Everything about our dinner was excellent. But it is so refreshing to have something OTHER than Italian or American food here at the beach. I've been pining for an India restaurant here for years, and now we finally have one. And a great one!
Raas Indian Fusion. Wonderful food, staff and chef GG. We had Chili Olive Naan and Butter Naan bread, Tandoori Prawns, Cauliflower Manchurian, and Whole Tandoori Pomfret, a PomPom fish. Totally enjoyed our first experience with this wonderful cuisine. We could easily share everything we ordered.
I celebrated my 70th birthday at Raas, and it was a wonderful experience. It was our first visit to this restaurant, and we could not have been more pleased. The food and drinks were absolutely outstanding, and there are many options on the menu. The chef stopped by our table after the meal and obviously took much pride in the food served. We would definitely recommend and look forward to returning soon.
I have yet to not enjoy my meal at Raas. I brought my friends that were visiting, and both being vegan, I knew they would be pleased and have many meals to select from. While the menu shows limited vegan options, a quick conversation with super chef GG, he informed the large number of dishes he could make vegan, we were all set. By the way, there hasn’t been a visit where GG has t come to my table.
Personally I had the chicken tikka masala, something new off the menu for me. The flavors were perfect, and everything cooked to perfection.
If you’re in Lewes and love Indian food, you can’t miss this place!!
Lovely evening. Food was delicious, service was helpful and attentive. We love Raas! Highly recommend it for everyone!
The food was excellent, great flavors, nice portions and it is a beautiful restaurant. We sat on the porch and they had outdoor heaters making it comfortable, We will be back !!
SusanM: Glad to hear you had a memorable time during your recent dining experience at Raas. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
We were able to try a new entree tonight, Rockfish with ginger and basil. It is amazing! I hope they will be able to carry it more often! Kudos!
Theresa: Glad to hear that you were able to try the Rockfish and liked it. Stay tuned to Raas & Chef GG social for the latest updates to our menu.
We came down with friends for a shore getaway. RAAS was a amazing experience..the food was over the top delicious. Inquired about one of the dishes and the chef personally came out and spoke with us. We loved hearing his stories of how he creates many dishes on the menu. We will definitely return again.
Kdog: Glad to hear you had a memorable experience during your recent shore getaway. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Excellent food and service
One of the diners in our party has travelled to India on business at least 20 times, so we allowed him to choose the dishes for the 4 of us to share. They were unbelievable!! The chef came out to touch tables and we were glad to meet the creator of such authentic, gourmet Indian cuisine. Top notch! Blew us away.
Yvonne, Thank you for taking a couple of minutes to write the review about your group's recent experience at Raas. We are thrilled when our house guests leave us comments about their time inside the Victorian. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
This is an exceptional restaurant with a world class chef, in the heart of Lewes. The cuisine is truly amazing! The food is prepared from scratch, and having eaten Indian food in many large metropolitan cities, I can attest to the exemplary quality of these dishes.
We've dined here almost once a week since they opened. Chef GG and all staff go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience. If you have food sensitivities, they can adjust some of the foods to suit. The cocktails and wine selection are excellent, with many specialty drinks as well as traditional offerings.
There is outside dining on the porch and patio, and indoor dining with generous spacing between tables. If you want to eat indoors, go early during the week, even on weekends. You will not feel crowded at all.
Staff is always helpful, and Chef GG makes the rounds frequently to be certain everything is to your liking. He will also help with guidance if you are new to Indian cuisine, and need help with ordering. There are traditional dishes, and gourmet selections, such as the Duck Breast Korma and the amazing Pomfret fish. The Biryani is exceptional, as is the lamb shank Rogan Josh, and the deconstructed Pork Vindaloo. Everything on the menu is outstanding, and we've tried it all. If you aren't a fan of warm/hot spices, there are great options to experience the flavors without the heat. There are numerous vegetarian options as well. The home made desserts and ice cream are a fabulous way to finish the meal.
