Rec Pier Chop House
Our entire dining experience was excellent. The food was delicious, the service was perfect and the ambiance was great. We will definitely return to the Rec Pier Chop House in the future.
The food and service were both excellent! Would definitely come again!
We loved our experience at Rec Pier Chop House. Excellent, attentive yet friendly service. High quality inventive dishes with lovely presentation. We didn’t have one bite of food that wasn’t of the highest quality. We’ll definitely return.
The service was amazing and the food was good. Our server was Ian and he was so knowledgeable about everything and provided excellent customer service. We were very impressed that we ended up going to brunch the next morning and the food was delicious.
Went for birthday dinner, zero acknowledgement for birthday. Prior trips there were nice. The server was rude and didn’t seem to care about our dining experience. Very disappointing dinner.
Excellent from start to finish!
Nothing very special about the food
A storybook picturesque space craftily designed to meld the origin of this venue...but...culinarily...improvements should be made with time and temperature of pasta! Additionally, burrata turns to mozzarella if too long is the case, and in this case, that is 100% true! So some obvious reconfiguring is needed! Otherwise, phenomenal food with some slight nudging required to attain 5star!
Beautiful location, architecture, lighting, and decor.
Bar was very crowded, we did come early to have a drink ,however we were not sure where to wait while I table was being prepared. There were some tables in front of the bar that were not dinner tables, but they were dirty, and we were not sure you could sit there. Took a while to figure that out.
Service was fantastic, atmosphere was lovely, food was delicious. It was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary!
We sat down at 8:20 but didn’t get served our meals until 9:50. The server was obviously swamped and wasn’t attentive. We tried to flag her down multiple times for a water refill, and would’ve ordered more wine but she never dropped off the menu as requested. Food was good, but we expected so much more.
Service and food was good. Only complaint is the limited menu. Not too many choices
This place is AMAZING. The atmosphere was perfect and my goodness the food was great. Can't get enough of this spot!
Said to say, but I don’t see myself come back here anytime soon. The meat used to be spectacular, but last few times it was merely good. The potato dish and mushroom were both overly salty, though tuna crude was very good. Despite the good service, I just can’t rationalize spending $280 for an ok meal for two, so will have to find another “go-to” spot for great steaks in Baltimore. :(
Ambiance was very nice. Service was a bit slow and it was not busy at all. Overall 4 to of 5
My husband and I went here to celebrate his birthday. I'm a vegan, and they were able to accommodate me, and my pasta dish was delicious. However, my husband's steak was undercooked and had to be taken back to the kitchen. You expect better at a place like this. Also, I told the restaurant in advance that we were coming to celebrate my husband's birthday. This was confirmed by the hostess at the restaurant before we were seated. The couple on both sides of us had a candle in their dessert, but not so in ours! Why acknowledge that it's someone's birthday before being seated, and then do absolutely nothing special for their birthday! It could have been a much more memorable evening....
Excellent service but food was a disappointment. Ceasar salad was excellent but that was the highlight for the food. My wife had the veal bolognese which was good but my rib eye steak was subpar. It was cooked properly but i felt there was too much fat/grizzle on the steak to be paying $57. I have been to many steakhouses, especially in NYC, and i would have to say Rec Pier is well below their quality.
I would go there for the cocktails (neat bar atmosphere) but i would not return for the food.
Exquisite dining experience. The food was beautifully presented and the service was exceptional!
Will definitely be back, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, our server was outstanding. The sheep milk ricotta appetizer was delicious, as were the goodies in the pastry misti basket. We had a variety of dishes from the menu; pancakes (please update the menu to reflect you no longer have ricotta pancakes, it was a bit disappointing to find that out when they were served), french toast, egg white omelette and burger. all of our meals were flavorful, beautifully presented and a perfect portion size. A definite must try whether you are in the Fell's Point area, or not, well worth the trip!
Always a great experience when dining here- it’s our favorite restaurant by far !
The food was just fair and not worth the quite high prices. We needed to ask for a 2nd plate, even though we told our waiter we were SHARING the Caesar salad. We had to ask for fresh pepper, which was actually brought over much later than the salad. Our entree, ( a veal with white sauce and pasta dish), which we also shared, was barely warm. All in all, for quite a pricey dinner on a Saturday night, we were quite disappointed.
