First time dining at this location. Great food made very well.
Dinner with friends was very nice!
One of the best restaurants outside of Downtown Chicago.
The waitress was fantastic! No complaints on the service. The price point to the portion size could improve. I ordered the filet mignon came with whipped potatoes and spinach, the whipped potatoes and spinach was about a small spoon full. Otherwise the meals were enjoyed by all.
Great food. Really knowledgeable servers. Good cocktail list.
We love Region. When my family visits, we usually order several small plates and one or two large plates and share everything; it’s great to be able to taste so many delicious dishes in one meal. Love the decor, especially during the holidays. Service is great, too.
Good food, great service.
Excellent service , food !!
Sit at the bar and order the tuna app, NY strip and the cheesy potatoes.
Entrees are very heavy with too many ingredients and not enough of each ingredient. Wait staff was excellent.
When they opened the food was outstanding. Now the quality of the food, menu changes, and presentation has gone down to just average. Will not be dining there any time soon, if ever.
Update: After posting my review they reached out to me to responded to my concerns. Their response was very helpful and they assured me that they were just as disappointed in not meeting my expectations. They generously compensated me for my disappointing dining experience. We certainly will trust they will return to the quality service during on next visit.
Thank you for taking time to review your recent dining experience at Region. It breaks our hearts to hear that our food has met the "just average" mark with you. We would like to get to the bottom of which menu items we have fallen short on. Your feedback is valued so please email Jillian with a phone number and convenient time that we can talk. firstname.lastname@example.org o m .
We dined at Region for the first time and have found our new favorite restaurant. The ambiance is very nice. Dimly lit and not very loud. The service was amazing! We had Kristin and will request her next time we go! The food was great. I had Chilean Sea bass that was so tasty and my husband raves about the meatloaf special.
We went back to Region for our anniversary. This restaurant does everything right! Our server, Thomas S., was very friendly, explained the drinks and dishes when we asked, and timed the food perfectly. I had the scallops - a perfect indulgence (plated in a real shell!) - and my husband had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf. The cheesecake of the day was the best we’ve ever had. The drinks and salad were great too. Highly recommend this place!
This place is definitely worth visiting as we will be back again shortly. Everything was great.
Great food and service. Thanks to Yesenia for taking great care of us. We missed Chef Dave last night. Hopefully next time he will stop by our table.
Good food, service some things to improve is presentation of drinks(glassware).
We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and we have never had a bad meal. The beef short ribs are to die for. Great sevice and the prices are very reasonable.
We enjoyed everything except the gnocchi--would not recommend it. Still noisy!
So worth it for the food and service!
Yet another outstanding meal from Regions! From the moment we walked in the door, the service was outstanding. I brought two good friends to restaurant for the first time and as we were about to leave from dining, they both agreed this restaurant was a "10"! We all had something different: steak, salmon, and scallops. What more can I say except that their specialty drinks were yet another pleasing item we enjoyed.
Our new favorite upscale eatery. Met the chef/owner and his wife. Nice folks. They run a great place with spectacular food
The food was amazing - both our small plates and entrees. Our server Elizabeth was very attentive and polite. Our waters were constantly full and plates cleared to make room on the table for each course. The ambiance was lovely and chairs were cushioned and very comfortable. We were seated at a table next to a large window and despite the freezing temps outside there was a heavy drape helping to insulate and adding to the ambiance.
Really cool ambience for a NW suburban restaurant. Great for a date night or small group. Bar area is not large, but bartender was friendly and the bar itself (cut wood bar top) is really cool. We loved the food. Husband had the bone marrow appetizer, and we split mussels. Husband's ribeye was swimming in sauce (which seemed a little heavy handed). My meatloaf special was enough for 2 meals. We enjoyed cheesecake for dessert, but the boozy shake was too boozy for us (WOW!). It made us laugh, though! Service was great once we got seated. (We had to wait 20+ minutes despite a reservation.)
The food was top notch. We shared a smoked trout dip, then my husband had the steak with the OMG butter and I had the filet meatballs (don't get these as an app unless you have at least 4 people to share them)! Agnes was wonderful - ask to be at her table if you can. We'll be back!
Everything was very good. Prices were high but not too excessive. Was a bit louder in there than I would want for how expensive it was.
What a fantastic restaurant! We went for our anniversary and every moment of the meal was exquisite! The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious!
Creative and very tasty menu as well as featured cocktails. Service was stellar. Make reservations as it is busy, even on a weekday. Not inexpensive, but locally sourced, fresh and the choices abound
Excellent food with highly educated wait staff !!!
I cannot stress enough what a fantastic restaurant this is! After four visits we cannot wait to go back and order everything we haven’t yet tried. The kitchen is on point with complex and delicious plates, both big and small. I highly recommend everything we’ve eaten... including bacon-wrapped dates, “hot rock” seared steak, pecan-crusted walleye, cioppino, short rib, plus interesting and tasty cocktails! The service is lovely, the decor is warm and inviting (LOVE the soft cloth napkins) and you will instantly fall in love with the addictive lavash bread basket.
Love this Barrington gem! Since it is always busy, I would say many others feel the same way too!
Food was terrific - service a little slow. Place was packed. Seemed to tilt less hipster, more seasoned! We'll be back.
Our new go to place for an outstanding meal experience. Been there 7 or 8 times so far and it never disappoints. Have introduced several friends and relatives and everyone loves it.
Food was exceptional! Very knowledgeable server. Only downfall was restaurant was very loud.
Excellent food, mostly locally sourced. It was fairly quiet for our early evening dinner, but moderate noise level as we were leaving.
Region was great. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we both loved it!
Ambience, food and service were all lovely. Looking forward to coming back. Thank you!
Excellent food and excellent service. Bacon wrapped dates were to die for!! Also highly suggest the corn creme brûlée. Looking forward to returning
Kudos to the owners and service people at Region! We received gift cards at the end of our meal because the management noticed an unusual smell in the room in which we dined. I thought it might be mothballs since weather had taken a turn. We had not complained so I consider this above and beyond!! We will always return!!
We love the food and the service! Had a fantastic steak and monkfish. I love that the Risotto has been added to the menu!
Outstanding food, drinks, and service. Can’t wait to get back there.
Our first (but not last) visit to Regions was outstanding!
From the bacon wrapped dates to the English Sticky Toffee Pudding, everything was fresh and prepared perfectly.
Try the Boursin cheese stuffed filet Mignon! Or the walleye if you’re in a pescatarian mood!
Katie, our server was knowledgeable, timely and professional.
The entire evening was a pleasant culinary experience, they we will repeat.
