   I think this was my first visit to The River’s Edge, and I was quite pleased. It was definitely a spendy meal, but I was expecting that. As noted the food was very good, the service was excellent. The only disappointment I had was the menu showed GF items, and we all assumed they would be. Turns out you had to specify that you wanted them GF.

   Try the steelhead if on the menu. Delicious! Watch out for the heat of the meatloaf with Chipotle cream sauce. Too hot for me! The pork belly appetizer was great.

   This is the best restaurant in the Rogue Valley. The menu is diverse and I have never had anything that wasn't prepared perfectly.

    After two previously botched meals, I decided I would give them one more try … I ordered the steak, medium rare and they came out medium at best. After repeated experiences like this I can no longer recommend this restaurant. I do need to add that Julie the manager was great, she was very apologetic & did comp my meal and treat us to dessert which made the experience less painful.

    Our hostess and our server Sarah were wonderful. We split the Wedge Salad and Prime Rib Dinner. For a nominal fee they split both orders for us. Our meal was delicious! The portions are generous! There was no room for dessert. We look forward to returning the next time we are passing through Grants Pass.

    Setting on the Rogue River is outstanding. The service and food was AMAZING! There was a gentleman playing guitar and singing and a couple of times while he played one of the waitstaff sang along. She had the voice of an angel. It was a special occasion for my husband and I and it was PERFECT. Definately would recommend it for a special night out. It was a bit on the spendy side but if you know that going in it should not be a problem.

    Last night we had one of the best meals we have eaten at River's Edge. River's Edge is our go-to date night/out-of-state company restaurant, and it never disappoints. Last night's meal met and exceeded our expectations. We had seared ahi for an appetizer, a poached pear salad and the rack of lamb on a bed of mint risotto (absolutely delicious). Although the lamb was pricey ($60) we paid the plate split fee and shared the meal between the two of us. We ended up with a doggy bag and honestly, could have skipped the ahi appetizer (my previous menu item). I gave them a lower rating for the service, was is not typical. We were there on a Sunday night and they were busy with a group in the conference room that takes one staff member out of the service mix. Usually the servers are a bit more attentive. However, it did not detract from the delicious food we enjoyed!

    We made a reservation a month in advance and asked due to our special occasion to be river front. They put us in the back, ran out of water and the waiter was forgetful. Great guy playing songs!

    It seems that the restaurant is struggling with trained servers. Though our waitress was very nice, apologetic for the lack of attention, service, etc. it did not make up for very slow service, no bread, forgetting dessert order, etc. The number of servers seemed adequate, but without bus support so the wait staff was seemingly doing double duty. Food was just ok and overpriced for that experience. One really is paying for the river view at this establishment.

    We were seated and waited at least 15 mins before anyone asked us if we wanted a drink. My husband had to find someone to help us. Very poor service. Asked the waiter to get me something two separate times and I never got it. They brought the wrong meal for my husband. Our dinner took forever didn’t want to wait to see what the dessert menu had on it. It would of took another 30mins. Tiered of waiting for our bill we got up to find our waiter so he could ring us up. Food was good don’t think we’ll be back tho.

    Lovely atmosphere and great service! My halibut was over cooked. I didn't complain to the waitress. We were having such a nice time I didn't want to ruin our meal. The veggies were great that were served with the halibut.

    Lovely setting by the creek - very tranquil. Crab cake special appetizer was delicious and packed with crab. Calamari appetizer was very tasty but had tiny little rings. Chicken marsala was one of the best we have tried. The seafood pasta had nice seafood but was a bit too creamy (hard to believe). Warm bread with herb butter is also a great start. Live music (musician was Scott Head) really helped set the mood and our server Julie even sang Etta James and was amazing! Sitting outside in the summer evening is lovely (make reservations!). Would recommend to wear mosquito repellant in the evening as the buggers were everywhere - worth it though.

    Honestly, the first time we came last year was not good at all we decided to never come back. Almost called a couple times, but didn't want you to think we just wanted to be comped. It really was a bad experience. Our waiter was not trained in the slightest. We actually got up to get our own drinks twice. He did not get a tip from another table and we were all made aware of that. Gave it a second shot, the food and ambiance was great but assume the hosts or waiter forgot us we had been seated for 20 minutes before I got up and reminded her that she had seated us. One blamed the other, which is never good just apologize and be done. So it is a good thing we give second and third chances because the past 5 times have been wonderful. The service staff were welcoming and friendly, the wait service was highly professional, and the food was excellent. I thought the price for all was quite reasonable and I was sure to tip our server very well. I will highly recommend this restaurant to others. Hope to be back soon. Thank you.
