Amazing!!!!
Must do restaurant! Spectacular location, effortless, professional service, delicious asian inspired menu and great cocktails! What's not to love? Oh and those bug rolls...seriously!
Dined here with friends for a mate’s 50th birthday. We were given a table overlooking Burleigh beach, and the service was attentive, but not intrusive. We were a bit concerned about the set menu offered, but the restaurant catered for all dietary needs without a fuss, and we all enjoyed sharing each of the high quality dishes listed on the set menu. The drinks menu was vast and offered a good selection of wine by the glass, and/or bottled wine. The only downfall was the dessert which was nothing to get excited about. But overall a very enjoyable dining experience
Overall it was an amazing night. Initially it was overly loud as we seated with a large rambunctious group in front of us - we could barely hear each other. They then got their phone torches out when it came time to split the bill which was an added annoyance. The food, cocktails and service made up for it after they all left.
The only down was the acoustic . There was a big table close to us and all talking at the same time . It looks like the room needs something to absorb the noise . But overall was a fantastic dinner , food and view were amazing
Not our first and hopefully not our last visit. Brilliant food and care by the wait staff.
A fantastic afternoon and a highlight of our family holiday!
3rd time I have been to Rick shores and I must admit was very disappointed, my table was booked for 8:30 didn’t get a table until 9. The set menu looked very inviting however when the food started to arrive I was very disappointed with the quality and and the quantity. For $90 a head I expected a lot more. We did not get a whole barramundi as advertised we were lucky to get 2 pieces of soft crab shell each drinks were taking over half an hour to be delivered.
The food and service were amazing! It was a little loud but the only thing that really let it down was the bathrooms. They were not in keeping with the restaurant. They were basically dirty, public toilets with overflowing bins.
Great atmosphere, best GC location, efficient and professional staff, food was exceptional!
rick shores always delivers! amazing food & cocktails, professional service and the best view.
The $89 set menu was fantastic! SO MUCH FOOD! Loved it
Always a spectacular experience. My fave place on the GC. Excellent food, amazing service, and wonderful location.
Great restaurant! Amazing vibes- Elizabeth our waitress was possibly the best table waiter around! Will be going back very soon.
Fabulous venue, awesome location, amazing food (as always). Just the thought of the Bug Roll makes my mouth water. Can't wait to go back again.
This is an annual event for our group and one we look forward to all year. Friends from three states and catch up for two weeks holiday at the beach. A lunch sans husbands and children is sacrosanct.
On a sunny day it is to beat a view like the one offered from our corner table overlooking the ocean. From the moment the maître d’ greeted us we felt welcomed and our patronage valued. All of the staff are polite, helpful and incredibly attentive. Oysters two ways were delicious and then we settled in for a “Covid 19 set menu”.
Still unsure why a pandemic dictates this, and no previous al la carte however, the food did not disappoint. Soft shell crab was amazing and the barramundi 11/10. The bug rolls are a must - we can not pin it down as to what makes them so incredibly moorish- the in-house made soft sweet brioche bun, the fresh bug or the perfectly cooked lightly battered meat. Possibly the mayonnaise which has piece of bug blended through it.
Food allergies / sensitivity are not an issue, and seperate dishes with onion/ garlic removed and constructed beautifully and, without prejudice. Dare I suggest two were better than the covid 19 food...
Cocktail menu was FABULOUS. We started with a mojito and began working out way through their extensive list. Can definitely recommend you try at least one before you commence your meal as ALL were perfectly suited for a meal in summer at the beach.
Yes, we may have tried more than one, however we kept “tasting notes” and narrowed down our favourites to :
Summer 1- Rhubarb Ginger Gin, lemoncello, mango and egg whites
Summer 3- Applewood Coral Gin, Creme de peche, lemon and violette
Summer 6 - winds cutlass gin, grapes, lime and Thai basil
The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars as we felt as per previous visits, the dessert let them down. Pretty - yes. Tasty - yes. Wow factor- mmmm no.
