At Raisu, the focus is on providing the freshest fish and excellent costumer service. Our fish flown in from Japan twice a week. On a level comparable to other high end sushi restaurants, yet for an affordable price. Traditional nigiri (served with freshly grated wasabi) comes with signature toppings. Reserve ahead of time for Omakase, which is available in limited quality.

We had a great time at Raisu. We ordered 5 rolls and a bottle of sake along with a couple of appetizers ( tartare and edamame). The highlight of the meal was the infernal roll that came to the table literally on fire. The hijack roll, spider roll and vegetable rolls were all excellent. Service was friendly and prompt. We would certainly go to Raisu again.

The salmon bits in the maki roll were of the perfect size. Next time, we’ll try the fancier rolls for a fuller experience. This visit served as a reconnaissance mission on the classics. The atmosphere was a nice getaway along this very busy Northside corridor. The sake sampler was delish. 🍣🍣🍣🍤✌️

Didn’t expect much from this place but boy, we were pleased, we found a gem. My husband had omakase and he loved it. I had a maki roll and can’t remember the name but it was really delicious and fish was so fresh. Looking forward to coming back again. Also their little salads were so good.

This was not my first visit to Raisu. They have become a go-to for me. The quality of the fish is always excellent, the preparation is always outstanding. The service is always terrific. Their menu is not as robust as it is in many other sushi restaurants, and it shows…In a very good way. They do what they do beautifully. I will be back time and time again.

We were there first people into the restaurant on the day we went. We enjoyed the Omakase they had and it was wonderful. Some of the fish I had not had before, but was wanting to try every single one again. It was quiet and quaint. It is not a place a lot of people go to it seems, but deserves 5 stars. A friend who had never done Omakase before, but enjoys sushi, said it was some of the best fish he has ever had and I would agree! If I lived close, I would be going again.

I took my wife for a Japanese experience and we had a wonderful time as we opted for the Omakase. We had flights of sake and just had a wonderful evening. Staff was pleasant and made the experience wonderful.

Hilariously bad service, ridiculously overpriced food, and painfully overrated. We’re new to the Chicago area, so we figured “the best sushi restaurant in Chicago” would be an easy grand slam. Apparently Chicagoans don’t know sushi. This is an average sushi restaurant and nothing more. The only thing they do different from any other sushi restaurant is charge you $350 for your meal.
