They have made the best of COVID restrictions, and their outdoor seating was cozy, warm, and still felt high end, despite being under a tent in the parking lot. Well done! Oh, and food was of course amazing as always
Great food and service. Happy to see that Purple is still open in this challenging time. The tent out side is not very warm so you need to dress for this and bring blankets. It will be great if the tent would be better warmed but I would come again and I fully understand the limitations.
Loved that they have set up outside dinning with heaters since it is so cold out this time of year. You must try the Lobster Mac and Cheese. To die for. Love it.
The only downsides:
Eating outside, but that’s our idiot governor’s fault, not Purple’s.
The Brussels sprouts that came with the salmon weren’t cooked. I’m okay with eating them raw, but was hoping for more of a toasted/crispy texture.
The desserts were just okay. Kind of dry and cold and surprisingly miniature. We’d hoped for something more normal and warm, since we had to dine outside.
Other than that, it was a wonderful experience, and we feel terribly for all restaurants that have to make adjustments during this difficult time. Happy to support where we can!
Excellent service and outdoor seating options with heaters.
I had been here before but it was my husband’s first time. Because of the location there were a ton of people walking around. Parking is terrible and it wasn’t clear where the overflow planking lot was located. When we arrived, we had to option of sitting inside or outside. Due to weather we sat inside. Our table was located very close to the open door which caused it to be SUPER cold. It was so cold Ed had to wrap our coats around our legs. The coldness made it ver unpleasant.
Outside of this though the food and drinks were amazing. Our server was also great.
Excellent wine list, extraordinary pasta, and exceptional service.
The baked brie is amazing, absolute perfection. The crackers it is served with are one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten; this is a must have! I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, it was really good.
We were seated immediately in a cozy table by the fire ( it was cold out so we were very grateful). Covid precautions were clearly in place without any fuss. Our server was FABULOUS! The food was divine, and our wine flights enhanced the chicken and pork dishes we chose, and added to the ambience. A perfect outing for our anniversary. Thank you!
We knew the situation going in with Covid. Purple totally respects it with outdoor seating and garage doors and windows open. Megan was outstanding as usual.
Wonderful dinner and evening! Everything we had to eat and drink was amazing. Only negative was due to COVID we had to sit outside and it was 35 degrees out. The outdoor heaters weren’t warm enough.
Our first experience with Purple was pleasant but not outstanding. These crazy times notwithstanding it could have better. Our table was ready when we arrived. The seating area was nice in the back by a wine rack wall. Our server was very pleasant however the overall service was slow for appetizer (Brie cheese), dinner, wine and desert. It was busy at the time but it still seemed too long and we're patient people. The food was generally pretty good. The Brie cheese was very good. My wife had the Halibut Tempura which looked good but the accompanying sauce was a mixture of something she & another person said was too spicy and not complimentary to the fish. My Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf was ok but a little dry and not very flavorful. The small potato's that came with it were EXCELLENT. We might go back sometime but not in a hurry.
Service was superb! Food was delicious per the usual.
Special was a bit over done and cold in parts when served. We didn’t mention anything to our server. Bread needs to be changed out. No flavor and super dry. Not the purple that I remember.
Service was the highlight and made for a fun night.
Food was delicious! Hostess at the front desk was amazing and even was nice enough to move our reservation up early by 45 minutes when we arrived super early. However our waitress was very rude from the moment we sat down. After taking our drink and food orders we did not see her for almost an hour. We had to finally ask the hostess at the front if she could check on our order. In which she did and food came out less than 5 minutes later at which we finally saw our waitress. Was very disappointing as I’ve been to this location a few times and always had such a great experience.
Incredible wine selection and the food is consistently interesting and delicious. Our server was superb.
Great food and great service! I really appreciated the heaters outside as well.
Just a nice sunny Saturday afternoon lunch with my wife
Our servers were wonderful
leaving the door open was cold but with COVID expected, you need to let people know to wear outdoor clothes when dining inside
Parking seems to be a issue. There are so many places to eat its hard to avoid. My girlfriend and I were seated and our sever was spot on with great knowledge of the menu and wine selections. Food was really good and my girlfriend said it was "amazing ". I wish I would've taken a few pics.
It was very clean and the outdoor tables were spaced well apart. It was also warm enough
even though we ate outside. Always love their food. My favorites are the Purple Chopped and the baked Brie.
Love the food at Purple. Keep going back for brunch and the veggie scramble, but the Impossible Burger is cooked the best anywhere!
Brunch was delicious, the service was great, and all of the tables were well distanced and came equipped with hand sanitizer. Hope to return again soon!
Purple Cafe is our go to when wine tasting in Woodinville. Pre Covid, it was exciting and bustling with activity. Post Covid, it’s still exciting whether you eat inside or out, and the food is always top notch.
We have always had great, knowledgeable servers, who are ready to jump in with an inside scoop, or wine pairing.
Love being in the Purple Cafe groove, and will dine there the next time we are in Woodinville.
You should too!
Our server was amazing! Very considerate and accommodating, especially of our five-year old.
Server wasn’t helpful with questions regarding menu items. Seemed to be quoting a predetermined response when asked to explain details of menu items. Ended up sending back a main course because of lack of details when asked questions previously. It was like grinding teeth to get answers about items on the menu.
Food was delicious! Service was perfect. We dined inside which wasn’t too loud. Would go back again!
Was a little chilly sitting outside, not many outdoor heaters.
This Purple location has a nice quiet feel to it. It's located in the wine district in Woodinville, which has a great all around vibe.
I always enjoy visiting the Purple Cafe. The staff, food, and ambience are all terrific.
The food was really bland, I think people go for the impressive wine selection.
We sat in the tent outdoors which was very loud. There was a table of very loud drunk people next to us which made it difficult to even have a conversation. Other than than that the food and service were great.
I've been to Purple Cafe several times but not at this location; this experience was not as favorable as those that brought me in this time. The gorgonzola stuffed dates were overpriced for their size on the plate. The entrees were tasty; I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, a season appropriate comfort food. Outdoor dining was a key requirement in our dining location. I was disappointed and concerned to be seated in a vinyl tent, open on 2 sides. Gratefully, we were seated fairly near the opening.
We don't go out much for 2020 reasons, but came to Purple for my birthday. They have an awesome outdoor dining setup, and I appreciated the little hand sanitizers on the table. A+ I might dare to go out again!
I went a few weeks ago on a beautiful day, enjoyed sitting outside and had amazing service. Going back yesterday to celebrate my birthday with my family was a different experience.
We had a reservation for the 11am opening and despite being there a few minutes prior to anyone else, we were seated after others when they did decide to seat people.
It was raining and overcast so thankfully we still managed to get a table near a heater but I don’t know what it will be like in the tent without heaters nearby.
I ordered the same meal I had last month (Farmers Lunch) and it seemed to come with less food on the board with the bread as a whole piece instead of sliced as it was before. Foods still tasted good too. Service was decent but less attentive than before.
Over all, the experience wasn’t as seamless or nearly as great as the last time and maybe on your birthday you expect special but this was not. It wasn’t bad either but when being strategic about even going out to restaurants right now it will make me second guess a visit back during the fall and winter.
Parking is hard to get but once seated the food and service is really good. The outdoor patio environment can get a little loud as long as you don’t mind it.
Great COVID social distancing. Restricting capacity which helped build confidence!
Food was fresh, but a little slow to arrive. A bit pricey for a small brunch, especially a bacon/egg sandwich with small salad. My friend enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries!
Always have a good time at this romantic dinner spot.