However that should not stop you from enjoying a meal at this must have holiday destination restaurant.
Spectacular view, food and drinks!! A must do if you are on the Gold Coast
Best review, friendly staffs but poor food experience
Exceptional service with a outstanding view, the staff couldn’t do enough for us, as we traveled from WA, we will definitely return hopefully sooner rather than later!
Beautiful setting to have a delicious dining experience!
Quality of food and service at Rick Shores is excellent!
Just a fun place to go with good food for the family
The most delicious food, exceptional service, unbeatable views. A perfect dining experience.
Amazing food and the service was second to none. The location can't be beaten with the waves almost breaking on the edge of the restaurant. Highly recommend visiting the restaurant!
Excellent food - every meal was amazing. The service was fantastic and the location is the absolute best.
Was fantastic extremely happy with the service and the food.
Excellent set menu with a very good selection of starters served.
Will be back soon.
A very special restaurant. Amazing food, ambience and the staff are wonderful.
Amazing food with perfect presentation.
A big shout out to every single staff member who made you feel welcome, in particular Lacey:)
Beautiful afternoon at Rick Shores. Only thing to mention is the bathrooms are very average for such a beautiful establishment.
Excellent lunch! Thanks so much! One of the best restaurants in QLD
We always make Rick Shores a destination when we come up from Melbourne ,it never fails to deliver on all fronts,i was a little disappointed to see a set menu but i should not have worried as all dishes maintained the standard of their normal menu,we look forward to visiting again soon
Everything was fantastic. Could not fault the food or service. Waiter was great and we all really had a fantastic. night.
Food was fantastic especially the fish, prawn and bugs
Very disappointing! We spent over $1,000 and went home hungry and disappointed. The service from drinking at the bar to our dining experience was very poor. I have been going to Rick Shores for years and booked it on the basis that we would have a lovely evening with friends and family. We made several complaints during the evening (and had more), which weren't dealt with in a friendly manner. I was told at one point it was my fault I received the wrong drink and then when I asked for it to be resolved, the bar staff told me that I had to pay for both drinks.
Won't be returning any time soon!
Delicious as always! Look forward to full menu on offer again but at least they have the Morton Bay Bug Rolls!
Having read an abundance of positive reviews for Rick Shores and having had difficulty securing a reservation, it was with much excitement that I looked forward to dining there. Upon arrival, the view was spectacular and the ambience lively. The kids enjoyed their battered fish with rice meal, and the signature Moreton bay bug roll with Sriracha was delicious. The rest of the meal was most disappointing. The Salmon crudo, soft shell crab and salad dishes all suffered the same fate of a lack or flavour due to an absence of the expected dressing comprising the classic south East Asian balance of sweet, sour, spicy and salty elements. The dessert Pavlova was poorly conceived and executed with only the crunchy pavlova texture (and none of the softer centre) at odds with the sour yoghurt sorbet accompaniment.
Overall, a terribly overhyped restaurant with a very below par execution of south East Asian cuisine. Definitely not recommended unless you only care about the beachside location.
Our waiter was fantastic. He was very attentive and we could feel his positive energy and passion.
Possibly in my top 5 favourite restaurants on the Gold Coast...my objection this visit is the set menu. My husband hates set menus because he is quite picky, and i also get a bit annoyed when you cant at least select from a few options. The food was all beautiful, but we had to take home one of the courses because we couldnt eat it (too full) and we had to cancel the dessert. so its kind of a waste of money. I will be looking forward to when we can choose off the menu again. or run the gauntlet and try and jag a bar table or outside table so we can just order off the bar menu. which is near impossible over the holiday period...its so busy. And noisy.
the staff were so lovely and very helpful, and the drinks were great too. So if you dont mind a big set menu where you walk out completely stuffed then this is for you, but if you like a smaller meal and dont really eat dessert, then try a bar table where its walk in only and hard to get a table.
Fabulous venue for any occasion or no occasion at all! Service was top notch - special mention to Michael who looked after us for our visit. Would definitely recommend.
