Ray's in the City

Service was great. Food was just okay.

Thai chicken salad and pimento fritters were out of this world. Hallie was so sweet. This is the only place we will dine when we come to town.

We had a great time celebrating our first anniversary!! I would highly recommend this location.

Always great! I was a little bummed out they were out of the non-alcoholic beer I love last time we visited. My girlfriend has to get the fig old fashion every time we’re in town for America’s Mart! Food is wonderful. Service seems better at lunchtime rather than dinner, but the restaurant is less busy at lunch so not surprising. We will be back...We love Ray’s!!!!

So very wonderful. We had the cedar honey salmon, oyster Rockefeller and of course the peach martini! Service was top notch! Someone was available at all times but not overbearing.

I was absolutely appalled with this restaurant. Do they not understand that we are in a pandemic? There were people packed inside the door, at the bar, and crammed at tables in the dining room. It was not like this on prior visits, which is why we decided to come here. While I understand these times are hard for restaurants, Rays seems to have chosen profit over the safety of its guests. I have always liked eating here but will not return anytime soon.

The staff is always wonderful. The food is excellent. Really nice bar. The manager Faith is the best!

We come every year for the merchandise show, we missed Ray's! We were so happy that they were open and we got an early reservation. Food to service was outstanding!

This restaurant is always a winner! My go to when I am going to be downtown.

Wonderful meal

Wonderful after work dinner. Enjoyed some great wine and a fabulous dinner. Though I learned you don't order an old fashion at Ray's. They need a trip up north to learn what an old fashion is

From arriving to leaving, everything was amazing. COVID guidelines and protocol was in full effect. The atmosphere was great since it was a special occasion. Our servers were punctual, informative and friendly.

This is officially my favorite steak house in Atlanta. The service was amazing. Every bodies steak in my party was cooked to exact tempt and color and they were all high quality. I visit frequent steak houses and I must say they really took care of us and will certainly be going back. What an experience for my wife’s birthday.

We are on our honeymoon and wanted a high end experience. Everything we tasted was excellent. The service was sufficient. Given our experience with other restaurants of this caliber, this is now my favorite for the city of Atlanta. Bravo.

We had a great experience at Ray’s in the City. I do not remember our waiter’s name but he was very attentive and quick. Teresa is a fabulous hostess. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend ordering the three cheese Mac and a Peachtree St. marg.

Great spot. Definitely a place for anniversary or such. Steak a bit chewy for a 50$ steak but flavor great. Great drinks. Great seafood.

I would say for a 4/5 star restaurant we got 2.5 star food and 3 star service. Started with crab cake which was actually nicely done. Had a ribeye that was nicely cooked but lacked any flavor at all. This was complemented by mashed potatoes that were quite good. I also ordered lobster tail to accompany my meal. The lobster tail was completely overcooked, and while trying to chew it reminded me of a bouncy ball you get out of the quarter machine. The service was ok, however be aware you don't have a server that you have your entire meal. They have several servers serving a section, and its never the same person coming to your table. This leads to glasses sitting empty and having to ask multiple times for items, because the servers get sidetracked, or think someone else has already gone to get you a drink refill. It seemed chaotic, at best. Overall it was a nice meal, but for us we have had much better service and food in the city of Atlanta. Hard to say if we would go back.

Horrible Service!!!! Visited on New Year’s Eve to celebrate my birthday and was very disappointed with the service received. Our server Danny was very inattentive and ignored our table for the majority of our dine-in. As he walked by our table, he proceeds to look the other way. We had to go out of our way just to get his attention. As a result, my birthday celebration was ruined! I booked my reservation as a birthday and was not even acknowledged for that until after I mentioned it, while as ordering my desert and asking for a candle to blow out. We felt like unwelcomed guests even after spending $700 with this establishment and he received a 20% gratuity that he didn’t deserve. Needless to say, that was my first and last visit to Ray’s in the City.

We had reservations for NYE. They required a 10% fee to hold reservation for that day, which is no problem. When we get there the lobby is FULL of people who the hostess states she is seating on a "as they arrive" basis versus by their reservation. Not acceptable, sorry! When I voiced my concern she basically stated we hadn't been waiting a long time and that we would eventually be seated.
Then they were using multiple servers to wait on our entire room. No problem. EXCEPT they were not communicating properly. I ordered drinks from one server. Appetizer from a second. We got a HOT appetizer before our drinks, then we only got partial drink order. We noticed some tables had bread and some didn't, we asked if there was bread for the table and the server actually looked annoyed that I asked. Her response, " I'll see if we have some" and of course MAGICALLY we now have bread.
For the price the entire experience was lackluster. You cannot have an "upscale" restaurant and your hostess doesn't know how to host and your servers dont how how to wait. I would not come back to Rays if they paid me.

We ate at Ray’s in the City for New Years Eve 2020. Service was great, food was outstanding. We picked a great spot to bring out the year.

Everything was fine up until the wait for our desserts to be boxed up. It took quite a while.

Waitress was ahhh.. and the seafood platter needed a little more seafood. but everything else was awesome.

Very classy place! Customer service was awesome beginning with the host and hostess, throughout dinner and as we left the restaurant. Food was great too!

Food and service were so good, I ate here two days in a row! Can’t wait to return.

Ray’s was amazing. Great vibe. Great service. Great prices. Great food. I literally have no complaints whatsoever.
