Service was great, waiter was helpful and friendly.
Food all cold. Very greasy. Very expensive for what it was.
Having been several times previously I find the menu choice quite lacking nowadays. It seems to be all pushed towards the hot chicken and having the rib or brisket becomes very expensive. The food was lovely as always, however 4 pieces of chicken served on a tiny plate was a challenge as they kept falling off. The tasty sausage has been replaced with a morica sausage, and whilst nice, it’s very pricey for a few slices of half a sausage.
Good choice of burgers, but then adding sides becomes expensive again. Added to that a service charge of 10% it became an expensive dinner.
All in all, great quality food and service at a premium price.
The chicken wings were incredibly salty.
I thought the carnivore meat tray for minimum of 2 was exceptionally over priced (£25pp) - Bare Grills is much better value for money in comparison.
Generally ok but other places do it better.
Very good service and food. Would defiantly return.
Myself and my partner found that the food was far too deep fried and greasy
Food was great the atmosphere is amazing as usual we eat here quite regularly and it’s amazing every time! Highly recommended!!
Service was amazing, really quick and great food would really recommend.
No soft drinks on any form of printed menu.
Very expensive.
Weirdly sat all customers in the same area by the windows with little space in between, when there was a basically the whole restaurant empty. Felt very uncomfortable so left.
Presentation of food and value for money I feel was poor . Customer service wasn’t great either
We were really looking forward to our visit but found the food a bit disappointing. Three of us had a burger with bacon and the bacon was so salty that you couldn’t taste anything else in the burger! Nice staff and lovely restaurant to sit in.
We had a table booked for 10am, to be told they weren't going to open until 10:30am, so it was a shambles from the start, the woman serving didn't know how to work the music, make a drink and also came out with a pathetic excuse about the manager takes longer to get to the restaurant so couldn't play music until he arrived as she doesn't know what playlist he likes, then when we try to order they didn't have any milk to make the shakes that are clearly advertised, at this point we knew it was going to be terrible! Then we ordered food, I took one bite into the brisket hash and hurt my mouth, there was a bone in it, no indication on the menu about potential bones, food wasn't even warm and this summed up how terrible the visit was, the server then got the hump because I stated I wasn't paying the service charge as it was an awful experience, so we sat in silence, couldn't have the drink advertised, chomped down on a bone and due to all this the bill was £24, and personally it was £24 more than it was worth, I will not be visiting again and I think it was ridiculous how bad the experience was, we were beyond disappointed and were offered no apology, no care about the bone, and the attitude change when I said I wasn't going to be paying the service charge summed up the whole experience! But I doubt this will be followed up.
Outstanding as always!!! The best burgers available on south coast!!!
A bit concerned ad there wasn't much separation between diners and all next to each other at front of restaurant. Not asked to scan nhs app..
I was served beef brisket croquettes which were frozen in the middle. The front of house staff were very apologetic and polite, which I have reflected in the service rating, however the kitchen sending out frozen food has affected the overall rating. We have been to red dog many times but I am not likely to return after this experience as I don’t feel the food quality is acceptable.
Nice friendly staff, outstanding lunchtime deal, nice homemade juicy burgers
Food was amazing as always!
First time here and really loved it! Food was amazing, burger cooked perfectly (rare, which you never get out anymore!) and the sides were fab, especially the mozzarella sticks. We had a cocktail each and thoroughly enjoyed those too. The only thing I would say is that upon arrival we were told we’d only have an 1 hour 15 minutes on the table but this wasn’t on the website nor in the confirmation email so we did feel slightly rushed.
great food lovely vibe, made all the better by our fantastic server Chloe!
Lovely meal out for my birthday, quiet in the restaurant and lovely attentive waiting staff. Thoroughly recommend, the food is incredible!
Disappointed........my son enjoyed his burger but my brisket was cold.
Very expensive for what was served.
Food quality as always. Good service. Only downside when I come is is the forced gratuity fee. I usually tip places anyway but I think you should have a choice.
Food delicious. Would not return however as toilets disgusting. No toilet roll, no hot water, no soap and no dryer. Toilet itself was dirty. Not acceptable in any circumstances especially niw
Have visited red dog many times and the food again on this visit was excellent. It will be better when the full menu comes back.
The only downside was the service. We waited ages for someone to take our order because they were chatting to another member of staff. There was also a lot of staff dotted around not doing much and as the place was very quiet during this visit it felt a bit of a let down.
Great service, phenomenal food and a great soundtrack being played in the restaurant.
We went at lunch so got a great meal for a great price.
