Rainforest Cafe - Chicago Gurnee

For my daughter’s 16th birthday we traveled from Ohio to Illinois to visit downtown Chicago. We drove an hour to Gurnee so she could get to eat at the place she’s always wanted to eat at The Rain Forest Cafe. The one that used to be in downtown Chicago was an amazing experience. The one in Gurnee is in a mall. The setup was open to where you could see into the mall, which I felt took away from the animals, the moon and the stars. There’s not much to choose from on the menu and the menu prices where outrageous. I honestly was shocked! I know it’s not McDonalds and expected the prices to be more but not $145.00 for an appetizer, 2 cheeseburgers with fries and 2 turkey wraps with fries and a dessert. I made the reservation in advance and let them know it was her sweet 16, mentioned it again when we arrived and then to the waiter. They sang happy 17th birthday😩

1st time going with my family and we love it! Food is amazing, service is amazing and place is wonderful! Definitely going back!

Went here for my sons 3rd birthday dinner and it was amazing! This was our first time and the servers were excellent they went above and beyond. Food was amazing and can out on time! I left my credit card in the passport and when I returned the waiters were looking for me to return it!

We had a reservation for 6:30, but did not get seated until 7. Our server looked really rushed and got triple set, but was very short and seemingly unfriendly with us.

The kids love getting together here once a year!!

Our waitress was great and the manager was very informative and accommodating regarding an allergy for our little one.

They accommodated our request to change tables to better suit our party.

6 adults and 7 children age 7 and under ate here for lunch. Service was good for our large group. The children enjoyed walking around seeing the animal displays. Food quality was good, although prices were a bit high although probably in line with the environment. Overall a decent stop in a mall - more of an experience with average food - not exceptional and nothing bad to say. Overall no regrets that we stopped.
