Hubert had great food, great friendly staff, and a good ambience. The lighting could have been a little brighter.
The food was so good we kept eating more bread so we could have more of the delicious duck parfait and XO butter that came with the snails! Little did we know the chicken (also delicious) that came after was massive! Lucky they doggy bagged this for us.
Staff had the perfect balance of being relaxed-approachable and professional, so it was easy to ask for things, and they made sure they came around often to check on us. At some restaurants it’s hard to even spot staff or call them over but Hubert’s was not like that at all. They had good knowledge of wine and recommended a really great bottle. They also made sure our water was never empty.
I think it’s the little things that make restaurants like Hubert’s outstanding. I would definitely recommend and go again!
Dinner at Restaurant Hubert was great. The meal was delicious and interesting, and the live Jazz added to the excellent ambience.

Fantastic atmosphere and great food at this hidden gem in Sydney's Bligh Street. From the spiral staircase that leads you down to the restaurant 2 levels below the street, to entering the dimly lit sumptuous dining space, every detail is superb. The food matched the setting and was fresh and delicious elegantly served by friendly and professional staff. Loved it, will be going back.
Perfect little speak easy fine dining restaurant. Has a great wine list and we loved our service from Tristan. Escargot and veal sweetbreads are worth the trip alone.

Food, atmosphere and service are next level at this restaurant. It never disappoints. A little on the expensive side (not too much) but worth every cent. Our server Lillian made the experience even more outstanding.
Fantastic experience at Hubert! Every dish was delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were thoughtful and kind. Would highly recommend the bar seats for date nights!

We had a family dinner there for the first time and were very impressed with the food, ambience and service. Chose a few meals as we had to try so many. Will definitely be going back as the food was delicious.
This was own I’d our best restaurant experiences! The service was very attentive and thorough. The ambience was enticing and relaxing. The food was excellent, from the gluten free biscuits through the meals to the creme caramel dessert.
Great venue with an amazing refurb (remember it as an old Chinese restaurant). Service and food was excellent, steak frites was delicious and tender - the creme brûlée also good but a little too bitter for me. Will definitely go back
Our experience was somewhat good. We enjoyed the music by Jonny Ohan immensely. The food was absolutely delicious but the waitresses mucked up our dessert order. The room has a nice atmosphere & romantic. Thank you

This french place makes you feel that you are at a movie setting for Mulan Rouge (decadent and romantic at the same time). I enjoyed the ambiance very much. The service could use some improvement. Food is also good.
The meal was pretty expensive for what we had. The food was nice enough though for the price it could have been more refined. There was a sharp bone in the fish. The steak tartare had so many fried chips on it for the amount of meat. Medium rare steak was very rare. Dessert was nice.
The food and service were exceptional, could just turn the lights up just a little. The food was delicious, and the service was great, but we all needed to use our phones to read the menus because we couldn't see it. But that was the only complaint.
This became one of my favourite restaurants just visiting there once. Food is above average and you get more than you expect (always a positive surprise).

Fantastic and memorable evening. Live jazz! What a treat! It was such an amazing atmosphere, we were right up next to the jazz band, but it was still the right level of noise where we could hear each other speak still. Service was spot on and attentive. Food was outstanding - we enjoyed the tender beef (perfectly medium rare)... crispy potatoes and delicious XO escargot. Can't wait to go back and soak up the atmosphere again. The band was BRILLIANT! Could listen to that all day long.
This joint is one of Sydney’s not to be missed dinning experiences. Lunch, dinner or anytime at the he bar, you will never be disappointed.

This was my second time dining at Hubert and it’s one of my favourite restaurants in Sydney. Fantastic service, delicious food and a really cool venue with mood, ambiance and live jazz! Will be going back again and again!
Amazing ambiance, and excellent service. There was a live jazz band playing which made for a great vibe. we had the set menu which was great value at $89 and allowed us to try a lot of different things. So much food - very delicious. I loved the dim lighting and the euro feel. My new fave - a must .
French food cooked well and well priced, attentive and knowledgeable service and lovely ambience. My favourite has to be the lighting, perfect dim and warm. Magnifique!

I attended January Jazz. The music was great! There was a banquet meal that was good value and included wine! Staff were very friendly and flexible. Email beforehand was also helpful and had a quick reply. The chocolate mousse desert is incredible and everyone should have it once in their lifetime.
It was my second time going here, I definitely can't recommend it enough. I took my partner here for our anniversary and he absolutely enjoyed it. I will certainly come back a third time.
Food was delicious, place was busy and a lot happening but at the same time I could comfortably have a conversation without yelling and without being distracted with everything else that is happening around us. Service was amazing, very helpful with choosing what dishes go together.

what an amazing restaurant, like stepping back in to France in the 1950s. Just loved it, the food, the service and the vibe. Wine list was a bit expensive but everything else was perfect. Can't wait to return
Service was great, the parfait was a bit sweet, escargot portion was small for $28. However, the fish was fantastic but again, $48 for a relative small portion. Good recommendation for the drinks by the waiter, there was also live jazz music which was a bonus. Might come back again in the future.
Absolutely love the ambiance and all the food was delicious!! The place really takes you away and it doesn't even seem like its even in Sydney anymore! I was so lucky to come in January as I got to experience the live band (the rookies were playing)! The most notable dishes were the escargot, rib-eye and the incredible gnocchi parisienne which I believe is made of a choux base (like no other)! Also their drink selection is expansive, a great selection of whiskys and wines! I will definitely be returning again!