This is a lovely restored building in the heart of Lewes, and is a wonderful addition to the town. They are open for dining in and take out. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!
Theresa, Thank you for your sincere excitement each time we see you inside the Victorian. Seeing our house guests with smile before their food and after their food is what we strive for. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
This was our second time to eat at Raas. The service, food, and the outside seating was wonderful! We can’t wait to visit again! Highly recommended!!!
TeresaS, Thank You for your return visit to Raas and your kind words. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
First time there. A great dining experience. Food and service were both great. The chef
was very friendly, came out to say hello. Look forward to returning to try other items on the menu. Highly recommend it.
Thank you for taking a couple of minutes to write the review about your recent time at Raas. We are thrilled when our house guests leaves us comments about their time inside the Victorian. Keep following Raas on social as we are about to introduce some new items to our menu.
what a delight!!!! Raas is the one of the most professional run restaurants I''ve been in all over the world. From the beautifully dressed Mrs Gupta as hostess to her daughter acting as facilitator in the kitchen. And then there is GG, the chef and owner. as we were looking at the menu he approached and introduced himself, he offered advice and descriptions on the menu. this has never happened anywhere else . our dinner was marvelous. the naan the best this side of India. GG came by at the end to ask our opinions about dinner , again that was also a first. a good well priced wine lists in addition to the awesome cocktails we saw coming from the bar. Go there....Don't wait!!!
Disappointing food but very friendly service. Great cocktails and beer selection.
Every dish that we had was well thought out and exquisitely made. I'd stack Raas up against any of the top Indian restaurants in the DC area. An absolute must if you are visiting / staying anywhere in that area.
Such a wonderful meal. Order the butter fish to share. I promise you will not regret it. GG is a fabulous chef, and his wife is a wonderful hostess. Fantastic!
From start to finish, Raas (Indian fusion / pan Asian) was the best dining experience we've yet to have in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach areas, which are filled with excellent restaurants. The owners visited our table early and late during the 2+ hours we were seated. They were incredibly gracious and helpful. Our server was likewise fantastic and quite helpful in recommending dishes and drinks.
But most of all, it was the food that earned this restaurant an outstanding rating. We started with orange cardamom mojitos accompanied by chili olive naan--wonderful! For entrees, my wife ordered duck breast korma and I ordered deconstructed rosemary infused pork vindaloo. My wife insisted that the duck was the best she'd ever had. For me, the pork vindaloo was as savory a dish as I'd had in a long time. My wife finished with saffron rice kheer, which she raved over, and I tried Amrut--an Indian single malt whisky that was phenomenal. I plan to order a bottle for myself for Christmas! Overall, everything was as good as it could be.
Even if you are hesitant to try Indian cuisine, you need to give Raas a chance. Their menu is able to accommodate all tastes, and the presentation and flavor of the dishes will delight you. So glad we found Raas!
Edward, Thank you for taking a couple of minutes of writing up and your wife's experience at Raas. We are glad to we were able to provide you with a memorable dining experience
Raas did not disappoint! From the flavorful cocktails to the small plates and on to entrees all were prepared to perfection but the tandoori whole pompano fish was the star for me. Seasoned to perfection and cooked exactly how it should be in capable hands. The chef knows his stuff! And service was great! We will definitely return!!
Thank you for taking a couple of minutes of writing up your recent experience. We are glad to we were able to provide you with a memorable dining experience
Eggplant appetizer was excellent, as was the lamb shank.
Excellent meal. Not the cheapest around but it is high quality good that is very very well prepared. Excellent staff and even got to meet the head chef and co-owner GG. Had a great conversation with him.
JonO: Thank you for your kind words about your experience at Raas. Glad to hear that you spent some time to know our head Chef (and co-owner)
Wonderful menu, service was outstanding and Chef Gi Gi is charming. Couldn’t ask for more!