We need the flashlights on our phones in order to read the menu. Very low, diffused lighting. Most of the food was well prepared. We ordered the additional brocollini for the table, but it was very acidic, and difficult to digest. Two in our party were ill following the dinner that night. We did not order the brussels sprouts, but when they were served, we politely reminded the servers that we place the order and we were not charged.
Took a while for food
It was absolutely delicious, the service was as phenomenal and the space is gorgeous. I highly recommend.
All 3 steaks were very dry
The food looked amazing and the restaurant itself was beautiful to look at. Great wine selection. We just sat there for a long while without service so we chose to leave and go somewhere else. We did appreciate their calls to rectify the situation but we’d already sat somewhere else. Maybe we will try this place one day but we were disappointed this visit.
My friend and I were in town for a conference and saw The Pendry when out for a walk. We did a little research about the restaurant inside and decided to make a reservation. I am a vegetarian and she plays along when we go out to dinner😉 We ended up getting the pumpkin soup, charcuterie board and all of the vegetable sides. The Brussel sprouts were the most delicious Brussel sprouts I have ever eaten. Our cocktails were made with care and panache. The ambiance is top notch. Lighting is exquisite and they have just done everything right in terms of design choices. I highly recommend this restaurant. Come early and have a cocktail in the courtyard.
Excellent service with very professional and attentive staff and the meal was pricey but awesome.
Tyree was a great server recommending just the right food
Great pastas and good wine list. The service was adequate but not good. The time between the pasta course and main was too long. My duck was okay and overpriced (and the server was unable to accurately describe the dish to me). My husband enjoyed his steak. TVs in the bar which are in view from the dining room muddle the ambiance.
Very impressive customer service from valet to the dining experience. Top notch service.
The service is exceptional and the good incredible.
The food was great. The steaks were amazing. But, we had to wait an hour after our reservation time to be seated.
We went to the Rec Pier Chop House for a special meal at the end of a holiday weekend. The Pendry hotel in which it is located is a spectacular luxury hotel akin to Marriott's Edition. The walkways are filled with beautiful art a lush greenery. The food at the Chop House was very good. We had the Pumpkin soup, a seasonal special, that was just delicious. Also had a big Caesar salad, halibut and brussel sprouts - each of which was very nice. While the food was very good - the service was only ok. The soup and salad came out at the same time. I suppose we're supposed to eat the soup while it's hot? The waitress knew her stuff and could recite the specials etc.... but had little happiness. Meh. The cocktail didn't come out until after we had the appetizer. None of those things are great sins.... but the prices at the Chop House are surely luxury prices - with the steaks in the $150 range. The hotel room was also at a luxury price. At that price range, I expect luxury service and luxury ambiance. Good or perhaps very good - but not awesome.
The room was so loud, you couldn’t hold a conversation with the people at the table. 4 people came to the table when we sat down asking if there was anything they could get us. After that, it was hard to get our water glass filled. Food was ok but way overpriced.
Great food, great space. As with most American restaurants I don't understand this incessant need to clear plates and bowls away while people are still eating. Leave everything until the last person finishes eating. Makes you feel that you're being rushed.
Great meal, great service. A perfect choice for a date night or special occasion. The pumpkin soup was a stand out.
Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore!
Oh my what a wonderful experience.
As a proud Baltimorean, I couldn't stop smiling.
Wonderful, friendly but efficient and warm service. Go Danny!
Food so good I wanted to get a room and come back the next day.
Thank God for Under Armour and Kevin Plank - Great Baltimore citizens.
Way to go!
While there was drama outside of the control of the restaurant (patron collapsed at their table requiring an ambulance) This had an impact on the quality of the food (steak was cold) and the service. I would generally have expected more from a restaurant that charges these prices. In addition, when I sent my medium-rare steak back because it was cold (having sat while the drama noted above ensued) it came back heated up however was no longer medium rare and was a little tough. Generally for these prices we would be more inclined to go to the Prime Rib in the future for our Anniversary dinner.
