this remains the best option for sushi and asian non fish dishes in Greenville

Waited at the door almost 20 minutes past the time of our reservation and never got seated. Another couple walked out and told us they waited 45 minutes once they were seated and had never even gotten menus. We left. The food looked good so we may come back again. But for a first experience it was not good.

The sushi and the lobster/crab bisque w/miso was amazing. Went on Valentines Day, which probably was a bad idea for the first visit, but even with a few snafus in the service the experience was great. Did not get the right Sake we had ordered, was served water in styrofoam despite others having glasses, and never received some of the items we requested ie soy sauce, but don't let that stop you from going. I think it was just because they were at capacity for the romantic holiday. Will definitely be going again.

Such a wonderful place to just have a conversation with your dinner mate. That's rare in most of the Bistro-type ambience restaurants where you can't hear a thing. Staff is very friendly and accomodating.
Great house salad with ginger dressing and excellent menu with lots of options. Love it!

We always enjoy Purple Bistro. The food is delicious, service is good and prices are reasonable.

I reserved a table online but when I got there the doors were locked during normal operating hours. This left me with no time to get lunch during my busy day. I was outraged especially since I’ve been here before and loved their sushi.

The best Sushi in Greenville, in my opinion. Always top notch and fresh!

My only critique would be the cramped area where those waiting for their table stand.
But literally, that's it. The quality of service and food was incredible.

Really enjoyed the food. Service was pretty stressed out and appeared under-staffed, but they managed a good job under the circumstances.

We wanted to try both an entree and sushi. There was some confusion between us and the server regarding the “specials” on the board outside. We finally ordered one of those and was charged $3 more than on the board, no free saki as the board indicated and the sushi was, well, less than expected at $11/roll (prices not on menu, had to look up on line). Never asked if we wanted an additional cocktail. We left after dinner and went elsewhere. Disappointed as this place was recommended to us.

Very nice evening at the Purple International Bistro. I had the tuna and it was excellent. I also had the Chrashi and it was excellent. Great service, great people. I would recommend.

Family gathering

Family celebrating Christmas together! Our family has enjoyed Sushi for over 40 years, mainly on the west coast but in Japan also. We agree that Purple has the best Sushi!!

Service was timely and server very pleasant. Nice quiet atmosphere and food very fresh.

Mediocre at best, just expected better quality fresher food. Slow service.

Someone had recommended Purple as a great place to get sushi. So we tried it out and we were not disappointed. Our server was knowledgeable and very pleasant. She took time to converse with us. Overall, experience was memorable.

After an hour of waiting for anything to be brought to our table, I had to go approach staff to make sure they knew we wanted our appetizers to be brought before our sushi. My friend was brought cold miso soup and our appetizers took another 10 mins. The waitress then told us that they had been making all the to go orders before ours and she had to asks them to make our food! When our food finally arrived the waitress passed a plate across the table, which spilled all over my friend’s lap with the sushi rolls demolished and crab everywhere. The sushi chef came to see and actually laughed at my friend. My friend wasn’t able to eat a single piece, wasn’t brought a replacement and had to pay for the dropped food. Customer service clearly not a priority here. There are way better places for sushi in Greenville.

Sat at the sushi bar and let the chef prepare for me his choice. Very nice and fresh sashimi and rolls. Offered a complimentary sake.

Purple is one of our very favorite sushi restaurants. We try new items every time we go and have never been disappointed. Save room for dessert - yummy!!!

Glad we had reservations! It filled up fast and there was a private party upstairs which might explain the hang up in service especially towards the end of our meal.

We haven't been to Purple in a while so we went Saturday and had a great time we were seated upstairs and it is impressive how many times the server goes up and down the stairs.