Thank you for the kind words, LauraM
Food was excellent. The chef made a point of saying hello and talking about the food. Our waiter though was a bit frazzled.
Great food and friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely eat here again.
Chef GG is always a delight. He comes to your table, answers any questions for those of us not as familiar with Indian Cuisine, and provides guidance on the menu. I had the duck breast and it was fabulous. If you have not tried this place because you don't think you would like Indian food- think again.
Delicious meal, attentive service, beautiful venue. A great choice for the last night of our vacation. A little pricey, but totally worth it.
Beautifully decorated Victorian home gives this Indian restaurant an almost spa-like feel. The service was terrific and the food was delicious.
Thank you Swell, for your kind words about your experience inside the Victorian.
First, Raas is a gorgeous restaurant and beautiful smells so exotic. Lovely. There were 5 of us for a beautiful birthday dinner for my son. To our delight, the chef came to our table to welcome us and explain some dishes on the menu! Needless to say we had a table full of appetizers and wine in no time. Our delicious entrees followed. Upon the Chef’s suggestion I ordered the whole Tandoori Fish which the whole table enjoyed. It’s a beautiful restaurant with attentive staff. After dinner the chef returned with a slice of 3layer chocolate cake and a candle. The whole restaurant sang! Loved it! I highly recommend Raas. We will definitely return.
Thank you for your recent visit to Raas. We are thrilled that you chose us to celebrate your son's birthday and that we were able to provide you a memorable experience.
Awful food. Salmon was frozen and old. Samosa tasted like cardboard.
Food is not fresh.
I had a stomachache all night.
Delicious authentic Indian food, with reasonable portion sizes. Highly recommend!
Excellent Indian food. Pricey but will def go back! Service was great as well.
Service was prompt and the food was fabulous! Not a single complaint to be had. Say outdoors and the weather was perfect. Can’t wait to go back!
Love Love Love Raas!! Best Indian fusion in the Delaware area.
Traditional spices and flavors but presented in a new, creative way. The only restaurant in the area worth the prices on the menu.
We had a delicious dinner sitting outside. Our waiter was very attentive. The bindi marsala was delicious. The sauce on the butter chicken was also delicious but the chicken dry and tough.
Thank you CarrolL for your kind words about your recent visit to Raas. Bindi Marsala is def a fan favorite. It means the world to our team that we can provide you a memorable dining experience during this summer.
Restaurant was lovely, however once we were seated (we had a reservation), we were totally neglected. We had to seek out the server. At a minimum the restaurant should have comped us a cocktail or appetizer. We were left sitting for 25 minutes! Expected the chef to make his rounds. We saw him but he did not stop at our table. The food was good, not great. Cocktails were good but dinner was rushed after we were left waiting. We would have preferred a more enjoyable relaxed evening. We enjoyed the chicken Korma and the cauliflower appetizer. The eggplant appetizer was okay but not great as yelp reviews had claimed. The biryani was fine, not great. Butter Naan was very good. Occasionally Indian food can upset my stomach and this did for the remainder of the night. I wish the restaurant well, but was disappointed in the lack of care given to us.
This Indian-Asian fusion venue is a staple for us when dining out in Lewes. Friendly staff provides attentive but not intrusive service under the watchful eyes of management who is always accommodating to special requests. Food is excellent with lots of new items on the menu. There’s outside seating on the quaint Victorian front porch and on a concrete patio next door. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her crispy tandoori whole fish as I did my tandoori half Cornish game hen. Will definitely return.
Thank you, EricM for your continuous support of Raas. Please note that your words and excitement for return visits means the world to our team on the ground.
Food was amazing, especially the saffron chicken small plate and the lamb shank! Tried 3 of the naan options offered and all 4 were amazing.
Thank you ersheido for your kind words about your recent visit to Raas. The Lamb Shank and naans are fan favorites. Glad to heard you got to try all 3 naans.
Mediocre food, poor value for money. Swordfish was the best of our dishes. Plenty of space between tables.
