our overall experience was great!
We arrived slightly before our reservation time, but they were able to seat us immediately! When we arrived there were maybe 5 other guests. We got wonderful drinks right away, and the setting is gorgeous! By the time the place was more full, we never got any service again. They only had one bartender serving the entire place. Would have loved to sit there all evening and try more cocktails, but 1.5hrs after our one and only drink we had to go to the bar and ask for our check because the bartender/waiter never came back after the first round. Don't go until they have more servers.
The PS Speakeasy was the greatest experience! It felt very authentic and like you stepped away from the real world for a little bit
Classic "speakeasy". Dimly lit and cozy environment, with overpriced craft cocktails and relaxing music. Good spot to go grab a drink.
Great drinks and atmosphere!
We booked our reservation for after dinner on our anniversary night out. We where expecting a cool speak easy vibe with the proper atmosphere to end the night in.
We made the reservations thinking man this should be busy since not many times where available. When we arrived you enter through an unmarked door which was cool. Then you head down stairs and that’s where the disappointment began.
It was a nice bar with a great set up for seating. But there was no vibe. There where only a few tables full. The lights where on too bright. The bartender was also the only waitress which was fine because there where only 4 tables full. We only had one drink and where gone.
We where hoping this was like Manifesto out favorite bar but it was just a boring wannabe hotel bar in the basement.
I did not eat here. Drinks were good. A good & unique experience. Bartender has amazing service.
Loved every bit of this experience. Incredible beverages, soothing and upscale environment. Would go back in a heartbeat!
The drinks at PS are AMAZING! I tried six different ones and they are smooth and unique! Limited food options when I visited but definitely a place to go to enjoy drinks and the vibe. Worth it.
Stopped in for a drink before dinner. Great place. Atmosphere was fun. Drinks were good. Didn't get food. Will go back.
Nice setting, but the table behind us were very loud over the low playing music. It took a while for a server to come greet. The two drinks (house specialty and a neat bourbon) on their menu that we wanted were not available and the server did not even attempt to offer any recommendations. That resulted in us leaving and going to another venue.
Delicious cocktails and excellent service!
This was our second visit to P.S. Speakeasy. The ambiance is great, the drinks are good (especially the Old Fashioned), although overpriced. I absolutely hate checking in here. There is no clear place or directions to do this (like could maybe a cheap sign could fix this problem?). You walk in to the lobby of the hotel. The people working the lobby refuse to acknowledge your presence. I get it. It’s not your gig. But a simple “someone will be with you in a moment” seems appropriate. (Even though the guy was working on his computer like he was Air Traffic Control and could not glance up in fear of causing a major catastrophe.) The door was open to the bar, so we were just like screw it, let’s go down. All of a sudden, we’re not invisible, anymore! Some small miracle. The invisibility cloak was raised. He said “can I help you?” Un-freaking-believable.
We were disappointed that the cocktails at a speakeasy were pre batched and they were out of some of them. Couldn’t really tell they had alcohol in them, which I didn’t expect for $15 each
It was too loud, we couldn’t hear each other and it was difficult to talk and have a conversation. Pretty disappointing
Medical school graduation
This is probably one of the nicer speakeasies in kc but their drink variety is pretty slim . They only have the basics. Don’t except too get to fancy of a drink there . Other than that if you enjoy a simple drink it’s one of the best places to go
We did not have any food. The drinks were amazing! There was a large group that was very loud - and they did not have to be loud there were only two couples and the group. Experience would have been better if it were softer. Fun concept!
Loud and understaffed, the servers were trying but the drinks were not especially good. Likely not coming back
Great bartender and unique drinks!
Awesome little bar with AMAZING drinks and OUTSTANDING service! I highly recommend it. Ensure you make reservations in advance.
We weren’t greeted for awhile. Our drink order was wrong. There was a group of people over ten with tables pushed together that completely ruined the ambience and experience for us. I was so excited to go here and left incredibly disappointed. Wasn’t worth the money spent, and we had planned to spend more! But the service was very slow (one bartender serving the establishment solo on a Saturday night) and the anticipated mood was ruined by a large party. Manifesto is much better at providing the speakeasy ambience and service is impeccable.
Great vibe and great experience.
I had just gotten engaged earlier in the day and this was the perfect place to end the night with my new fiancé!
Drinks were horrible, service was non existent. Very boring. We were so excited to check out the speakeasy but left after ordering one drink. Don’t waste your time!
Great environment. Updated to slightly modern but still a historical feeling. Awesome service. The lead bartender Larry was very accommodating and offered to serve off menu drinks.
Drinks were weak, watery, and nearly tasteless. Service was marginal with the advice and personality of a piece of cardboard. Compared to other Speakeasys downtown this ranks low. This could be a great spot with an exceptional Staff.
Amazing ambiance with a great drink menu. Service was amazing as well.
Ambiance was amazing, Service was great, Drinks were good - but pricey. Really would have liked to have seen some lower priced wines on the wine list.
Bartender wouldn’t sell me a Topo Chico Water unless I was a Guest at the hotel which was the dumbest thing EVER. No explanation whatsoever just informed me in a matter of fact, flat, borderline rude way that she couldn’t sell it to me unless I were purchasing it as a hotel guest. We all thought that was outrageous.
We did not eat food so I gave average rating for this category. The venue was nice but I didn’t get the speakeasy feel. It was a little too “fancy” for me. I was looking for a more authentic venue, maybe something similar to Manifesto below the Rieger Hotel. Overall, it was a good experience and service was great.
Impatient waitress and we felt rushed. Paid premium price for drinks and left feeling robbed of our time and money.
It was my anniversary, my wife and I had a great time and the staff made it feel very special defiantly recommend
This was a great atmosphere and cocktails were delicious. I can’t wait to go back. Perfect place to relax with friends.
Over 30 bucks for 2 drinks and they were not good!
Enjoyed our evening
My husband and I had a wonderful time. Was not expecting this hidden gem when we booked a room at the Hotel Phillips. The next time we are in KC, I’ll be making reservations again at P.S. Speakeasy.
