Roka Akor - Old Orchard

They were kind enough to give us a table inside. Social distancing was maintained. The food was good. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the fried chicken had too much fat in it.

Dana was great! Ramen was the perfect way to start our Sunday afternoon.

My girlfriends birthday. I let them know ahead of time and they truly made it special. The food was outstanding. I am critical of preparation/presentation, etc as both a foodie and cooking enthusiast. Every dish was top notch from the 5 small plates to the perfectly cooked prime rib. Drinks were tasty. The service was exceptional and the manager came to wish my girlfriend a happy birthday during dessert. I only gave the ambiance 4 stars due to having to dine in a tent. Honestly i am unsure what the inside dining ambiance would have been.

I read several reviews online complaining about the price. I thought it was totally on point. Small plates $10-15. Drinks $10-15. Entrees $30-45. Sushi, etc ?? ..did not really view. You get what you pay for. Great food. Great service. Will absolutely go back and totally recommend.

Really good food...a little pricy. Interesting, fun cocktails. The "sticky" rice is delicious. The brussel sprouts, pork belly, shushito peppers were all great.

It was great as usual. The only thing that dampened the experience was one of the servers who gave us our salad was not very pleasant. He asked me if we ordered three salads and I said I had three lunch specials but only wanted two salads. He said I ordered three and I will get three. A little bit not the kind of service I want. Very rude and discourteous.

Outstanding food and service

Food, service, and warmth in their tent was fantastic. We dined as a family on New Years
Eve, and experienced their special tasting menu for the evening. It was delicious! Brian, our server, was exceptional! They have some of the best steak and seafood on the North Shore..do not miss out.

The skirt steak was great and fresh. The heated patio was also very warm and felt very safe.

Amazing food great atmosphere!

The food here is well priced and high quality. Extremely generous with their portion sizes for the dishes they serve. Definitely will come back and their crispy rice with big eye tuna was my favorite!

The food was exceptional. The timing of courses was perfect. Dan and Lee did a wonderful job with service. Chef Boyd and Chef Kristian sent out perfectly cooked food. Exceptional flavor on the ribeye from the grill! Roka Akor is doing a wonderful job making us feel safe while dining out during these unprecedented times.

The tent was cute and decorated for the holidays. Also very warm. We did the chef’s tasting and it was DELICIOUS and generous. Fun to try so many things from sushi to steak. The staff was very attentive. I will definitely be back.

Roka Akor was amazing Friday night. It truly is one of our favorites as a family. The food, service, and atmosphere lend itself to excellence and a sense of calm that we all need right now. Thank you very much.

Great outside dining accommodations.

In my opinion.. they have the best tempura in the midwest. Authentic Japanese food in a classy restaurant with excellent service.

Outdoor setup to accommodate covid restrictions were excellent. Great service and was still very warm despite being outside in tent.

The food was amazing! I want it now! The salad, fried squid, miso soup, tempura and ribs were amazing! They have two tents and an outdoor section and the customer service was awesome! Will definitely be back!

I was celebrating my birthday with a couple of girlfriends. The Roka service was great from beginning to end. We were greeted when we walked in the restaurant and was promptly seated in the warm tent. Our servers were friendly, attentive and provided great suggestions for dinner. They even made our celebration extra special by lighting a candle in one of our desserts. Restaurant staff wore masks while working which made us feel safe. Definitely will be back.

We paid a lot of money to eat outside in a tent. It was chilly and I feel like they needed more heaters.

However, the food was amazing as usual. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. They offered to bring another heater for our table since we were seated near the entrance. We made the most of it.

The appetizers are the stars at this restaurant. Lamb Chops are delish.

For the money, the food was less than stellar. There are many better steak houses in this price range

We had an amazing time. When the staff found out it was a date night they provided a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and everything was great. Food is amazing!

The food is excellent and the staff is great and very friendly.

Dan our server couldn't have been more professional, cocktails were made perfectly, appetizers were outstanding, dinner was good. The fish entree was a bit fishy tasting and the steak entree could have been hotter. We will return and try different entrees.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Roka Akor this past weekend. The food, and service, were wonderful. We were even presented with a dessert, as a thank you for our business, at the completion of our meal. Thank you Roka!
