R Bistro & Pastry
Wonderful in every way
Wonderful meal service was great food was wonderful!
Fantastic food, great service. We were going to be about 8 minutes past our reservation ... which was their very last seating time. I called to ask if that would be ok and they alerted the kitchen that we were coming. Shrimp and grits was amazing. The staff was so friendly and engaging. Loved it!!
This was some of the most delicious food I've ever had. The crawfish gravy and biscuits were heavenly. I went twice within 3 days because they were so good. The bread that came with dinner was amazing.
It's a small restaurant- if you don't like noise and crowds, I suggest going at during week days. Good, prompt, friendly service.
Just a fabulous unique little spot with fabulous unique BIG magic. Highly recommend for a casual lunch or dinner and also for any special occasion. The food is fabulous.
Everything was wonderful as usual!
Excellent food and service. I will be returning again.
We were in Fairhope for a funeral and decided to revisit R Bistro since we had such a wonderful experience there previously. A perfect place to reflect on our deceased friend who had taken us there 2 years ago. Great food, service (Jacob), and ambience!
Food and service were excellent and was a very nice evening.
Very disappointed. I had tried to resolve my concerns with the manager but she did not get back to
It took 75 minutes to get our food ( 6 people) and slow slow slow on the appetizer, drink refills, and bill) over 2 hours in the restaurant.
Two of the 6 entrees were cold and the bun and meat on the sliders was overheated.
We are visiting Fairhope from NC. The R Bistro came highly recommended by our local friends. We actually came in early for a drink and were treated royally from Josh at the bar and our server for our entire experience. We had the grouper special, the fried oysters over risotto and the blue crab appetizer, all delicious. But the bread pudding was the best part of the meal. The restaurant was full and busy but we weren’t rushed. A fine evening!
My meal had do much salt on it that is was like I were to eat a salt slick. I sure it was off for such a nice establishment. I sent it back and the did the correct thing and did not charge me. Watress was OK. She was busy and blew my table off until we had to track her down. Overall a so so experience. Been to better and been to worse.
Had the beef stroganoff and the gumbo...excellent...and service was as expected...excellent.
Have been to r Bistro many times..always came away happy..but this time was not good..I suspect they were overwhelmed due to Mardi Gras parade...the service was terrible...food was not what we ordered...the whole place just seemed confused and in disarray...we had reservations and we wi return...just not n a busy night.
Small, intimate restaurant- perfect for celebrating pour anniversary. Food and service was excellent as usual.
One of my favorite places to eat in Fairhope, R Bistro is always delicious. My latest choice is the Nicoise Salad with seared tuna, and on my last visit, I celebrated a birthday with a chocolate roulade for dessert. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
On of My favorite restaurants on the Eastern Shore . In Fairhope. Great menu, wine list and Bar
Always a great meal and service. One of local favorites!!
The acoustics are very poor, main dining room is small, cramped and very noisy. We had difficulty carrying on a conversation with our table and difficulty communicating with our waitress. The fresh bread is delicious! The barbecue shrimp is very salty .
Food was amazing! Entrees and dessert were all fantastic! Our server was also great.
The food is beyond fabulous, the service outstanding and the owners make you feel like family!
Met special friend and had a great experience
We started off with the crab claw appetizer. They were small but tasty. My glass of wine was $15! I'm glad I liked it. My son enjoyed his gumbo and crawfish gravy over biscuits. My husband liked his shrimp and grits but was disappointed that the grits were not creamy. It was a fried grits cake served along side the shrimp in the sauce. I loved my artichoke salad. I would go back just for that and I am not one to rave about a salad. I ordered the duck. The duck leg was fall off the bone tender and delicious. The collards and cubed roasted root vegetables that came with it were also a wonderful compliment to the duck. All this came at a price that is above what I expect for fine dining in Fairhope.
Excellent ambiance, food and service. This is an excellent restaurant for special occasions or any occasion. Lots of attention to details and you don’t feel rushed to leave. Five stars
Phenomenal Food, atmosphere, and service!
My only negative comment that I could say, and I think this applies to all restaurants in Fairhope, is that it is a bit overpriced. But, for a special occasion, this is definitely a place we will go back to!
Awesome evening with my heart on date night.
Although we had a reservation for a high top, we elected to sit at the bar and were wonderfully entertained by Patrick thought our dinner. Food, crawfish beignets, french onion soup and seafood pasta were all outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Wonderful Shrimp & Grits!!!!
Was decorated like a NYC bistro! Beautiful. Food
It was the best experience we've ever had!! Everything was so good!! The service was excellent..
My French onion soup was very good and the grouper was very good, the Cobb salad was ordinary and the caramel cake disappointing, also I think $6.00 for two cups of coffee a bit ridiculous!
Great little spot in downtown Fairhope! Good food, quick service, cozy atmosphere!!!
Excellent food with solid service. The salmon dish was amazing. Has 2 soups that was definitely made from scratch and delicious.
Pastry is made in house.
Overall great meal.
Love this place......the food.....never disappoints. One of our favorite places to take out of town guests.
I’m presuming the waitress was a new hire. She was uncomfortable and awkward with simple tasks such as opening a bottle of wine, presenting the taste and then pouring. ....actually picking up the glass from the table to pour. Spilling a soup appetizer and so on. I’m less critical of her than I am of management of putting her in the situation where she would fail.
The food was good but not 4 or 5 star. The ambience was fine. The chef came to the table to inquire about food which was a nice touch.
Overall it could have been a 4 star with a appropriately trained waitress.
Food was good but not fine dining even though they pretend to be. French baguette should be served crunchy not saggy! Loved the scallops and house salad dressing. Had to return the horrible Chardonnay and ask for Pinot noir. Waiter was cute and friendly but not knowledgeable about beverages.
Tint, very cute restaurant in the heart of Fairhope. If you ask locals, EVERYONE tells you to go to R Bistro. Food was good, service was very good. My ONLY criticism is that the drinks are TINY. And, I mean teeny tiny. Other than that, it's worth it.
Love it- will go again
Sloppy duck...found everything to be over priced based on portion size.