Unfortunately they didn’t have the first 2 beers we asked for, or any pitcher jugs available, but the service was very good. The food was very tasty, and the bbq sauces were stand out! The staff were all wearing masks properly and the tables seemed socially distanced. We had a lovely evening, thanks.
honestly the best place ever for burgers! Cant rate it enough!
Really off putting having a meal when the bar staff have there face makers round there neck instead of on there face
No coke, shocking lack of drinks- they had run out of a lot. Food was nice but overpriced no different to any burger joint nothing special. The staff were pretentious and rude ... and you don’t get the option to tip it’s added to your bill so you have to have the awkward conversation of saying actually I’m not paying that which of course I didn’t want to do so gave a tip that did not reflect service. Was a birthday meal and I left really unhappy would have ordered in to be honest!
Everything was great, the only slight downside was ambience but I don't know what they can do to help fix that. It might be a COVID issue sadly.
Food is just okay ish, I would not order the same as I had for sure. Meat platter was big, but not tasty or fresh. Potato salad wasn't nice, fries from McDonald's are better than was in this place.
Cocktails are very nice.
The best thing about this the restaurant was the staff, I would go there again, but for drinks only.
I find red dog very expensive for the quality of food, especially the vegetarian options.
It is over crowded and loud so would suit young people/parties.
It’s not a restaurant I would choose to go to for quality food.
The food just wasn’t enjoyable, it wasn’t nice and for a 2 burgers 2 side and 2 milkshakes it came to £50 due to service charge. Really disappointed and the restaurant had a 1 way system but sat us back to back with the table in front and behind us hardly any room to pull the chair out never mind two meters or any form of distancing and the restaurant was full.
We arrived 10min early for our booking, and were told we’d have to come back in 10min, yet the group of 2 behind us without a booking were seated immediately at a table for 4 (which could have seated our group of 4).
When we came back at our booking time our table was still not ready and we were asked to wait.
When finally seated, we were told we couldn’t order any milkshakes, but maybe they be available at the end of our meal.
The food was lukewarm.
When combined with staff having to wear masks, the music was too loud - we had to ask the waitress to repeat herself multiple times.
At the end of the meal we wanted to order desert, and were told they were all out of desserts (baring in mind they only offer two options anyway).
Very disappointing - will not re-visit
We arrived for breakfast. I was the first guest in your whole restaurant and on arriving I passed a gentlemen in the doorway not wearing a mask.
I asked on entrance if I was required to wear one and the lady who greeted me said yes and then guided me to the first table on entrance just 2 meters in front of me.
There were a group of people congregated at the bar area and some of which also weren’t wearing masks. Whilst waiting for my 2 friends to arrive, I witnessed multiple leave/return from the restaurant not wearing masks.
The waitress serving me had a ‘resting face’ and no welcoming or approachable manner about her.
My friends arrived and we were excited about eating and looked over the drinks. I had said to my friends I was thinking about a milkshake to which the waitress overheard and shouted from across the room ‘you might wanna choose again Cos we have no milk’
Well I was really taken back by this statement, firstly as it was so rude and secondly I was shocked how a business could be out of such a basic commodity. Quite simply if you were out of stock you could simply goto a store and source some more as a last resort rather than to refuse so many items on the menu which include such a commodity!!
How can you serve breakfast or hot drinks or milkshake without such a thing?
The waitress was rude and sadly not really helpful, I had asked if perhaps they could send someone out to fetch some milk rather than to inconvenience all your guests and she said no. She bluntly said they were understaffed despite me seeing multiple staff members in the restaurant and people congregated by the bar area. Of whom she said weren’t staff but I believe otherwise. When I asked her why they weren’t wearing masks she blunted diverted blame and took no responsibility for the lack of COVID control measures in place.
We ordered some drinks, but our waitress continued to be so rude so we left and decided to eat elsewhere!
Absolutely loved our meal! The waitress so lovely and generally just a cool place
Extremely overpriced drinks; waitress was somewhat rude to us when we asked for our missing portion of chips; food was 'okay'; music was too loud to understand our server.
We had a burger , pulled pork and Ribs and all was over salted , only two options for pudding and one of those was out of stock.
Great food and very good service. Very pricey for what you actually get, as all the side dishes are extra. Very noisy and hard to have a conversation with the person across the table from you. Nevertheless, I would recommend it, if you are happy spending what I consider an excessive amount of money for a burger.
On arrival to our table wasn’t advised what was still on the menu so after sitting there waiting to decide what we wanted we were then told that half of the meat and the chicken selections were not available and we didn’t find our server the best of help
Well organised and visibly keeping an eye on being Covid secure. Food was good, (maybe a tad expensive for what you are getting - but tasted good!) Staff were pleasant and helpful. They did automatically put an automatic gratuity on the bill which I find a bit rude - had they not done so the tip would have been more generous.
