Ristorante da Maria
Nice neighborhood restaurant! It was Valentine's Day, and they were understaffed - that explains the lapses in service. Definitely will try it on a light day ;) Food was excellent! Not a big choice of italian dishes, but enough for each of us to find something and enjoy it! Wine by the glass was a plus and these were good wines.
I so wanted to like this restaurant, it is clearly family run and very quaint. Unfortunately, we made a reservation for 6:30 and got seated at 6:50, then the first waiter approached at 7:10. One hour and forty five minutes later we got our food. Good food, but would not undergo the wait again. If this restaurant had a good manager it could be great, but they are relying on family staff only to get things done and they need more help. Also, it appears that door dash food takes precedence over actual customers in the restaurant.
This is a regular go-to for my family. Being Italian we are very picky about dining out for Italian food, but the dishes here are authentic and tasty. Portions are generous, and the owner always remembers us and treats us with warm hospitality.
Excellent food, solid, friendly service, very reasonable prices and above-average portion sizes. We were there on a Saturday evening at 6pm, and didn’t really need a reservation, but by 7pm, they started to get pretty busy.
Water was dripping from duct on our table. My husbands calzone was cold in the center. My rigatoni tasted good and was very hot. Service was slow and she seemed overwhelmed. Just so so.
Wonderful staff and food!
Was recommended on Nextdoor . It was very good and will go back.
very good pizza. I'll come back for our friday evening familly pizza
Friendly family atmosphere... Food is excellent. Ample portions and very tasty.
Owner stopped at each table welcoming each customer.
This was an Awesome experience, my family and I loved the services , Kim the waitress was Wonderful attentive and always checking in on us . TheOwner was also Great, Friendly and attentive. We had such a great Celebration with our large family, with Awesome food , we ordered appetizers and drinks alone with Delicious main food egg plant parm , pasta with meatballs , pizza , yummy salads with homemade dressing.
There was no table for us when we arrived at the restaurant. We got a bunch of lame excuses. Bottom line: if they won't have a table, they shouldn't take the reservation.
The food was great. We were there with my 83 year old mom and she had trouble with the noise level, and I agree it was a bit loud for such a small place, but I would definitely visit again.
The server we had was very good, the food was okay, nothing great, nothing terrible. Worst part was the owner was blasting Yanni on the TV radio.
I never got my Opentable points. But this had to be one of the worst Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at in the South Bay! The Caesar salad had very little dressing and no parmigiana cheese, I had to ask for some, the lasagne was not fresh the noodles were mushy and there was hardly any meat in it, the veal was coated in flour and supposedly cooked, but I could taste the raw flour (I hardly ate it) the pasta that came with it was overcooked and came on the plate with nothing on it but parsley. The veal had about tablespoons of sauce in it so I asked for extra sauce to put on the pasta and I was told I’d have to pay extra for it! I have never heard of such a thing before. I have never been served plain pasta before! Save your money! Terrible experience!
Apple maps GPs was wrong, had to call restaraunt to clarify. They knew about this problem, maybe they should put a note about this on their website . They were understaffed, had a new person learning , service slow. Food tasty. Maybe it was an off night.
Tried for lunch and it was perfect. Good food portions at reasonable prices.
This was our first time at this restaurant. Made a reservation, but definitely did not need it. Located in a strip mall, and next to a laundromat and massage place. Little strange. Not much ambiance to the place. It needs to be warmed up a bit (not including the overhead fans that were at full blast). It does not give a warm and inviting feeling when you go in. Asked for a wine list. They don't have one. The owner brought out two bottles of chardonnay that they have to show us. Little strange.
Took a while to get the wine, and then the wait staff passed us by multiple times. Finally had to ask for someone to take our order. Food was very good. I had the veal picata which had a great lemony sauce on it. My friend had the baked rigatoni, and she said it was also very good, just a large portion. Veal was served with plain penne pasta noodles, but the sauce for the veal was plentiful, so no problem. Rigatoni, was just that, but again a large portion. For both entrees and a bottle of Coppola chardonnay, the total was $67.00 A bargain, but it would be nice if the spiffed up the place a bit.
Excellent Service! Food was good and prices were fair.
They needed to replace the Eggplant Parmigiana, as it was cold in the middle, but then it was very good. One person ordered the combo calzone and raved about it. I requested chicken instead of the veal for the piccata and chicken was thicker than I’m used to, however, it was a substitute. The Pesto bread was delish and we wished we had ordered the larger size, so if you question yourself as to which size ... do it and get the 12 piece!! Overall,
I will definitely go back
We went to this gem of a restaurant last Saturday night and it was wonderful! We were greeted by a few different people and everyone was very friendly. We do have several food allergies and we mentioned them to the owner and were able to customize a couple of the meals! It was amazing and they really listened.
The service was wonderful, the food came out in a timely manner, and it was nice and hot! Not to mention, the ingredients were extremely fresh and delicious! We will definitely go back to this restaurant for lunch or dinner!
Delicious authentic food.
Very good service
Great pizza and pasta.
Great Italian food!
We were passing through on our way from Monterey to San Jose. Excellent food, not much in the way of atmosphere but we really enjoyed our meal. The owner was lovely and takes great pride in his restaurant. I would definitely go back!
The owner is very proud of the quality of the ingredients he chose and it does represent on his pizza and pasta. A nice neighborhood gem. Definitely will go repetitively.
We wanted to visit a local restaurant and this is like your corner store. Certainly not a fabulous dining experience but a comfortable corner store restaurant.
Great food. Great service. Very good value. I would definitely eat there again!
went to reservation didn’t confirm we went !!! food was great
The Fettuccine Alfredo, especially with shrimp, was amazing. It was buttery and you can tell it's made fresh. We also had the arugula salad, which was light and delicious. I also had to call to move my appointment up and they were very accommodating. The service was great as well.
We loved it. We were meeting with friends who were late, but the staff was accommodating and very nice .
Great local place
3 star place. Noisy echoes. TV big screens. Order at counter. We were a bit confused at first here thinking we were going to Italian dining. It’s not like that. It’s more of a pizza joint that also serves pasta. The food is good - maybe 6 out of 10. But not dining.
