Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of ‘Yakiniku’ specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled meats, seafood and vegetables fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails, wines and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small bites, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab tempura roll with kimchi mayo and a caviar-topped Wagyu nigiri with yuzu miso truffle sauce.

I thought service was poor. It was known to be an anniversary and no acknowledgement of that. Food was delicious but plonked unceremoniously on the table without any effort to clear used plates or top up drinks. Water not refreshed. The food is fab but the price point isn’t matched by the service. All quite inexperienced and unfamiliar with decent dining. £230 for 2 feels quite steep

Beautifully presented afternoon tea in a really lovely environment and service was great. Personally the food wasn’t at the standard I expected, the miso cake was bland and the sushi also. The miso soup and chocolate torte were delicious.

Booked as a last minute meal for my daughter (vegetarian) and I. I had the tasting menu which after a bit of back and forth I was able to order (not sure if it was due to the time or that only I was having it). We ordered cocktails that we both really enjoyed. Daughter had 3 veggie starters which were enough for her - she particularly enjoyed the tempura gyoza. The tasting menu was great value for money and really good especially the waygu tartare - tuna tartare was good but probably too much truffle which overpowered it. Main of waygu beef was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice ambience and varied menu. Food was really good (some dishes a little over priced). What let it down though was service. Food very slow and disjointed- so half table didn’t have theirs or waiting to other parts of your main.

This is traditional Japanese cuisine meets Fine-Dining. It is on the high-end of what I'm willing to pay, but the quality makes the expense justifiable. The sashimi was melt in the mouth, and the staff were very accommodating.

We went for my wife’s birthday for a special meal, and it certainly was. The ambiance and service were excellent, as was the food. However the menu could do with a bit more explanation because it’s very easy to over or under order. We over ordered and ate all we could but still left some food. That said it didn’t distract from our enjoyment.

We went for my daughter's birthday and the food was delicious. We had a selection of dishes to share. Wagyu beef, tuna tartare, maki rolls, sashimi, kimchi fried rice, the chef's special platter and mochi ice cream. The raw fish was beautifully cut and tasted amazing. The service was excellent and they even put a candle in the mochi!

The service was outstanding. We were not rushed throughout our meal, and staff were attentive and helpful. The food was excellent and we ate a varied amount from the menu from small dishes, to sushi and all was fantastic. Everyone commented on how great the food was and better than every Japanese restaurant we have eaten at in England before. Would fully recommend going.

Absolutely phenomenal food. Best Japanese inspired restaurant I have ever been to. Understandably, this is a little bit expensive but it is absolutely worth it for any special occasion or a business meal. Staff are very friendly, atmosphere is peaceful and the choice of food is varied. Happy to recommend to anyone who likes Japanese cuisine. Ps. Try the Mochi ice cream!

I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough. The food and service were outstanding. Unfortunately, it was fairly empty being Wednesday evening, so it lacked buzz, but the whole experience was excellent.

We had the new lunch menu. Absolutely amazing value for money for excellent quality food. Beautifully cooked, hot and fresh. Wonderful flavours. Now we have sampled the food we will be back for a full evening meal. Service was also really great. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. Highly recommended.
